"Knock knock~ Lord Yila... Miss Orphelus is here to see you."

"..."

*Orphelus? Did she co specifically to see ?*

*Thinking this, Yila stopped writing with his quill pen and placed the ink-drying letter on the table. After thinking for a mont, he decided not to put the envelope away... there was nothing in it that couldn’t be seen by Orphelus.*

"Co in."

With Yila’s words, his room opened, and what t his eyes... was a succubus maid and two ghost maids, followed by Orphelus and so of her guards.

Afterward, Orphelus walked in alone, while her guards stayed outside the room and shut the door.

The maids didn’t seem worried about Yila’s safety at all and imdiately scattered to do their own tasks... forming a stark contrast with Orphelus’s guards.

But this was very reasonable, after all...

"If I intended to harm you, the guards outside would be utterly useless."

Yila spoke simply while casually turning his back to Orphelus. He no longer exuded the sa oppressive aura he had at the negotiating table during the day, and he said, "Please sit."

Orphelus understood this point very well.

"I know, but it’s their job. Regardless of the real situation, they need to fulfill their duties as guards."

Orphelus said, pulling out a chair from under the table and sitting down... in front of her was the sa table where the little fairies once ate pudding and where Topps ca to enjoy sweet soup.

Yila also temporarily stopped his work. He turned his head and brewed a simple cup of tea, making one for Orphelus too. He said, "It’s late, is there sothing you need from ?"

*How should one describe this attitude?*

*Orphelus found Yila’s current deanor sowhat fresh—it neither showed respect nor arrogance. It was as if they were having a very simple conversation despite their respective statuses, which shouldn’t be this casual.*

*But it was intriguing, almost as if the world was ant to be this way.*

"It’s still about matters concerning the Empire."

Yila could more or less guess the gist of what Orphelus was saying. He nodded and said, "If it’s still about the alliance, I think I’ve made it clear during the day that we need more ti for discussion and consideration."

Seeing Yila’s apparent disinterest, Orphelus did not retreat. She chose a more straightforward approach and said, "It’s not ’you all,’ but ’you’ specifically. Is that acceptable?"

*The implication of that sentence was...*

"It’s not about the Demon King Territory but about ... is that correct?"

Yila said, sitting down and taking a sip of his tea. He believed he might understand what Orphelus was planning and said, "Is this the decision of the Council or your own idea?"

*This question hit the nail on the head.*

"The Council has its own plan, but I’ve thought of my proposal. I think... if I approach you directly, things might be easier."

*In other words, the cost would be smaller...*

*So, Yila really needed so ti to think about the type of response he should give... Did she want to use my relationship with the Yila Faction to make the Empire crumble from within?*

*It seems this councilwoman nad Orphelus indeed has so real skills. At least she can see what the biggest problem of the Empire is right now, and she does have the ans to exploit it.*

*Isabella probably can suppress them... right?*

*Even Yila was sowhat dubious about this point now, though he never doubted that if he sent a letter back, his people would choose a side... But, he wasn’t quite sure about his own thoughts.*

*Isabella might still be a bit immature and would need a long ti to learn... evidence showed she might even struggle to cross this hurdle. It was true she shouldn’t consider being on her own so soon.*

*Fool, fool.*

*Although Yila was silently mocking her in his heart, he kept a neutral face, making Orphelus unable to decipher his feelings. She took a light sip of the golden-edge tea and suddenly widened her eyes...* The tea leaves were actually quite ordinary and inexpensive.

But, Yila’s technique seed excessively good.

"Delicious..."

Upon Orphelus’s involuntary praise, Yila nodded and simply thanked her, saying, "Thanks for the complint, everyone says so... So actually, your idea is for to write a letter back to the Empire, inciting my people to split?"

Orphelus nodded, marveling at Yila’s straightforwardness in such matters, though it undeniably was very efficient. She said, "Yes, indeed, the Empire is showing signs of that already."

*Is that so? Well then... Good luck, Isabella.*

*Thinking this, Yila smiled, supported his chin with his hand, and said, "If that’s your purpose, then I must apologize. I don’t intend to do anything... Of course, I won’t stop whatever you do.*

"..."

"..."

"Yila, what do you want?"

Orphelus asked bluntly, clearly... she had learned how to communicate efficiently with Yila from Novak. Sotis there was indeed no need for subtlety.

"A reliable and long-term partnership, that’s all... unrelated to the war coalition, that’s Satan Ye’s concern, not mine to decide."

Saying this, Yila looked at Orphelus, who was left speechless, and blandly said, "The honey desserts of the Demon King Territory are delicious. You can find a sli chef to get one before you leave."

"..."

With a strange look, Orphelus stood up, her mind filled with *So, you’re not the real ruler of the Demon King Territory? Despite the arrogance, even the Demon King couldn’t intervene, and she didn’t have any objections?*. She nodded and said, "I don’t need it. I’m not from the Empire, so I don’t have the habit of eating sweets before bed. But... I humbly accept your recomndation."

Orphelus said, wearing her totally unnecessary fancy dress, and bowed in a noble manner, saying, "I understand now, tonight’s conversation was quite pleasant... Wish you a good dream."

"..."

"..."

"..."

*After all, she’s just a kid who can’t wait to head towards the kitchen...*

Thinking this, Yila tucked the chairs neatly and sat back at his work table. After so thought, he tore up the letter in his hand and casually crushed the pieces of parchnt into balls.

*Indeed, there’s no need to send a letter back to the Empire... Whatever happens, they must handle it themselves.*
