Zhang Li walked in front. When she heard their conversation, she suddenly recalled what her father had told her when she was young.

She looked at the blue eucalyptus and said in a reminiscent tone, "That tree was transplanted from a small county in Y Province."

Jing Yao and Liang Xun did not speak.

Zhang Li continued, "When your Grandpa and Grandma were young, they stayed in Y Province for a few years. Their relationship wasn't especially deep at first."

"Your Grandma was introduced to your Grandpa by a superior. At that ti, your Grandpa was only from an ordinary family, but your Grandma's family was a real scholarly family. They were rich for a few generations. When your Grandpa was stationed in Province Y, your Grandma also followed him."

"At that ti, there was a large blue eucalyptus tree beside the courtyard where they lived. When they first went, your Grandma was especially unaccustod to it. She wanted to vomit when she slled it. Later on, she slowly adapted and often went to the eucalyptus forest for a walk."

"After that, your Grandpa was transferred back to Lin City. Your Grandma often missed that sll, so your Grandpa spent a lot of money to plant an eucalyptus tree in this courtyard. However, the climate in Lin City is not suitable for eucalyptus and eucalyptus trees can't be planted. Now, this one was even transplanted by your Grandpa to the eucalyptus forest in Y Province. It took many days of ticulous nurturing to survive."

Jing Yao and Liang Xun looked at each other as they listened to Zhang Li's story.

They all understood why that blue eucalyptus could receive such preferential treatnt.

That was Grandpa's nostalgia for Grandma. After Grandma passed away, Grandpa must have stood under the eucalyptus tree many tis and recalled their days in Y Province.

There was no way to tell others about such deep feelings, nor was there anywhere to place his longing. Hence, he placed his hopes on things.

For example, the eucalyptus tree in front of him.

Zhang Li was in a daze after saying this.

She did not know that she actually rembered this past that her father had told her so clearly.

The first few years after she left the Zhang Family, she would occasionally think of her family, but at that ti, she did not miss them. She just held back her anger.

She thought that she had to live well, be happy, and achieve sothing. This way, her father and brother would know that they were wrong back then, and her choice was not wrong.

From the looks of it, she was really wrong.

"Yaoyao." Zhang Li suddenly turned around and looked at Jing Yao.

Jing Yao was feeling sorry for Grandpa and Grandma, but when she heard Zhang Li call her, she instinctively looked over.

Zhang Li felt a lump in her throat and tears rolled down her face. Her voice was trembling.

"I'm sorry…" She could no longer say anything else. She could only whimper sadly.

Jing Yao's body was a little stiff, but she did not speak or move.

Liang Xun put his arm around Jing Yao's shoulder and looked at Zhang Li coldly, not feeling touched at all.

The two of them did not move. Zhang Li could not stop crying. After an unknown period of ti, her cries gradually subsided.

She looked up at Jing Yao with teary eyes, then raised her hand to wipe the tears off her face. She smiled stiffly and said, "You guys can go back. Little Dumpling will cause trouble later."

Jing Yao didn't move. Liang Xun didn't respond to Zhang Li and just walked back with Jing Yao in his arms.

After they turned around, Zhang Li's body swayed and she almost lost her balance.

Jing Yao followed Liang Xun back without a word. As she walked, she suddenly stopped.

Liang Xun stopped with her and looked at her in confusion.

Jing Yao turned around and looked at Zhang Li. She said expressionlessly, "Discuss with him and withdraw the lawsuit."

Zhang Li's dark eyes suddenly lit up and she looked at Jing Yao expectantly.

Jing Yao continued, "Grandpa is old. He can't withstand such a blow."

Zhang Li lowered her eyes slightly and the light in her eyes extinguished instantly. She didn't respond to Jing Yao.

Jing Yao did not want to wait for her response. She pulled Liang Xun's hand and entered the house.

She could tell that Zhang Li's apology was sincere, but so what? She could not say anything to forgive her.

She was just plain lucky to et Liang Xun. Otherwise, it was hard to say if she still existed in this world.

Of course, she did not want to hate anyone. That would be too tiring.

Her limited life should be used to do aningful things, such as enjoying life with her family, fighting bravely for her career, and working hard to fulfill her promise to Zhu Ling back then…

These things required a lot of ti and energy, and these were what she should care about.

Zhang Li opened her mouth slightly and watched the two of them go back in a daze.

After their backs disappeared from sight, she did not do anything. It was only when Zhang Ji ca out and said that he wanted to send her back that she nodded. They returned to Zhang Ji's house without saying a word.
