Chapter 531: Chapter 526: Is It You, Shen Yan…
Shen Yan suddenly made such a move, frightening Okazi as though facing a formidable enemy. His expression tensed, and he quickly scanned the surroundings.
However.
It was just their people working; there was no danger at all.
Shen Yan quickly withdrew her gaze, as if nothing had happened.
*
At two o’clock in the afternoon.
An archaeological professor’s face turned red as he argued with Okazi, saying they couldn’t just blast their way into the entrance, as it would harm the artifacts below.
They had to wait until more precise machinery was delivered before taking action.
Okazi didn’t waste words with them, his face ugly as he waved a hand, having his people separate that bunch of stubborn old n.
Then, according to the location indicated by Shen Yan, they blasted an entrance.
As the earth exploded, several professors cried out in anguish.
The accusations hurled at them were even more frequent.
Okazi just responded with a cold laugh and, seeing the entrance suddenly appearing before his eyes, gestured grandly, leading his people inside.
*
One hour later.
Another group rushed to the scene.
When the archaeology team saw them discussing briefly before following inside, there was another round of curses.
“Mr. Qi, this is soone else’s property after all. Should we grab soone to lead the way?” The assistant approached the entrance, suddenly pointing behind, and asked Qi Si.
Qi Si paused for a mont, then nodded, “Grab soone nimble.”
Amidst the clamor of the crowd, the assistant seized a middle-aged professor.
Perhaps due to so reputation, several young students shouted to go in with them.
In the end, they dragged a young student along inside, while the others stayed on the ground.
For inside and outside safety, both their groups left half of their people outside.
*
The further they went, the more eerie it felt.
“Mr. Qi, look!”
Unsure of which location they had reached, they ca to an indoor area and, upon seeing murals with the style of Z country, were so shocked they found themselves at a loss for words.
How could their things appear in this kind of place?
Qi Si looked up, and the mural above was lifelike, its colors vivid yet not garish, blending European and Z country styles.
At first glance, it looked sowhat incongruous, but upon closer inspection, each stroke was so exquisitely detailed, it seed printed onto the scroll.
Qi Si observed for a long ti, and was suddenly drawn to the intricate human figures above.
He was about to shift his gaze when he suddenly stopped, staring intently at one spot.
Soone noticed Qi Si’s unusual expression and followed his gaze. Initially clueless as to why Qi Si looked like that, until they clearly saw the anciently-dressed beauty standing tranquilly on the altar, they couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise, “Mr. Qi, that looks like the young mistress…”
An illusion?
Everyone’s gaze was also pulled to that figure.
Two of the archaeologists saw their reaction and appeared puzzled.
They didn’t understand what they were looking at.
Qi Si’s handso brows furrowed slightly, as the anciently-dressed woman indeed looked just like Shen Yan, not missing a single detail.
He withdrew his gaze and looked again; it was still Shen Yan’s face.
So it wasn’t an illusion.
There was nothing in this place that could induce hallucinations; it was so empty that there were only murals and the raised patterns on the ground.
“Mr. Qi, it doesn’t seem to be painted recently. I asked those two archaeologists; they said it has a history of one to two thousand years.”
The assistant approached Qi Si and whispered, attempting to clarify.
“Whoosh!”
For no reason, a chilly wind swept in from behind the door.
Inside the room, every face suddenly changed!
Could they have encountered so sort of ghostly entity?
Qi Si abruptly turned around, fixing his gaze on the doorway they had just co through, his eyes sharp enough to pierce through another stone door and see every detail on the other side.
It was as if soone was watching them through the air.
Qi Si looked up, but all he could see was an expanse of white, making out nothing clearly.
The others felt the sa.
Yet after a re glance, as though suddenly losing interest, they withdrew their gazes and continued walking further inside.
Qi Si’s dark pupils narrowed!
What was happening?
Could there really be sothing eerie lurking beside them, watching?
Although Qi Si’s feeling lasted only a few dozen seconds, he felt the real sensation of being under soone’s surveillance.
The things Qi Si and the others could see, Shen Yan and those walking in front naturally saw too.
Upon seeing a face identical to her forr self, Shen Yan’s expression changed repeatedly.
All sorts of speculation arose.
But none could provide a reasonable explanation.
In the end, she suspected sothing invisible was affecting them, causing a sort of ntal disturbance!
No matter how many more things related to “Z country” they saw, Shen Yan ignored them, focusing instead on finding that bottle.
A series of thoughts rose and fell within Shen Yan’s mind, not revealing even a sliver on her face. Okazi and the others by her side rely appreciated the beauty, marveling at how people from the era of Z country liked to travel here and so on.
Jokingly, they quickened their pace further inside.
“Miss Shen truly has a divine touch, to be able to find an entrance like this so accurately. If it weren’t Miss Shen’s first visit, I’d doubt whether this was her ho!” Okazi said, chuckling at his own comnt.
Shen Yan’s eyes flickered, sweeping over the ancient murals, her mind subtly shifting.
“Maybe it really was people from our place who traveled here in that era.”
“Eh?” Okazi realized Shen Yan was following up on the previous comnt and laughed heartily, “Miss Shen thinks so too!”
“Perhaps, thousands of years ago, this land belonged to us,” Shen Yan casually remarked before turning into another corner.
Okazi and the others: “…”
Wanting to refute but not daring to, they could only follow Shen Yan with frustration.
Along the way, there was no danger, only winding paths and inner chambers.
They weren’t here for archeology and didn’t touch anything.
Since entering, Shen Yan had felt an extraordinary smoothness.
Logically, a large-scale ancient tomb should have so defensive chanisms or traps, but they encountered none.
It was too smooth!
It was as if soone was invisibly guiding her through.
“We’re just ahead! Miss Shen, we’ve arrived!” Okazi found it hard to believe, “This is the ancient tomb of that family, but when we ca down last ti, it was full of traps and chanisms. How co we haven’t seen any this ti?”
“Perhaps the collapse jamd all the chanisms,” Boda surveyed left and right, detecting no danger.
“This place is still intact, and the object is in there, the chanism for the door is right here…” Okazi’s voice abruptly stopped.
Because the stone door had automatically opened.
A chill emanated from the room, cold air rushing out as they had used special ice to preserve the object upon entering.
Okazi sighed with relief upon seeing the intact bottle.
Shen Yan stepped forward to take the bottle in hand, and just as she stepped out the door, a sudden vibration ca from above and chunks of stone started cascading down.
“Shen Yan!”
As a piece of rock was about to crash down on her, Shen Yan faintly heard soone calling her na.
Then, without warning, the large stone poised above her head shattered, and Shen Yan swiftly pressed against the adjacent wall, turning towards the source of the voice.
What she saw was a mural depicting her forr self.
Shen Yan’s black eyes narrowed.
Is it you, Shen Yan…
