Xu Ling’an was a bit baffled as she looked at Changning who appeared in front of her.

She had received a call from her sister early in the morning, knowing that her sister didn’t plan to take a few days off to recuperate at ho but intended to return to school imdiately, and said she would introduce a friend for her to et.

She thought she would have to wait until school let out, at noon or in the evening during dinner, to et this person. Unexpectedly, as soon as she stepped out, she found the person already waiting outside.

"I heard Sister Xi call you An’an. I’m two years older than you, so I’ll call you An’an too." Changning familiarly held Xu Ling’an’s arm and provided the reason for her presence before being asked, "Just so happens I’m free these days, a bit bored, so Sister Xi introduced this job to , to look after you."

Just as Xu Ling’an opened her mouth, Changning smilingly preempted her again: "I heard that cafeteria food at Hua University is not inferior to restaurant food. An’an, you just need to cover my three als a day!"

Xu Ling’an instinctively felt it wasn’t this simple.

It wasn’t until she got to school, attended the morning classes with Changning by her side, that they ca out of the classroom with her roommates to go to the cafeteria for lunch.

On the unavoidable path from the Computer Science Building to the cafeteria, a figure suddenly moved against the flow and rushed straight to Xu Ling’an.

"An’an, Aunt begs you, Aunt will kneel to you, please let your cousin go, okay? Look, you can still attend classes normally, if you don’t relent, your cousin’s life would be ruined!"

"Aunt assures you that as long as you agree to reconcile, your uncle and I will send her far away, send her abroad, ensuring she’ll never bother you again."

"We’re all family, why must it co to this?"

Xu Ling’an was stunned by this sudden outburst.

When she ca to her senses, she saw the woman in tears and snot, no longer having the graceful deanor from their last eting, bending her knees in what seed a real attempt to kneel on the ground.

She then noticed the surrounding classmates, who had halted due to the disturbance, so of whom even took out their phones to take pictures or videos.

Not taking other matters into account, she hurriedly reached out to help.

Lin Yi was, after all, a nominal elder; she couldn’t actually let her kneel under so many watchful eyes.

But this ti, Lin Yi was truly desperate, especially with her husband watching not far away.

If the goal was not achieved and there really ended up being a daughter in jail, not to ntion her husband losing face in the business world, which good daughter would want a sister-in-law bound for prison, ruining her son’s marriage prospects as well.

Seeing Xu Ling’an unwilling to let her kneel, Lin Yi gritted her teeth and prepared to make a loud kowtow, the more miserable she appeared, the better.

The wound on Xu Ling’an’s arm had ford a thin scab over the course of a night. In the morning, Changning had dragged her to the infirmary to apply dication again and replaced it with more breathable band-aids. But in the mix of tension and force, a cut near the wrist reopened.

Upon hearing a slight hiss from behind, Changning quickened her pace a few steps. Just as Lin Yi’s knees were about to hit the cobbled path, Changning grabbed the back of her collar and lifted her straight up.

With destiny’s collar gripped, the words on Lin Yi’s lips turned into a ’gah’, and even as her feet touched the ground, she tried to kneel but couldn’t do so under the grip.

Soon after, a snide laugh echoed in her ears, "Sister Xi was really perceptive, she guessed you two would seize a chance to plead directly with An’an in person. What’s this, trying to use moral coercion in front of so many people? That abacus of yours is hitting in the face!"

"Gah!"

Lin Yi couldn’t even manage to roll her eyes successfully, wishing desperately for a mont to breathe!

"Don’t worry, let’s find a quiet place to chat further. Doing this now, don’t you know you’re delaying a good student’s al?"

The crowd: "It’s no delay!"

Yet, watching in awe as a slender girl effortlessly lifted what appeared to be a person over a hundred pounds with just one hand, everyone unanimously stayed silent.

Zhang Anfeng stood behind a century-old tree not far away, watching as his wife was interrupted by a ddleso girl, angrily kicking the tree trunk beside him.

Being close, Xu Ling’an heard what Changning said when she exposed Lin Yi from the beginning.

It dawned on her in an instant.

She figured her sister had her reasons behind whatever she did.

This ti, sending this young lady nad Changning over, taking care of her was secondary.

The main purpose was predicting Lin Yi might confront her, the victim, directly, to thwart this Lin woman’s moral coercion in public.

With one hand continuing to pull the still-struggling Lin Yi, Changning headed to the small pavilion in the nearby garden, glancing casually towards Zhang Anfeng’s hiding place.

When Zhang Anfeng subconsciously pulled back his head, only to realize with an unpleasant face; being so far away, how could she have noticed him? It shouldn’t be!

Xu Ling’an followed behind Changning, and after a silent exchange of glances, the remaining two roommates tagged along.

Partly out of curiosity about what was really happening, and mostly because their youngest didn’t say they couldn’t follow.

However, it seed embarrassing for other onlookers to follow, as it was clear the issue was to be resolved privately, and they hadn’t cultivated the thick skin for that.

Entering the small pavilion shaded by greenery, Changning decisively let go of her hand, "Now you can kneel, kneel as long as you want."

Lin Yi’s face was already a purplish shade from holding breath, but she dared not glare at Changning, fearing she’d reach out and grab her collar again.

All she could do was cough and look pleadingly at Xu Ling’an, "An’an, even if you don’t think for us, you must think for your grandfather. He’s so old, imagine how troubled his heart must be now. All it takes is a letter of forgiveness, just a letter, why such a hard heart?"

She and her husband ca betting on Xu Ling’an’s young age and soft heart, hoping that their sudden pleading might leave a chance to succeed in getting a forgiveness letter.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Lingxi had predicted their intention and specifically sent soone to watch over Xu Ling’an first.

Being interrupted midway had greatly reduced the effect, but she still neither wished nor could afford to give up, and could only use the grandfather for pressure.

But Xu Ling’an had cald completely by the short distance to the pavilion, not wanting to waste her sister’s intentions. Now seeing Lin Yi drag her grandfather in, her gaze remained unshaken, coldly replying: "If it weren’t for my sister video calling yesterday and reminding in ergency, I would have already been heavily injured by your daughter, or worse ... your words are useless, don’t try to pressure with grandpa; saying no forgiveness ans never forgiving. Jail is the punishnt Zhang Lingxuan deserves."

"Aren’t you afraid I would post about you sending your own cousin to jail online for the world to see, how would your teachers and classmates think of you then?"

"Then go ahead and post it, anyway I’m usually busy studying and rarely go online. Plus, I believe any fair-minded person knows these things! As for those who use familial ties to call ruthless, I hope soday they find a so-called ’family’ knife stabbed in their own flesh and see if it hurts. Let them criticize, I won’t see it online, and won’t care even if told in person."

Seeing Xu Ling’an’s eyes, like Jiang Lingxi standing in front of her for a mont, Lin Yi suddenly had a mont of disquiet, nearly mistaking the person in front of her.
