The weekend passed in a blur, and on Monday morning, Isabella Weaver walked into the office looking radiant.
Johan Niles had a bruised face, sporting large dark circles under his eyes, and greeted her weakly, "Good morning, sister-in-law!"
Isabella was taken aback, "What happened to you?"
"Connor, that heartless guy when it cos to won, beat up! I didn’t sleep well last night."
"What did you do to anger him?"
"I didn’t do much, just kissed him a little! And he got angry. You know, after being good buddies for so many years, he got himself a girlfriend first. How disloyal can he be, I..."
Isabella widened her eyes and interrupted his rambling, "What did you say? You kissed Connor?!"
Johan suddenly beca smug, "Yes! Now Cora Ginger thinks the two of us are a thing and won’t talk to either of us! Hahaha!"
Isabella sighed helplessly, what on earth was there to be proud of?
Connor didn’t hit him hard enough!
As they were talking, Isabella’s secretary, Nina Landon, walked in carrying a stack of docunts and briefly reported on the work schedule for the day.
Halfway through, Secretary Clarke rushed in in a panic, "Isabella, sothing’s wrong, the CEO is missing!"
Isabella jumped up abruptly, "How could it be? Wasn’t soone watching all the ti?"
"The nurses and doctors on watch were all knocked out! Now the hospital is a complete ss!"
Isabella grabbed her coat, just about to head out when her phone rang.
She imdiately answered, and Ella Weaver’s voice ca through, laced with laughter, "Sister, Aunt Morrison just fainted right after being brought ho. Do you want to co and see her?"
Isabella felt a chilling sensation sweep over her body, her eyes reddening as she yelled, "Don’t touch my mom!"
"Hehehe, sister, are you finally admitting she’s your mom now? Cherry Lewis told us she was your real mom, and we didn’t believe it at first. Dad saw her die with his own eyes, and now she’s alive again! But she’s so ugly, you don’t look like her at all. Is she really your mother?"
"Take her back to the hospital imdiately! Whatever you want, co at , it’s got nothing to do with her!"
"I want Harry Hunter, will you give him to ?"
"He’s a person, not a bargaining chip!"
"You aren’t willing, are you? I guess you’re not, it seems your real mom isn’t that important after all. For the sake of a man, you won’t even save her, how pitiful she is! Go ho quickly to see her, maybe you can catch her last monts!"
Isabella hung up the phone, her fingers trembling.
Johan’s face turned serious, "Sister-in-law, what’s wrong?"
"Doctor Niles, take to the Weaver Family house, my mom was taken away by Christopher Weaver!"
"Alright, let’s go!"
The car sped along the road, reaching the Weaver Family villa in just seven minutes.
Isabella stepped forward, heading inside, with Johan following her, "Sister-in-law, I’ve already told the boss, he and Connor will be here soon!"
Isabella nodded, feeling a bit more at ease, and straightened her back as she entered the villa.
The previous Weaver Family villa had been destroyed by Harry Hunter, and now it was joined with the Parker Family’s villa. The high courtyard walls, overgrown plants, worn-out walls, and tightly closed curtains created an eerie silence.
"Sister-in-law, are you sure we have the right place? This place feels so ghostly!"
"We’re not mistaken."
Isabella also felt sothing was amiss, but besides here, she had no idea where else to look for Shiely Morrison.
She pushed open the heavy living room door, light pouring in, revealing a solitary, slender, and extraordinarily handso figure in the darkened living room.
He spoke with a fierce gentleness, "Cousin, you’re here."
