At one in the morning, Connor arrived at the secret base.
Major Lucas Chambers personally ca to pick him up. As soon as he got out of the car, he was tightly hugged in a bear embrace: "Connor!"
Connor laughed, revealing his neat white teeth: "Hello, Major Chambers!"
Lucas let him go: "You should call Brother Chambers, it sounds more pleasant."
"Brother Chambers, your military rank has risen quite quickly, did your dad pull so strings for you?"

Lucas suddenly punched him, but Connor easily parried it.
"Good kid, your reactions are getting faster! Tell , how’s the old man doing?"

Connor smiled warmly, without explaining that the old man was faking illness to force Harry Hunter into marriage.
Lucas was a distant relative of the Hunter Family. His grandfather and father had both been greatly indebted to Ben Hunter and would visit him on major holidays every year.
