The afternoon sun was very bright.

Jiang Lingxi lay on the recliner basking in the sun, almost comfortably drifting off to sleep.

However, right next to her, Shen Yunqing and Aibosi Koli were sitting at a small tea table, sipping tea and conversing in low voices. They were discussing the international brand endorsents that Tong Yue had talked to her about in the morning. Lingxi kept her ears open to listen in.

It all started because Jiang Lingxi casually asked Shen Yunqing to investigate the brands Tong Yue had sent her. She wanted to learn more initially. Coincidentally, when Aibosi Koli dropped by, she joined in, giving her opinions.

Even Tong Yue, still experiencing international first-class cabin service on a flight, probably didn’t expect it. She initially intended for Jiang Lingxi to decide on which endorsent to take. Not all brands, such as car and watch brands, could be chosen, and certainly only one of the two jewelry brands.

The brand representatives might not have expected that the person advising their potential spokesperson was Ms. Aibosi Koli.

They stopped talking only when they heard footsteps at the door.

Jiang Lingxi opened her half-closed eyes, slowly sitting up to look over.

Vini was leading the way, followed by a man around thirty years old, with a handso face and well-dressed. However, the edge of his clothes was a bit wrinkled, ruining the overall harmony.

It was no surprise; he should be the Gu Family mber ntioned by Aibosi Koli. Gu Weizhen, the Gu Family’s fourth master, and Gu Qiantong’s uncle.

As for Gu Qiantong, he was being dragged in by two bodyguards, one holding her arms on each side. She probably scread a lot on the way here, as one of the bodyguards had his hand covering her mouth the whole ti.

Afraid to co? Understandable.

First, she commits a guilty act and then witnesses her dare to kill soone with her own hands.

Gu Qiantong was probably still terrified of being straightforwardly killed herself.

Jiang Lingxi: She definitely wouldn’t do sothing so impulsive.

Wu Hua had to be killed; it was either her or with them.

As for Gu Qiantong, she had to consider the realistic factors.

She wasn’t as detestable as Wu Hua, who had to be killed to settle things. But her actions indeed disgusted her, not to ntion causing Shen Yunqing’s injury.

Whether the Gu Family’s old man ca to negotiate personally or sent soone else, they shouldn’t expect Jiang Lingxi to let Gu Qiantong off lightly.

Before Jiang Lingxi looked over, Gu Weizhen had already seen the three people sitting in the courtyard.

He had t Mrs. Aibosi Koli before, but he had only seen photos of the other two.

He thought that Mrs. Aibosi Koli, the oldest of the three, would have the strongest presence and aura.

However, it turned out to be the opposite.

Sitting alone on the rocking chair, this Miss Jiang clearly had the most relaxed and lazy posture among the three. But when she slowly raised her gaze to look at him, for a mont, he even felt firmly locked by a gaze as substantial as substance, as if he were facing a bottomless pit of unforeseeable crisis.

It wasn’t until the gaze moved away that he felt he had regained control of his body, realizing his back was already soaked with sweat.

His heart was filled with shock.

It was his first ti feeling such pressure from a girl about the sa age as his grandniece.

The other party hadn’t even spoken a word to him, just glanced at him.

This was a big problem!

Before any negotiation and apology could comnce, Gu Weizhen silently recited in his heart.

Then he glanced at Shen Yunqing, sitting next to Jiang Lingxi.

This person had a peaceful and low-key deanor; if the forr radiated sharpness, then this one concealed a blade within, making it even harder to gauge his depth.

What kind of people had they provoked? None was easy to deal with.

"Gu Weizhen from the Gu Family extends greetings to Mrs. Aibosi, Miss Jiang, and Mr. Shen."

Aibosi Koli just nodded without speaking, indicating her position that she was only an accompanint here and that the main focus lay with the other two.

Gu Weizhen’s heart sank further at her response.

The Gu Family shared a tenuous friendship with the Aibosi family, but they had none with Jiang Lingxi and Shen Yunqing.

Aibosi Koli first joined the other side in advance and now showed no desire to converse much with him, evidently determined not to speak on behalf of the Gu Family, even aligning herself with Jiang Lingxi and Shen Yunqing.

It seed after this, the friendship between the Gu Family and the Aibosi family would end!

Honestly, at this mont, he felt like throttling Gu Qiantong.

What terrible thing had she done?!

Bracing himself, he spoke again: "Qiantong made a mistake. When his father learned about it, he was furious and instructed to bring her back to strictly discipline her. She must not leave the house until she learns to behave. Please, Mrs. Aibosi, Miss Jiang, and Mr. Shen, forgive her rashness and imprudence this ti on behalf of the Gu Family."

"Additionally, these are the gifts and compensation the Gu Family offers to you."

The assistant standing behind Gu Weizhen with a briefcase helpfully took out several docunts, which Gu Weizhen took a few steps forward to hand over with both hands.

He instinctively handed them to Jiang Lingxi first.

But Jiang Lingxi didn’t accept them.

Ridiculous, she’d need her hands to move to do that.

Not knowing the situation, Gu Weizhen’s arms grew tired. He forced a smile, "Does Miss Jiang not accept? What kind of gift would you like?"

Jiang Lingxi did not intend to make things difficult for Gu Weizhen. Even within a family, so mbers were good and so bad. There were those like Gu Qiantong, who used their family status for evil, and there were those before her who clearly had pure intentions and were simply here to clean up a family ss. She wasn’t fond of bla-shifting.

"Give it to him, I can’t move my hands."

Only then did Gu Weizhen notice the quite abnormal state of Jiang Lingxi’s hands.

Her presence was so overwhelming that even as he approached, he instinctively dared not look too closely.

He handed the docunts to Shen Yunqing, and upon seeing them accepted, he sighed with relief.

But it was premature to relax.

Jiang Lingxi looked at Gu Qiantong, still held by the bodyguards, "This isn’t enough."

Gu Weizhen felt a catch in his chest, "Then what else does Miss Jiang wish for?"

Seeing Gu Qiantong stiffen under her gaze, Jiang Lingxi averted her eyes to Changning, who had just returned from outside, "Changning."

Changning approached Jiang Lingxi swiftly, unaffected by the serious and sowhat tense atmosphere in the yard, "What can I do for you, Sister Xi?"

"Are you short of people on your side?"

"We are, short on helpers. Even though Zhang Ying and Chang Fu ca over, it’s still not quite enough. I was considering calling Yun Yi over to bolster our numbers, so I could hand over so of the dirty and tiring work to him."

Jiang Lingxi: "...I do have a candidate."

"Who?"

Bright-eyed at the prospect, Changning followed Jiang Lingxi’s indication, and upon realizing who she ant, almost choked on her own saliva, "Ahem, you don’t an Gu Qiantong, do you?"

They were dealing with matters far from normal human affairs.

Yun Yi, at least, had been with them during the Underground Ancient Tomb expedition, so he wasn’t short of courage or insight.

But what could this Miss Gu do? If she encountered sothing indescribable, she might faint straight away!

Jiang Lingxi imdiately discerned her concerns and reminded, "You forgot who she collaborated with before."

A spark lit in Changning’s eyes.

She had been biased, thinking only of the other as a wealthy heiress.

Clearly, anyone daring to collaborate with Wu Hua had guts.

"Happenstance there, Wu Hua’s side needs soone on watch."

"Then it’s her!" Jiang Lingxi and Changning exchanged a smile, both turning to look at Gu Weizhen, still waiting for her response, "Gu Qiantong created quite so trouble for us. I intend to keep her around for a while as an extra pair of hands."

Listening to the pair, Gu Qiantong realized they intended to have her watch over Wu Hua’s eerie corpse, her eyes almost popping out in fright. She hurriedly glanced at her uncle for help, "Mmm mmm mmm!"

No way!
