Chapter 423: Chapter 418: Counterkill!
“Yanyan, what exactly is this?” Xiao Zhao, noticing Shen Yan’s expression wasn’t too good, guessed it certainly wasn’t anything good.
“Just a little object filled with white sand,” Shen Yan put it away. “I’ll find a place to toss it later.”
Xiao Zhao, seeing this, didn’t ask any more questions.
It was this incident that made Xiao Zhao even more careful with his belongings from then on.
Shen Yan played with the little trinket filled with white powder in his hand for a while and cracked a smile, “Really interesting.”
If Zhaoqing did this, that would be truly amusing!
Shen Yan’s eyes grew cold.
*
“Teacher Zhao! You acted that part very well,” in the afternoon, right after Zhaoqing had finished shooting a scene, Shen Yan walked up to him with a smile and complinted him.
Hearing Shen Yan’s praise, Zhaoqing showed a sowhat strange look in his eyes.
The assistant beside him silently shook his head.
Indicating that he also didn’t know why Shen Yan had suddenly beco so friendly.
“Thank you! I’ve seen your plays, your acting is very solid! Not inferior to mine.”
“Compared to Teacher Zhao, I, as a junior, still fall far short. Thanks to Teacher Zhao’s blessings this ti, I learned quite a lot of good stuff!”
Sohow, hearing Shen Yan’s words, Zhaoqing’s eyelids twitched abruptly.
“I’m glad I could help you!”
“I’m also very happy to have been able to interact with Teacher Zhao!” The smile on Shen Yan’s face was too brilliant, not making people feel warm but rather giving a bone-chilling illusion.
Shen Yan passed Zhaoqing as he walked forward, then naturally turned around after two steps and walked alongside Zhaoqing toward the periter, arriving at the machine to watch the scene that had just been shot with Director Kong and the others.
Shen Yan stood behind Zhaoqing, hands folded, sizing her up.
Zhaoqing stood straight, turned around, and t Shen Yan’s gaze; Shen Yan flashed her a smile.
Zhaoqing’s intuition told her, with Shen Yan’s smile appearing, sothing bad was about to happen…
The left eyelid twitched fiercely a few tis, Zhaoqing suppressed this unease, and walked to the other side with her assistant.
Shen Yan tactfully did not follow.
“What’s going on? Where’s the thing we put in there? Why didn’t anything happen?” Zhaoqing asked her assistant in a lowered voice.
The assistant shook his head, “I saw Shen Yan’s assistant constantly checking that luggage, and didn’t discover anything. But we clearly put it in there, how could it…”
“It must have fallen sowhere, go check again,” Zhaoqing was anxious to ruin Shen Yan and couldn’t wait for a few days.
Her assistant had advised her before that this matter could potentially be discovered.
Even if their thods were extrely covert, once things escalated and an investigation ensued, there would be traces left.
Now, seeing there was no movent on Shen Yan’s side, they beca anxious.
*
Not until the afternoon’s scenes were finished, and Shen Yan’s evening scenes were shot as well, only two or three days remained before he could leave the crew.
“Woo-lee! Woo-lee!”
Everyone had just finished work and hadn’t left when they heard a deafening siren sound coming from outside the crew.
Director Kong and the others were taken aback!
What had happened?
Zhaoqing and her assistant exchanged glances. Why would the police co at this ti?
Their actions hadn’t even officially started, yet they had already attracted the police?
However, they weren’t worried; even if that thing was discovered, it wouldn’t constitute any criminal activity.
So, everyone stopped and watched as a group of officers walked in through the wooden doors set up by the crew. Though they hadn’t done anything guilty, they couldn’t help but feel uneasy seeing the uniforms.
“Who is Shen Yan?”
As the officers walked in, their sharp gaze swept over, calling out Shen Yan’s na.
Everyone suddenly looked towards Shen Yan, their eyes carrying a hint of strangeness.
Subconsciously thinking, did Shen Yan make a mistake?
Then, everyone instinctively took a step back.
“They claid they had no relationship with Shen Yan at all.”
Shen Yan looked at the group with amusent and then raised her voice, “I am Shen Yan.”
“Handcuff her!”
No sooner had the voice dropped than two officers quickly stepped forward to cuff Shen Yan.
“Wait! Comrade officer, have you made a mistake? Our Yanyan has done nothing wrong. If you’re going to handcuff soone, there must be a reason, right?” Liu Su quickly grabbed the wrist of the officer holding the handcuffs. “She is a public figure. If you get this wrong, it could greatly impact her. Before you handcuff her, could we at least be inford?”
The officer’s face suddenly turned cold, and he ntioned sothing related to drugs.
Everyone was shocked!
Shen Yan slightly narrowed her eyes.
While everyone was shocked and their eyes were wide, another group of officers rushed in, saw the others, had a brief and quick conversation, then another officer ca out and asked, “Who is Zhaoqing?”
With a whoosh, countless eyes turned to look.
Zhaoqing raised her eyebrows, “I am Zhaoqing.”
“Search her!”
Two female officers quickly approached Zhaoqing and started searching her. Since the scene was set in modern tis, Zhaoqing was wearing her own clothes, so there was no process of changing out of costu after the scene.
“What is this…”
The item that was found was held up, and everyone’s faces changed drastically!
Even Zhaoqing herself was staring in disbelief.
What was it? She realized in an instant.
Shen Yan stood there expressionlessly, without making any move.
“Take these two away, the rest must be checked!”
This was no joking matter. The officers’ faces were even colder than before.
*
Police Station.
Shen Yan had all her checks done, and it turned out, she was innocent.
Two different parties had filed complaints, each pointing at two individuals.
Now, that item had been found on Zhaoqing’s person, with no fingerprints on it, the officers suspected Zhaoqing had wiped it.
But the tests proved it was genuine!
Zhaoqing’s charges were serious!
Shen Yan walked out, looked up at the moon hanging high, and laughed.
“Yanyan! Thank goodness, you’re fine! You scared to death.” Xiao Zhao was holding onto Shen Yan, whispering, “How did that stuff end up on Zhaoqing?”
“This isn’t the place to talk.”
Xiao Zhao imdiately shut his mouth.
*
Zhaoqing and her assistant were temporarily detained.
Although these two should have been convicted directly, because of their status, they were just held there, and the higher-ups were notified to co and fetch them.
They would probably arrive by tomorrow afternoon.
Zhaoqing, confined within, had a grim look that could drip water.
It was Shen Yan!
But how had Shen Yan managed to silently slide the item into her pocket?
She had been carrying that thing around for most of the day and hadn’t even noticed.
The more she thought about it, the more terrified she beca.
This ti she couldn’t escape, there was no surveillance at the scene, so it was impossible to recreate the mont Shen Yan had approached her.
How did Shen Yan even get her hands on this kind of stuff!
She hadn’t made a move against Shen Yan, yet she had been frad by Shen Yan in return, Zhaoqing was filled with rage!
But anger was useless, now she needed to think carefully. Once the higher-ups arrived, what should she answer, and what kind of solution would they provide her with!
Zhaoqing wished she could bite Shen Yan to death but had to forcefully suppress this burning rage.
