Two taxis, one in front of the other, almost simultaneously stopped at the gate of the Juvenile Detention Center.

Jiang Lingxi looked over and saw Jiang Wenhu and Jiang Runcheng getting out of the taxi in front, so she walked over to greet them.

Shen Yunqing followed her, and upon arrival, after Jiang Lingxi called out to her parents, she also greeted them, addressing them as Uncle and Auntie.

Jiang Wenhu responded with a smile, her face full of joy.

Seeing her son about to co ho, and her daughter and son-in-law being loving and harmonious, she was so happy she almost wanted to cry.

Jiang Runcheng struggled to maintain the dignity of the head of the family, and his face, reddened by recent drinking, slightly eased, "Yunqing, you’re so busy, yet you made the effort to co."

"It’s the right thing to do."

"Let’s go in." Jiang Lingxi said, turning halfway around when her peripheral vision caught the sight of a figure getting out of the other taxi, causing her to pause.

Shen Yunqing was the first to notice and imdiately followed her gaze.

Upon seeing the small figure in the faded school uniform, her eyebrows slightly raised.

Sowhat familiar.

The next mont, Jiang Lingxi called out, "An’an."

Shen Yunqing held her breath.

Xu Ling’an, being called, beca more flustered.

She had just gotten out of the car and hadn’t noticed that among the people gathered not far away were so she knew, until she was called by the familiar voice and instinctively looked over, making eye contact with her sister.

Hesitating for a few seconds, she then jogged over, "Sister."

After the initial surprise, Shen Yunqing returned to her usual composed self, only with a barely noticeable scrutiny in her gaze when looking at the girl who resembled Princess Jin’an, while Jiang Wenhu and Jiang Runcheng began to be amazed.

"Xiao Xi, since when did you have a sister?"

Even as parents, they weren’t aware!

"I acknowledged her myself." Jiang Lingxi briefly explained, now more curious about why the girl appeared here, "It’s Tuesday. Why aren’t you at school? What brings you here?"

"I, I’m here to pick soone up." Xu Ling’an cautiously glanced at Jiang Lingxi’s expression and, seeing no unusual response, continued to explain, "I have a neighbor brother who accidentally hurt soone to save , and today’s the day he’s released from the Juvenile Detention Center."

Jiang Lingxi wanted to ask what danger had occurred back then, serious enough to be detained, surely not a small matter, but now was clearly not the ti to discuss it, "Perfect timing, let’s go in together."

Xu Ling’an looked at the three people asuring her and hesitated, "Are you here to pick soone up too, sister?"

"Yes, here to pick up my brother, he’s also released today. By the way, these are my parents, and this is..." When introducing Shen Yunqing, Jiang Lingxi paused.

If Jiang Wenhu and Jiang Runcheng weren’t here, she could have said friend, but with them both here, she had to honestly admit his identity, "Shen Yunqing, my, boyfriend!"

Shen Yunqing struggled to hold back the smile that was curling up on his lips.

Xu Ling’an’s mouth was open wide enough to fit an egg.

Not until Jiang Lingxi patted her shoulder did she co to her senses, imdiately bowing politely to Jiang Wenhu and Jiang Runcheng, "Hello Uncle and Auntie, I’m Xu Ling’an."

Then she looked at her sister’s boyfriend, "Hello, brother-in-law."

Hearing the na, Shen Yunqing felt more clear-hearted, though unaware of how the two knew each other, it did not stop him from thinking the na brother-in-law sounded especially pleasant, "Hello."

After submitting their identification at the gate, a staff mber went inside to notify.

Before long, the five people waiting at the gate saw two figures walking side by side towards them.

Jiang Wenhu couldn’t wait for her son to get closer before calling out, "Xiao Xu!"

Jiang Lingxu sped up his steps towards the gate, with Xu Lei closely following, "Look, my sister ca too, she’s the one in the school uniform."

Jiang Lingxu gave a glance, making eye contact with a pair of smiling eyes, montarily stunned, then his gaze fell behind Jiang Lingxi.

When he entered the Juvenile Detention Center, his sister was neither married nor had a boyfriend.

It wasn’t until half a year ago when his mom visited him, that the first thing she said was his sister had registered her marriage, and without even having a wedding, quietly settled the marriage.

To say, they were eting formally as brother-in-law and little brother-in-law for the first ti.

But having a little brother-in-law like him, soone as wealthy as his brother-in-law, would probably feel ashad!

Thinking this, Jiang Lingxu hesitated in his steps but was soon dragged along by Xu Lei’s arm into a jog, "Why are you dawdling, don’t say you’re still fond of this lousy place!"

"I’m not!"

Just a bit anxious about the nearing hocoming!

After patiently listening to the staff’s final advice thed ’must abide by the law after getting out’, Jiang Wenhu watched her son standing right in front of her calling ’Mom’, rather than being separated by a thick glass that made touching impossible, causing her to burst into tears.

"My Xiao Xu!"

In front of his father, sister, and brother-in-law, Jiang Lingxu was initially a bit awkward and stiff being hugged sobbingly by his mom, but once he felt the warm wetness on his shoulder, he realized his own vision had blurred.

"Mom, I was reckless, I worried you."

Jiang Runcheng gave his younger son a firm pat on the shoulder, "It’s just good you’re out."

It wasn’t just Jiang Wenhu and Jiang Lingxu crying, Xu Ling’an, upon seeing Xu Lei with a nearly finger-long scar on his cropped hair, also started sniffling, "Brother Xu Lei, Grandma wanted to co too, but her headache recurred a few days ago, and the doctor won’t let her be discharged."

"At Grandma’s age, no need for her to co welco back, if it weren’t for you insisting on coming, I wouldn’t have wanted you to co. Is Grandma feeling better now?"

"Much better. What about you, Brother Xu Lei?"

", I’m all good, you know who I am, nobody could bully ." Xu Lei said confidently, watching Xu Ling’an smile through her tears, then pointed to Jiang Lingxu still crying in Jiang Wenhu’s embrace, "See, I made a buddy inside, and we got out together."

After venting her emotions, Jiang Wenhu rembered the matter at hand, took out a branch of polo leaves from her bag, and patted her younger son with it, chanting, "All bad luck dispels, all bad luck dispels..." only stopping after she patted every inch of Jiang Lingxu.

When putting it back into her bag, she noticed the siblings next to her, "An’an, you didn’t bring any, did you? Do you want to use this one? Polo leaves to ward off evil spirits."

Xu Lei was about to shake his head in refusal; he didn’t want to undergo being patted all over with that thing foolishly.

However, before he could refuse, Xu Ling’an had already walked over, thanked "Thank you, Auntie" and accepted the polo leaf branch.

He had no choice but to relent, extending his arms as Xu Ling’an pat him all over, also chanting, "All bad luck dispels."

"You’re a high schooler, and you believe in this too?"

Xu Ling’an pretended not to hear, finishing a full patting session before stopping.

Jiang Lingxu only felt that his whole body was now infused with the fragrance of polo leaves, "No more rituals, right?"

As soon as he said that, a beautifully woven red string appeared before him, "Wear the red string for turning bad luck into good fortune, ensuring peace and smoothness ahead."

Jiang Lingxu’s gaze followed the fingers holding the red string, slowly moving to his brother-in-law standing beside his sister, feeling that this scene seed even more like an illusion.

"Brother-in-law?"

Is this really the wealthy brother-in-law his mom spoke of? No mistake right?

"Hmm, hand out."

Jiang Lingxu chanically extended his hand, watching as the red string was tied onto his wrist, moving his mouth, "Thank you, brother-in-law."

"You’re welco."

As Jiang Lingxi’s gaze shifted from the red string, she t Jiang Wenhu’s questioning gaze: Did you two prepare this?

Jiang Lingxi: Could she say she had no clue when this person prepared this?

He kept it quite the secret!
