Fang Huai stared blankly ahead.

Ice, there truly was ice everywhere.

In his previous life, they said the accident took place in a valley with ice on the ground, and he had always assud it was the valley that was icy. He’d even rolled down the window to feel the temperature. Damn it, was this the kind of ice they dealt with?!

The valley should be before the tunnel, right? Where the hell is the valley here? It made him slightly lower his guard when passing through the valley, thinking the next valley was still ahead!

Rumors really screw you over!

Fang Huai took a deep breath, imdiately looked back, and then, gazed ahead.

No cars were coming from behind, it seed that they hadn’t arrived at the sa ti as in his previous life.

The slow lane ahead was filled with cars, yet there was not a person in sight.

The Traffic Police hadn’t arrived either.

"Get out of the car, it’s dangerous to stay here!"

Fang Huai made a decisive decision, at that mont there were no distinctions of rank or seniority, he grabbed Li Zhi’s arm, and hurriedly got out on the right side of the car.

He then urged Squad Leader Qiu, "Open the trunk, get out quickly!"

Squad Leader Qiu didn’t know what he planned to do, but with a swoosh, the trunk popped open.

The three of them got out of the car and only then heard the crying and shouting, which seed to co from far away, beyond the highway barrier, from the large slope.

There seed to be a slope there that could be descended, but what was an instant for a car over a distance of one hundred so ters was far too great for a person on foot.

Fang Huai imdiately pulled the two of them to the side, having them take shelter next to the outer wall of the tunnel.

This place—cars couldn’t hit them even if they tried. It must be the safest area within a dozen ters.

"Stay there, don’t move! Don’t you dare move! It’s dangerous!"

Fang Huai shouted as he ran toward the back of the car without ti to care about the vehicles on the other side. Right now, the most important thing was to avoid any more rear-end collisions. He quickly ran to the back of the car, opened the trunk bed, and grabbed the most handy tool at hand—an illuminated tripod—and dashed inside the pedestrian maintenance path beside the tunnel.

When he reached the two people, Fang Huai shouted again:

"Don’t move! Squad Leader Qiu, protect the Detachnt Captain! I’m going to stop the cars from behind!"

He stord into the tunnel and started to hear the alarm sounds.

The sirens of police cars were a low frequency or continuous whistle, ambulances had a high-frequency "waa-waa," and fire trucks sounded with a high-frequency "woo-mm-woo-mm."

An ambulance was on the way.

Fang Huai frantically waved the reflective tripod in his hand, shouting:

"Stop! Stop the car!"

A mud-covered ambulance approached rapidly, the trendous sound of its siren thundering toward him, instantly drowning out Fang Huai’s voice.

The driver seed not to see him, although the passenger did point at him and say sothing to the driver. The ambulance only slowed down a bit. When it passed by him, the driver finally started to turn his head, though it was unclear whether he saw Fang Huai or not.

Watching the car zoom past at seventy or eighty miles per hour, Fang Huai thought this wasn’t good.

Damn it, you might as well not look at at all. Watch the road!

"This..."

"Boom," with a loud crash.

Hearing that sound, Fang Huai understood that his uncle’s car was going to need repairs.

It was too dark here; even holding the reflective tripod, he wasn’t noticeable—and parking in the tunnel was even more dangerous. He had to go out to stop them.

Fang Huai took out his cell phone, made a call, and continued to run out quickly.

"Beep, beep..."

"Hello!"

"Detachnt Captain! An ambulance just crashed over here, are you and Squad Leader Qiu alright?"

Squad Leader Qiu’s voice ca from the other end: "It’s fine, fine! Just now, the Detachnt Captain wanted to get sothing from the car, but I didn’t let him go! Thankfully!"

The voice of the Detachnt Captain resounded, "Little Fang, hurry and stop the cars! We’ll evacuate the people from the ambulance first! Try to prevent any more rear-end collisions!"

"Alright!"

Fang Huai hung up the phone and, carrying the tripod, sprinted at full speed.

An athlete capable of running four hundred ters in 46 seconds didn’t falter in the tunnel and was out in no ti at all.

Ahead was the valley curve they had just driven through, and there was a straight stretch of road in front of the tunnel where vehicles would normally slow down. This was the best spot for stopping cars now.

Fang Huai placed the tripod a hundred ters in front of the tunnel, then he retreated fifty ters before picking up the phone again to call Cao Yi.

It connected after two rings.

"Hello!"

"Where are you?"

"Almost there, nearly there, the roads are a bit slick, don’t rush !"

"I’m not rushing you! Li Zhi’s car has been hit! Slow down! There’s a valley curve ahead, slow down when you get to it! The tunnel entrance is right after, I’m waiting for you here! If you encounter any vehicles on the road, turn on your loudspeaker and tell them there’s been a crash at the tunnel exit!"

"Li Zhi’s car got hit? Is everyone okay?"

"It’s fine, it’s fine. Rember to remind other drivers if you see any! Hanging up now!"

"Okay, okay."

Fang Huai put down the phone and quietly watched into the distance.

Internally, he began to plan out how to handle the car accident.

In his previous life, he had heard it was a 13-car pile-up. The cars he had just seen amounted to roughly seven or eight.

That ant if not handled properly, several more cars were likely to collide later on.

The situation was becoming clear now.

This road section had two lanes, one fast lane, one slow lane.

The first scene was about two hundred ters outside the tunnel where a tanker truck had flipped over onto the slow lane, partially blocking the fast lane too. The reason for the flip was unknown; it might be due to the slippery road from the rain plus a sharp turn.

The second scene was around a hundred and fifty ters from the tunnel exit where cars just coming out of the tunnel would suddenly find the overturned tanker ahead. Those on the fast lane might be able to edge through, but those on the slow lane would definitely have to co to a sudden stop.

And if they couldn’t stop in ti, rear-end collisions would happen.

In his previous life, his uncle must have stopped not at the tunnel entrance but at the second scene, just behind the conglorate of rear-ended vehicles a hundred or two ters away.

The mont they ca out of the tunnel and suddenly encountered the accident scene, they braked hard.
