The three brothers of the Yuan Family turned to leave.

They weren’t thick-skinned enough to enjoy watching a couple’s public display of affection.

As for reporting back to the old man, they decided to simply say that Miss Gu was interested in the Shen Family mber and not them.

Though the situation was different from what they had initially expected, it was certainly more exciting.

Just two words, satisfied!

Cao Xinyan ca running over, panting as she stopped.

Seeing the two not far away sitting side by side in harmony, her heart sank.

Rushing all the way here, was she still too late?

Should she continue with the original plan? How should she carry on now?

Jiang Xiyu, having received Mr. Han’s permission, was about to find a place to relax when she noticed Cao Xinyan looking sowhat dejected.

Following the direction of Cao Xinyan’s gaze, she imdiately understood a few things.

Her eyes turned, and a plan ford in her mind.

She realized she couldn’t get close to Shen Yunqing. She hadn’t succeeded before and certainly wouldn’t succeed now.

But seeing the couple’s blissful look was still an eyesore.

If she could cause a little trouble, it would be good enough.

"Miss Cao, why do you look so downcast? Did sothing unpleasant happen? I’m free; do you want to talk?"

Cao Xinyan turned her head to see Jiang Xiyu speaking to her. Noticing there were no caras around, she didn’t bother to put on an expression and replied coldly, "It’s none of your business."

After saying that, she wanted to get away from her.

She didn’t want to be photographed standing with soone who enjoyed the spotlight.

Jiang Xiyu imdiately saw her intent, so she reached out and amicably linked arms with her, leaning closer as Cao Xinyan instinctively tried to pull away, and whispered, "I know you have feelings for Mr. Shen."

Cao Xinyan froze suddenly, her most buried secret exposed, and her face couldn’t help but show panic.

"What nonsense are you saying!"

"Ha, your instinctive reaction can’t fool anyone. Actually, I think you are more suitable than Jiang Lingxi."

Cao Xinyan forgot to struggle montarily, "What do you an?"

"I really think so. Just think, you’re the granddaughter of the president of the Calligraphy and Painting Association, from an artistic family, and you’ve been learning music, chess, calligraphy, and painting since childhood. Isn’t that the standard setup for a well-bred lady? But Jiang Lingxi, her family only has a pair of bankrupt parents, she hasn’t even graduated from college, and it’s just her looks that give her an edge. What does she have that can compare to you?" Seeing Cao Xinyan deep in thought, Jiang Xiyu inwardly sneered and continued to persuade, "Don’t you think you’re more qualified to be Mr. Shen’s girlfriend than Jiang Lingxi is?"

"I, I really..."

"Here’s the thing, this is a live broadcast today. I’ll find a way to keep Jiang Lingxi away, and you seize the opportunity to go over and talk to Mr. Shen. As long as the caras catch you two together, you can make the audience believe whatever you say!"

Cao Xinyan originally planned sothing similar; she never dared think she could really have sothing with Mr. Shen, just hoping to leverage his fa a bit.

But now, swayed by Jiang Xiyu’s words, she was directly tempted.

Yet, she retained a shred of sanity: "This is our first eting. Why are you helping ?"

Jiang Xiyu squinted and smiled, "You dislike Jiang Lingxi."

Cao Xinyan’s heart skipped a beat.

Then she heard Jiang Xiyu’s next words: "Conveniently, I dislike her too. Helping you is serving my interest as well."

Cao Xinyan believed this.

After all, when this person first entered the industry, she was labeled as the ’Little Jiang Lingxi.’

But who would be happy being a copy when they could be unique!

"Alright, I’ll wait for you to keep her away."

"Just watch.

After the two reached an agreent, they exchanged a look before turning away nonchalantly.

A while later, Zhang Lingxuan stepped out from behind a crystal lampstand, her gaze darkly following their departure as she drained her glass of red wine.

It wasn’t until recently that she realized she found Jiang Xiyu unpleasant to look at.

In profile, this person did bear so resemblance to Jiang Lingxi.

Perhaps she was transferring her hatred by association.

But since Jiang Xiyu wanted to target Jiang Lingxi, she was happy to offer so assistance to this Jiang person.

Following behind Jiang Xiyu, Zhang Lingxuan was almost amused when she saw Jiang planning to use the little girl beside her grandfather to keep Jiang Lingxi away.

Despite her face, she had to admit Jiang Xiyu’s thods were to her taste!

From the mont Xu Ling’an arrived at the party, she rembered her sister and grandfather’s instructions not to drink or wander away, sticking close to her grandfather.

Especially knowing that Zhang Lingxuan was attending the party, she didn’t even let go of her wine glass.

Jiang Xiyu’s initial plan was to bribe one of the on-site waitstaff to cause Xu Ling’an to have a minor accident. That way, Jiang Lingxi would inevitably check on her as a caring sister. Then it would be up to Cao Xinyan’s performance.

What she hadn’t anticipated was that the waitstaff hired by the Yuan Family this ti were quite professional, subtly refusing when she made an ambiguous suggestion.

So, she had to handle it herself.

Zhang Lingxuan, realizing what Jiang was up to, cursed her for being useless.

After all her confident talk to Cao Xinyan earlier, Jiang evidently lacked courage and initiative.

But rely sustaining a minor injury wasn’t enough; she wished Xu Ling’an would disappear altogether, and then, without a granddaughter, their grandfather would have to acknowledge her.

Recalling the disdainful look her grandfather shot when disowning her earlier in the corridor made Zhang Lingxuan’s eyes even colder.

This ti, she wouldn’t act personally. Since soone else harbored ill will against that brat, she could make use of others to achieve her aim.

Xu Ling’an obediently sat by, listening to her grandfather discuss calligraphy and painting, occasionally glancing toward her sister and brother-in-law. Twice, she even accidentally made eye contact with her sister.

About to look over again, she felt a gentle tug on her dress hem.

Lowering her head, she t a pair of large, bright eyes. The child was so cute she couldn’t help but pat his head, "Little one, where are your parents?"

"Big sister, big sister, my ball is missing; it rolled over there, and I’m scared of the dark. I don’t dare to get it!"

Following the chubby little finger’s direction, she saw it pointed toward the open-air balcony.

There were small night lamps, but the light was blocked by large plants, making it darker, understandably scaring a kid.

"You stay here and don’t move. I’ll fetch it for you."

"Thank you, big sister."

"No problem."

Smiling, Xu Ling’an stood, set her glass down, and walked toward the balcony.

Seeing Xu Ling’an approaching, Jiang Xiyu, who lay hidden on a corner of the balcony, rejoiced.

Her efforts to discreetly kick the little one’s ball this way and draw him to Xu Ling’an had paid off, getting her to co over on a helpful whim!
