Chapter 488: Chapter 483: Can Shen Yan Be Hired Just by Offering More Money?

Xiao Ling blad herself, “I failed to protect your older brother, I’m sorry.”

Shen Yan moved her gaze from Shen Zheng, “It has nothing to do with you, we from the Shen family should have stopped him from coming out from the beginning.”

Seeing the guilt flash across Shen Yan’s cold eyes, Xiao Ling was startled, “I thought you would be angry.”

“At ?” Shen Yan’s tone was as cold as her gaze.

“After all, it’s because of my incident that he ended up in this condition,” Xiao Ling did not hide everything just because the Shen family knew nothing.

She was trying her best to save Shen Zheng.

Shen Yan looked at Shen Zheng on the bed, then turned her gaze to Xiao Ling, “Have you found a way?”

“He’s out of danger now, that’s true, but he needs a stimulus to wake up,” Xiao Ling frowned, “So I called you here. You’re his sister, talk to him more, it might stimulate him.”

“I’m not good at this,” Shen Yan said, “Your dical team here is very professional.”

“They weren’t originally any dical team; they were doctors from various countries—ah, and military doctors too.”

Xiao Ling said this with a flicker of concealnt.

Shen Yan confird sothing else.

Xiao Ling’s identity might lean more toward an international organization, or, perhaps, an assassin.

“Are they sure?”

“About what?”

“Sure that talking more to him could stimulate him,” Shen Yan sat by the bed and looked at Shen Zheng.

Xiao Ling shook her head, “They’re not 100% sure.”

“So what are you going to do?” Shen Yan looked outside, through a window near the door where so people were seen organizing equipnt.

Xiao Ling gazed at Shen Yan for a mont following her line of sight to the window, and saw her comrades’ actions too, “Sorry, I didn’t an to let you see this.”

“I need to be sure about your actions.”

“This is our concern,” Xiao Ling squinted her eyes at Shen Yan, “Aren’t you afraid?”

“Of course I’m afraid,” Shen Yan adjusted the blanket for Shen Zheng, “Afraid that sothing might go wrong with him because of your actions.”

Xiao Ling couldn’t help but reassess the Shen Yan before her.

From the beginning of her contact with Shen Yan, and then entering here, there wasn’t a hint of emotional fluctuation; she seed to have foreseen everything, unnervingly calm.

Shen Yan knew Xiao Ling was scrutinizing her and did not avoid it, letting Xiao Ling look her fill.

When Xiao Ling finally withdrew her gaze, soone knocked on the door.

Xiao Ling then said to Shen Yan, “Our actions will not involve him again, Shen Yan, tomorrow morning we will arrange for soone to take you back to the production crew.”

“I’d rather you stayed to protect my brother, I don’t need it.”

Xiao Ling looked at her again for a while, “Alright, take care of yourself, and you can call this number if anything happens.”

She laid down a golden card with only a handwritten number.

Shen Yan took it.

Xiao Ling then opened the door, leaving the space for Shen Yan and Shen Zheng.

Shen Yan looked outside to see Xiao Ling entering another room with several others, clearly going into a eting.

“Big brother, I’m sorry.”

Shen Yan murmured softly to the person in the bed.

Shen Zheng was motionless.

Shen Yan hung her head down, overwheld with guilt, “I should have stopped you…”

The people around him couldn’t protect him at all.

Shen Yan gripped Shen Zheng’s sowhat cool hand, silently accompanying him.

Later, Xiao Ling also ca in to join Shen Yan by Shen Zheng’s side.

Xiao Ling was injured too, looking pale, but she still stayed by Shen Zheng’s side day and night, talking to him.

Shen Yan didn’t speak; the two won just silently kept vigil until dawn.

Shen Yan got up, and Xiao Ling followed suit.

“No need to see off, I know the way back, I’ll co over again after the recording,” Shen Yan furrowed her brow, rembering that Qi Si had ntioned he would co to pick her up early.

“Should I ask him to co over then?”

“But this…”

Seeing Shen Yan hesitating about sothing, Xiao Ling raised her eyebrow. “What’s the matter?”

“Nothing, I should leave,” Shen Yan glanced at the person on the bed one last ti and strode away.

The way she acted, it was as if the person lying on the bed wasn’t her own brother.

Xiao Ling felt sowhat uncomfortable.

Shen Yan’s behavior was unusual.

But concerning Shen Yan’s situation, Xiao Ling had learned so things about her when she was in China, which seed to explain why Shen Yan behaved the way she did.

Xiao Ling suspected that inviting Shen Yan over had been a mistake.

*

Xiao Ling arranged a car for Shen Yan, which sped back to the recording island.

She returned to her own place, right at dawn.

The pitch-dark sky was perfect to hide the shadows of her movents.

Shen Yan lay in bed for just an hour or two before it was bright outside.

The morning temperature was quite cold, making everyone reluctant to get up.

The recording was delayed by half an hour.

“Survival on a Desert Island” still adopted the team grouping.

Though there was an international live broadcast window, there were pitifully few international fans; however, the dostic live broadcast window was packed with fans.

It even glitched!

Especially Shen Yan’s live broadcast window, where fans started cursing seeing the buffering.

Director Li had run off to record abroad, preventing them from supporting live.

[Director Li must be afraid of being mobbed by our massive fan base.]

[I set several alarms just to catch Yanyan’s live stream, and it got delayed by half an hour!]

[Yanyan could have relied on her looks alone but chose to slap faces with her capability! Incredible!]

[Although “Survival on a Desert Island” is a bit overdone, with Yanyan, I love it!]

[Without Shen Yan, the last season was utterly miserable. Director Li, having invited Shen Yan this ti, must be paying her triple the amount.]

[Director Li: Do you think you can hire Shen Yan just by offering more money?]

[Shen Yan: Back then you blackened my reputation completely, today you are unworthy of reaching for !]

Shen Yan and Zhou Jingming were grouped together, their smiling faces towards the cara making the fans outside the screen green with envy, itching to jump into the screen and take Zhou Jingming’s place.

Aside from the fans, the man sitting in the Shencheng Qi Group’s office, his icy eyes narrowed even more dangerously.

He tugged on his collar restlessly, eyes fixated on the screen where Shen Yan was smiling beautifully, took a deep breath to suppress his feelings of jealousy.

What did Zhou Jingming have that he deserved such treatnt from Shen Yan.

Her smile should belong to him alone!

Qi Si refrained several tis before finally resisting the urge to slam down the tablet.

A knock from outside transmitted into the room, and Qi Si said coldly, “Co in.”

The person at the door hesitated, only sowhat familiar with President Da Qi, but could still sense the displeasure in his tone.

The person entered timidly, placing a stack of docunts down, “President Qi, this is…”

Qi Si coldly waved his hand, showing he had eyes to see.

The person quickly exited, closing the door with the care of handling a rare treasure.

Qi Si leaned back, watching Zhou Jingming who had once asked Shen Yan to dance through the screen, saw him intentionally moving closer to Shen Yan, and a cold glint flashed in Qi Si’s eyes.

“Snap!”

The tablet was eventually slamd down.

He had to find sothing to calm this unusual jealousy.

Then, Wang Jue who had stayed up all night, was woken up by the buzzing of his phone!
