Natalie’s hand froze in mid-air.
Connor hadn’t spoken to her in such a tone for a long ti. Lately, he had been gentle, coaxing her, pampering her, filled with love.
"I only started improving this morning. I can see a bit of light now, but I still can’t see things clearly."
"Then why didn’t you tell ?! Do you know how worried I was about you? Why didn’t you tell Johan! He’s worried about you every day too! Natalie, do you even have a heart? Are you even human?! I thought the stone-cold heart should have been ward by Johan and !"
Natalie slowly withdrew her hand, her expression indifferent, her voice cold: "I have no heart, I told you long ago."
"I saved you, protected you, even exposed the Young Master’s secrets just to keep others from taking you away. How dare you walk into that passage! What were you thinking?!"
"I just went in to have a look, I wasn’t thinking of anything."
Connor was almost roaring: "Only a fool would believe you! If I trust you again, I’d be a pig!"
He grabbed Natalie’s wrist and dragged her out of the basent, throwing her onto the living room sofa.
Johan had already left; he didn’t stay for lunch. The aroma of dishes wafted from the kitchen, all made by Connor.
Natalie’s face was pale. It took her a while to clutch her chest and get up from the sofa.
She entered the kitchen, hugged Connor’s waist from behind, leaned against him, her voice low: "I was wrong."
Connor’s body stiffened but he didn’t move, his voice cold: "Get out! I must have been blind to like you! I won’t like you anymore, you can leave."
"I won’t lie to you anymore."
"I don’t believe you!"
"Don’t be angry, I won’t go into that passage again, I promise."
Connor forcefully removed the arms around his waist, turned around, and tears had already fallen:
"Natalie, you can enter, but rember, the day you go in and harm the Young Master, that’s the day I atone with my life! If you want to die, then go in!"
"You can deceive , harm , or use , but you cannot touch him! He is the best person to in this world, and I will never do anything to wrong the Young Master!"
Natalie knew she had touched his raw nerve. Before, when Connor was angry, she didn’t really care, but this ti, she felt a bit flustered inside.
He was truly angry.
"I didn’t go into his house, I was just standing outside the passage door for a while."
Natalie tried to grasp his hand, but he fiercely shook her off. She tried to touch his chest, but he pushed her.
She lost her balance and fell to the floor with a painful groan.
Connor panicked for a mont and hurriedly picked her up.
Natalie took the opportunity to wrap her arms around his neck, voluntarily offering her lips to kiss him, obediently admitting her wrongs: "I was wrong, I’m sorry."
Connor held her on the sofa, pressing her down to kiss her desperately, stopping only when the scent of blood filled their mouths.
Natalie looked at his chiseled features and deep blue eyes, and softly asked: "Have you forgiven ?"
Connor’s voice was hoarse: "Natalie, let’s break up."
Natalie didn’t expect to hear this!
"I don’t agree!"
"I’m not negotiating with you, I’m informing you."
"No way!"
"We can’t be together anymore. Maybe this was a mistake all along."
He loved her to the point of madness, loved her to the brink of losing all his principles.
As a bodyguard, this was already a huge taboo.
Natalie, in a panic, blurted out: "I like you!"
