Chapter 268: Chapter 263: Shen Yan is Here! Chapter 268: Chapter 263: Shen Yan is Here! Perhaps due to his esteed status, Mu Jincheng’s face wasn’t looking too good when Shen Yan glanced his way.
“I was calling you just now; why didn’t you respond to ?”
Shen Yan gave him a look as if sizing up a lunatic and replied coldly, “If you’re sick, go get treatnt.”
“You…” Mu Jincheng’s face got even uglier. “How did you beco like this?”
Shen Yan didn’t spare him another glance and turned to head back to her car.
Mu Jincheng, like a persistent shadow, followed her. “Shen Yan, you wouldn’t talk like this before. I saw how you drove in ‘Extre Speed’; since when did you beco so skilled?”
The people waiting for Mu Jincheng were staring at them with strange looks.
In the company, Mu Jincheng was the wealthy heir everyone wanted to be close to, yet now, in front of Shen Yan, he seed to have dropped in intelligence, saying things that made no sense.
Shen Yan’s response was the forceful slam of her car door.
“Bang!”
With that, Shen Yan started the car and left him in a cloud of exhaust fus.
Mu Jincheng’s complexion visibly darkened.
“Shen Yan!”
The onlookers turned their faces away quietly.
What had they seen?
The Little President Mu, who never deigned to spare a glance at others in the company, just got cold-shouldered by a woman, even had a door slamd on him!
Those who knew about Mu Jincheng’s past in the entertainnt circle, they would occasionally flip through the gossip tabloids, hence they knew there had been that chase-and-run episode between Shen Yan and Mu Jincheng.
Wasn’t it said that Mu Jincheng disdained Shen Yan and she was the one eagerly chasing after him?
Why was it not like what the entertainnt gossip described?
Mu Jincheng, with a darkened face, turned back and stared at them icily, with an air that implied he might displace his anger onto soone else.
*
From the start to the end, Shen Yan paid no attention to Mu Jincheng’s efforts to approach her, resembling a dignified figure stooping low. She was observing her surroundings.
After driving a distance, she took out her phone to look up the club.
It opened at seven in the evening.
Closed during the day.
Shen Yan circled around the periter, looking at the towering skyscrapers, her eyes narrowing.
The club was the most likely spot.
The area was surrounded by upscale office buildings and various companies; the spending power had to be strong.
Choosing such a hidden location made it even more likely.
There’s a saying that goes, the more dangerous the place, the safer it is.
The things you least expect are often the most likely to happen.
Shen Yan selected a new direction, analyzing where they might be hiding, and once more circled around in her car.
She nearly covered all of Shen City in one day.
After nightfall.
Shen Yan drove back to the Night Club.
Qi Si had also received a piece of information.
At the Qi Family headquarters in Shen City.
Qi Si turned away from the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and hung up the phone as the door to his office was pushed open by his secretary, who had sothing to report.
“Whatever it is, wait,” he said.
“Are you leaving work now?” the secretary confird.
Qi Si nodded and, striding with long steps, quickly entered the private elevator.
Downstairs, his assistant and driver were already waiting.
“Traces have been tracked down, near the Dark Night Club.”
“Go there directly,” said Qi Si as he got into the car.
The assistant hesitated, “Are you going personally?”
“Is that a problem?”
“No,” the assistant dared not say there was.
The Dark Night Club had twelve floors, operating on a VIP mbership basis.
Of course.
Soone like Qi Si could enter just by showing his face, even if it wasn’t open.
The club was owned by the Bai Family.
Normally, company executives nearby or so other big shots would choose this club for secret etings, to talk business, or to indulge in less formal affairs!
It was a legitimate business venue.
Shen Yan parked her car and saw luxury vehicles arriving nearby from ti to ti, and beautiful receptionists greeted guests at the entrance to the club.
Their appearances were not at all inferior to those female stars in the entertainnt industry.
They were dressed appropriately, not like those improper greeters.
The entrance to the club conveyed a sense of decency with a hint of romantic charm.
Most of the n who entered the club were dressed in proper attire.
Shen Yan watched for a while and noticed one or two won who had tied up their hair. Shen Yan then pinned up her own hair, donned a short wig, applied makeup, and dressed in a style that had a mature woman vibe before getting out of her car.
She was holding a bag that made her look like a noblewoman who had just co from so wine party!
As she approached the entrance, the staff, seeing a new face, were about to stop her, but Shen Yan unexpectedly pulled out a VIP mbership card and swiped it over the entrance scanner.
The receptionist imdiately welcod her inside with a radiant smile.
Just as Shen Yan entered, Qi Si’s car arrived.
“Mr. Qi, maybe we should go in. This kind of place…” The assistant hadn’t finished speaking when Qi Si had already gotten out of the car.
Qi Si’s tall and slender figure passed through the parking channel and headed toward the club’s entrance.
Suddenly,
he stopped.
His gaze fell on the familiar black sedan, and his deep black eyes narrowed slightly.
Shen Yan is here!
Mr. Qi’s eyebrows imperceptibly furrowed, his eyes cold.
The bodyguard following him felt a chill and a sense of dread.
*
Shen Yan headed upstairs as soon as she got inside.
The card she held granted her access to the top floor.
Upon reaching the twelfth floor and exiting the elevator, she faced a winding corridor, much like a maze.
It was much quieter than the floors below.
As she ca out of the elevator, a scanning red light appeared.
It confird her privilege to the floor and then receded.
The security seed rather sophisticated.
Shen Yan had taken only a few steps forward when she heard footsteps inside. Quickly, she turned and chose a different corridor.
Looking up at a cara, she flicked a small device from her hand, turning the cara away. She caught the device back in her hand without pause and entered the nearby won’s restroom.
As soon as she was about to remove the items from her body, she heard voices outside.
“President Qi! This way! It’s truly an honor for our Bai Family’s Night Club to have President Qi visit. I could hardly believe it when they told at the entrance!” An experienced voice, filled with flattery, laughed as it spoke.
President Qi?
Shen Yan was startled!
She neared the restroom door and peered out through the crack.
She saw a tall figure passing by the front!
Startled, she recoiled backward.
Why is Qi Si here?
“What’s the matter?” asked the voice, puzzled.
Outside,
Qi Si narrowed his cold, black eyes, glancing in the direction of the won’s restroom door.
Withdrawing his gaze, Qi Si said, “I’ve heard that Mr. Bai’s Night Club is very popular. I’ve co upon hearing its reputation.”
The middle-aged man addressed as Mr. Bai laughed uneasily, “It’s nothing much, just a small venture. It can’t compare to the Qi Club.”
Qi Si followed him inside, and soon, various big nas from Shen City erged, all revolving around Qi Si and even flattering him.
Shen Yan waited for the voices to fade before suppressing the tension in her heart and running from the twelfth floor to the eleventh.
This floor wasn’t as quiet and even had VIP rooms.
Walking down a bit, she saw several tightly closed rooms.
This place even has rooms for resting…
“This lady…”
A waiter erged from the side, “This area is for resting, and the rooms have been rented out. If you need to stay, please check in at the front desk!”
The waiter politely pointed to the reception desk that was on the side.
Shen Yan followed the waiter towards the reception when suddenly the door to one of the luxurious boxes flung open, and a figure erged.
This dramatic scene unfolded before her eyes.
The person who ca out was none other than Yang Fei, whom she had been seeking!
