"What are you looking at?" Lin Yi couldn’t help but shift her position under that direct gaze, "I’m talking about you."

A poorly fitted suit, a fresh buzz cut like he just got out of prison, a scar on his face—either a punk with nothing better to do or a mischievous rascal.

Her restaurant never catered to such uncultured guests.

Xu Lei was puzzled, "No, Auntie, who are you? Can’t I wait for soone here?"

"Who are you calling Auntie?" Lin Yi’s neatly drawn eyebrows involuntarily raised, "I’m the owner here. I say no, so no. Hurry up and leave. How could you even stand at the entrance of my restaurant?"

Being ordered by the old man to co out early and wait at the door had already made her displeased. Now seeing such a young man who obviously didn’t seem like a good person made her even more furious.

Normally she would calmly instruct security to evict soone, but now, she just wanted to scold soone to vent her anger!

Xu Lei kicked away the lion statue in front of him, frowning as he stood up, "You’re the owner here, you..."

Rembering An’an ntioning a restaurant run by an aunt he hadn’t t, Xu Lei cast a scrutinizing glance.

An’an’s aunt not only looked down on him but from the way it seed, her temper wasn’t great either, which was... not good!

Seeing that the punk not only didn’t leave from her scolding but was coming closer, Lin Yi quickly stepped back two paces, yelling while appearing brave, "What are you doing? Stop right there! If you don’t leave, I’ll call security!"

Xu Lei stopped a ter away from her and held back what he wanted to say, "I’m really waiting for soone here."

He hadn’t noticed when he was crouching, but now standing, she realized this young punk was taller than her own son, his muscles tightly stretching his suit, dousing more than half of Lin Yi’s fury, "Couldn’t you wait sowhere further away?"

Zhang Anfeng, who ca out a few minutes late because his dad held him up for a talk, saw a young man of imposing stature standing in front of his wife and quickly took a few fast steps toward them, "What’s going on?"

Feeling emboldened with backup, Lin Yi quickly clung to her husband’s arm, "Honey, I just ca out and saw this guy squatting at the entrance, gave a scare!"

Xu Lei: "..."

He looked toward the newly arrived gentleman who seed to be An’an’s uncle.

He swallowed back his words explaining that he was An’an’s brother.

Wanting to see if this man’s temper was similar to his wife’s.

Though Zhang Anfeng wasn’t impressed with the young man before him either, he wouldn’t show it as directly as his wife, "Are you here to eat at my wife’s restaurant? Alone? I’d suggest checking out Lin Fu Restaurant’s prices online before deciding."

Though his smile was a bit forced, he managed to maintain a relatively courteous tone. Xu Lei nodded to show he understood, patiently replying, "I’ve already explained twice to your wife that I’m waiting for soone here."

"Oh? You’re eting soone here..."

Zhang Anfeng’s words were interrupted by a voice calling from across the street.

"Brother Xiaolei!"

Xu Lei quickly turned around to see An’an waving at him, along with her grandmother and Miss Jiang standing beside her. He raised a hand in response.

As the three of them crossed the street, he turned back to the couple behind him, "See, I really am waiting for soone. They’re finally here!"

"Brother Xiaolei, why did you co so early? Is work at the store done?"

Xu Lei ruffled Xu Ling’an’s hair, "No worries, I took ti off from the boss."

"Why are you wearing a suit? Looks pretty sharp, I must say."

"Right? It was quite expensive, had to buy it on sale, but it’s a bit tight. Besides, for today’s occasion, I decided to dress up a bit."

After the siblings teasingly bantered, Xu Lei turned to Gao Lan and Jiang Lingxi, respectfully greeting them, "Grandma, Miss Jiang."

Zhang Anfeng and Lin Yi watched in place as the three approached and ford a group of four.

Then they looked at the young girl dressed in a pale yellow dress, delicate, well-mannered, and clearly under twenty years old, as well as the older girl beside her, who, even standing quietly, was strikingly beautiful.

The titles being called out, Miss Jiang, and the elder called Grandma...

The couple suddenly had a frightening realization.

Could this possibly be...

In the next second, the young punk turned around, "Oh right, An’an, these two are the owners of this restaurant."

Facing the eyes of the young girl called An’an, and recalling what she’d said to her brother just now, Lin Yi felt her vision darken.

But it was Xu Ling’an who spoke first, "Hello."

This greeting finally jolted the couple out of their deep embarrassnt.

Zhang Anfeng forced a smile and nodded, "You must be An’an, right? You’ve really grown into a young lady, looking so much like your mother. I’m your uncle, and this is your aunt. Your grandfather, with his leg issue, is waiting in a private room. Your cousin and her husband haven’t arrived yet, they called saying they have a surgery to attend to, and will co over once done. Your cousin brother is also on his way from the airport."

"And this must be Auntie Gao, hello, hello, appreciate all your effort."

Gao Lan handed over the box of mooncakes in her hand, "Not hard at all, An’an has been sensible since she was a child. These mooncakes are homade, not very costly."

Zhang Anfeng glanced at his wife, and only then did Lin Yi begrudgingly step forward to accept the bag, pausing to add an insincere comnt: "I’m sure they’re delicious."

No way was she eating them!

"And this must be Miss Jiang, truly worthy of an actress’s charm, gracing our restaurant’s entrance with radiance!"

Zhang Anfeng, during his flings outside, wasn’t unacquainted with a few minor celebrities. Pretty faces, after seeing so many, all felt the sa.

But before him was soone truly srizing.

Cautious around his wife, he redirected his gaze after a couple of looks. "Well then, let’s all go inside! Auntie Gao, mind the steps."

In today’s gathering, Xu Ling’an was undoubtedly the main focus, and Gao Lan, as an elder, was also surrounded at the center.

Jiang Lingxi and Xu Lei naturally fell a step behind.

She turned her head to see the young guy pulling faces and winking discreetly at the couple in front, recalling seeing him talking to them when she alighted before, "How long have you been here?"

Xu Lei was montarily taken aback before realizing Miss Jiang was addressing him, hastily sobering his expressions to answer earnestly, "Not long, just under ten minutes."

"What did you talk to them about?" Jiang Lingxi motioned ahead.

"Nothing much," Xu Lei murmured, "I was waiting for you all, and they were urging to wait elsewhere."

Jiang Lingxi imdiately understood what had happened before their arrival.

No wonder the couple had such unnatural expressions upon learning their identities.

Frankly, now having t Zhang Nachuan’s eldest son and his daughter-in-law in person, she couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed.

Their outward politeness just now was perford passably, but the disdain in one’s eyes when accepting the mooncake, the greasy, adhesive look cast her way by the other, couldn’t escape her notice.

Zhang Nachuan’s accomplishnts in the field of painting and calligraphy were beyond reproach, but in terms of raising his offspring, it was clear that quite a bit was lacking!

And such a couple, would they truly accept An’an, their niece, with open hearts?

Though it was their first eting, and only took place for a few minutes, gleaning such insights led Jiang Lingxi to honestly feel, the situation wasn’t looking too favorable!
