"Great! Ready... Go!"

Yila commanded the liches. He watched as buildings rose into the air one by one and flew to their designated positions that he had planned out earlier... All work in the Demon King’s Territory was halted today; everything was striving for a better tomorrow.

However, many buildings on the ground hadn’t started as planned.

This situation was normal. The so-called "Building Capture Technique" was a spell that regards the entire building as the main body using mana to move it wholly, and it could only transport buildings.

Any living things within the building wouldn’t work; there also couldn’t be any mana equipnt or magic storage devices inside... The latter was easy to handle since the Demon King’s Territory didn’t have the habit of using Mana Lamps.

Or rather, oil lamps and Luminous Pearls for natural lighting were mainstream in the world’s lighting thods.

Mana Lamps were special equipnt used only in environnts filled with precious flammable materials... like pine resin. They were a luxury used in such environnts.

However, as for the forr... The so-called living things didn’t just refer to intelligent creatures.

While bacteria, microorganisms, and spores weren’t counted, flies, rats, and bugs, even an insect egg, would affect the spell’s operation.

The size of the existing living things could even be identified by this.

Those that swayed precariously in the sky but were still moving likely had uncleaned living things like spiders and arthropods or crawling bugs inside.

Those that didn’t move at all likely had rats or sothing like that inside.

At tis like this, detailed cleaning was needed again, and the liches had to stop casting the spell first, or their mana reserves would definitely run out.

Overall, the "Building Capture Technique" was almost renad to the "Moving House Skill." Due to its lack of strategic value, the war mage faction, to which Yila belonged, didn’t bother learning this academic spell.

"Even though we knew this was an advanced application of Transformation Series spells, and proficiency in it would help in learning many profound spells of the Transformation Series, we still didn’t learn it."

Yila said this as Vera looked helpless. She watched the buildings rise into the sky again and said, "Got it, got it. You could just say ’I didn’t morize it’ and be done with it... so much rambling."

"Tsk..."

Yila clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Hey, hey, hey, you clicked your tongue, didn’t you? You absolutely did!"

Vera said this, interrogating Yila. Then she imdiately put on a despondent look and feigned crying pathetically: "Boohoo, how heartbreaking, why are you so an to ?"

"Shut up."

"Oh."

The obediently shut-mouth Vera watched the Demon King Territory move as Yila had planned. Unable to hold back, she spoke again: "Yila, you know so much, but you’re really annoying when you talk."

For this, Yila glanced at her and then shook his head helplessly, saying: "It’s just that the terms I use are hard for you to understand... I’ve gotten used to it."

*Imagine trying to have a normal conversation, saying, ’soak the churro in soy milk,’ and others not understanding what ’soak’ ans or what a ’churro’ is.*

*You then have to explain that ’soak’ ans imrsion, and churros are a type of fried food...*

*Over ti, the other person would find you annoying for always talking about incomprehensible things, while you’re in pain... because these terms are all common to you.*

*It’s unavoidable.*

"Where did you get this habit? Isn’t it just you in the Empire who talks this way?"

Yila didn’t know how to respond to Vera’s teasing.

So he randomly made up sothing, saying sothing even he knew wasn’t highly credible: "It’s my family’s habit, the Elkaras Family’s habit... is that okay?"

"..."

Vera thought carefully. She hadn’t interacted much with the Elkaras Family, but it seed, perhaps, that the Elkaras Family mbers were indeed like this.

"Hmm, it does seem like that."

Vera, arms crossed, comnted while watching the drastically changed street: "Your parents and elders aren’t obvious, but starting from your generation, it seems everyone talks like this."

By "like this," she naturally didn’t an the refined, roundabout way of speaking like the Imperial nobles. Instead... the Elkaras Family spoke concisely and clearly, giving lots of useful advice, like Yila.

They just occasionally used terms that were hard to understand.

"Well, of course, this is our family’s legacy."

Yila said this, even though the so-called legacy ant " influencing the whole clan," it didn’t stop him from joking about Vera: "You wouldn’t understand family heritage."

This made Vera unable to hold back, she imdiately retorted: "Hey! Even if we talk about noble families! Ours, the "Yayliinoceyatos" Family, has more heritage!"

That was indeed true, though Vera’s family didn’t have much depth, being upstart nobles. In terms of heritage, they couldn’t be compared to the Elkaras Family, which rose through warfare.

"Anyway, your noble glory is already a thing of the past."

Yila said.

"..."

Vera: "..."

Yila: "..."

...

"Sorry."

Yila said, realizing he had forgotten that Vera was a traditional noble mage. Unlike him, whose family was honored because of him, Vera’s inner self still thought of family honor.

At Yila’s apology, Vera shook her head seemingly unconcerned. She shrugged and said: "No need to apologize. My family will be there regardless. It doesn’t matter if I’m not part of it."

*That showed she still cared about family. "Not returning" and "can’t return" were fundantally different.*

Yila shook his head helplessly, looking at the misaligned fodder supply store (warehouse). He imdiately prepared to correct it. After taking a few steps, he thought of sothing.

He turned back, speaking to the yawning Vera: "Vera, whether the Demon King Territory rges with the empire, or the empire rges with the Demon King Territory, peace between monsters and humans will be inevitable... Human lifespans are too short, and monsters don’t hold grudges."

Vera: "???"

Vera had no idea what he ant by that.

"When that ti cos, you can return to your family. If your family won’t accept you..."

Yila said this, nodding towards the confused lich, indicating for Vera to listen: "As an apology for today, you can co to for help then."

"..."

"Hmph, really now..."

Vera said with a chuckle. She tried to imitate Yila’s helpless head shaking but quickly lowered her head to hide her expression, her voice abnormally hoarse: "Do you really like ? That would be quite scary~"

*If you feel like crying, don’t force yourself to joke.*

"..."

*Co to think of it, can liches cry? Do their tear glands still work?*

*Yila was curious but didn’t ask out loud.*
