Su Jincheng’s seat was closest to the entrance.

Hearing the commotion, he put down the ax in his hand and was about to get up to open the door.

But Wei Minmin, who was faster, beat him to it. She ran towards the door shouting, "I’ll get it! I’ll get it! I have a feeling it’s my Lingxi at the door!"

"I have a feeling it’s our Xiao Yu," Yu Chang said but didn’t rush to open the door.

Jiang Lingxi, listening to the commotion through the door: "Seems lively inside."

As soon as she finished speaking, the courtyard door opened.

"Lingxi!"

Jiang Lingxi had to put down her suitcase and first accept Wei Minmin’s enthusiastic bear hug.

"Hehe, I just knew you’d be the first to arrive, Lingxi."

Wei Minmin intended to help drag the luggage in, but there was a threshold at the door, and it was not low.

Then she noticed Jiang Lingxi’s suitcase next to her. She lifted it effortlessly, almost too light.

She nearly strained her back, prepared for greater effort.

"Lingxi, is this all the luggage you brought?"

"Weren’t you the one who said everything is provided here?"

Wei Minmin: "...You’re just too pragmatic, Lingxi."

Jiang Lingxi easily lifted the suitcase over the threshold and the first sight she saw was Su Jincheng who had just stood up, brushing wood chips off himself.

"Mr. Su, I’m Jiang Lingxi."

"Ms. Jiang, welco."

Yu Chang had heard Xiao Yu talk about Jiang Lingxi more than once. He approached voluntarily, "Ms. Jiang, I’m Yu Chang, Xiao Yu’s close buddy. Welco to the Rest Stop Courtyard, and enjoy the relaxing ti ahead."

"I will."

Su Ya also put down her teacup and stood up. When Jiang Lingxi looked over, she gave a gentle smile, "Welco."

"Ms. Su."

"Looks like Lingxi has done her howork before coming here. You know there are two Mr. Sus in our courtyard; Jincheng is Little Su, so I must be Big Su!"

The words themselves exuded quality.

Jiang Lingxi returned the smile, "I’m also an audience of ’Taoyuan Village’. Watching the program during busy tis helps relax."

"That’s precisely the essence of our program, to make everyone relax along with us." As these words reached everyone’s ears, the speaker walked out of the house.

It was the other pillar of the show, the veteran actor and director Pei Shuxing, even more seasoned than Su Ya, known for his transition from acting to directing in the industry.

However, he was gradually stepping back, having attained all the honors he needed, ready to leave more opportunities for later generations while starting to enjoy life himself.

This was a verbatim quote from an interview with Director Pei once.

Jiang Lingxi joined everyone and called out, "Mr. Pei."

"After the journey by flight and car, Little Jiang must be tired. Go arrange your room with this cheeky girl Minmin first, then co out to drink so tea and eat sothing."

Pei Shuxing’s role in the show was like the family head of the courtyard. With his orders, naturally, everyone else listened obediently.

Jiang Lingxi followed Wei Minmin inside to place her luggage, while the others in the courtyard stayed busy.

So brewed tea, others checked if the pastries in the bread kiln were done, and so tidied up the firewood, working in an orderly bustle.

There were caras in the room, so Wei Minmin couldn’t say much, "Lingxi, treat this courtyard like you’re visiting a friend’s house. Mr. Pei likes drinking tea, wandering about, and playing chess. Even though he’s quite bad at it, he’s a jovial old grandfather. Ms. Su used to be a presenter; how to put it, she’s eloquent, very kind, and she takes skincare and health very seriously, having the most regular schedule in the courtyard.

Su Jincheng, ahem, Little Su just represents the silent type, loves doing things quietly. That big pile of firewood in the courtyard corner is his work. He’s the model of labor here. Then there’s Yu Chang, a pesky younger brother type, loves to argue with but is quite diligent."

To be precise, everyone in the courtyard was pretty diligent.

After all, filming was ongoing, and even if one wasn’t diligent before, they would force themselves to be more diligent in front of the cara.

Once Wei Minmin had introduced the courtyard’s people according to her perspective, Jiang Lingxi’s luggage was all packed.

There wasn’t much luggage to begin with, so it didn’t take much to sort it out.

"All set, just go out to eat and drink while waiting for others. The first day, of course, won’t let you guests do any work, but after that, things might be different!"

Returning to the courtyard, Jiang Lingxi was pulled to the pavilion to drink tea, accompanied by freshly baked, still soft biscuits.

Facing the clear lake, with a gentle breeze, willows swaying, and a slow, casual chat among a few people, if you could ignore the omnipresent caras in the courtyard, how to describe this feeling—it was quite pleasant.

"Haha, Little Jiang looks like she’s adapting quickly. Feeling quite at ease?"

Jiang Lingxi turned her head to look at Pei Shuxing, who was holding a large tea mug and sitting in the sa posture as she was, nodding, "Indeed."

Wei Minmin sat behind, watching the backs of the two in front. Though one was older and one was younger, she sohow found it harmonious.

A mont later, she had a revelation—it was the feeling of lying back!

Really, Lingxi had co and just let go, genuinely not caring about anything, just here to relax her mind and body!

Xiao Yu was the second to arrive at the courtyard.

He naturally received a welco from everyone in the courtyard.

Su Ya kept her pleasant smile, but on closer inspection, her expression appeared a bit stiff.

Not to ntion Jiang Lingxi, who had indeed beco explosively popular this year, with hit TV dramas, followed by successful variety shows, and now even her newly released movie had an impressive first-day box office, not to ntion the boost from the "above 690" ranking.

Even Xiao Yu, who used to be lukewarm in popularity, now starring as the male lead in "Gale," had outshined several peers, and his na was still trending on the hot search list.

These two people, each arrived earlier than the last.

But Lin’er, that girl, without any notable works this year, hadn’t shown up yet!

It’s so frustrating!

So ticked off, yet still forced to keep smiling for the cara!

It wasn’t until the sun was about to set, and everyone started preparing dinner at the courtyard’s earth stove, that there was finally movent outside the main door.

Yu Chang, hearing the knock, quickly stepped over and opened the door to see Su Linlin standing there in an exquisite white short dress, high heels, with her hair down, followed by three oversized suitcases.

"So tired, the road here was just too rough. Little brother, can you help carry my suitcases in?"

Yu Chang: "..."

Honestly, he kinda hated himself at that mont. Why did he move so quickly just now!

And that "little brother" sounded anything but pleasant to him, it sent weird shivers down his spine.

He felt that if he just agreed, the days ahead would not be easy.

"You have quite a bit of luggage, and your dress...maybe I should just take the threshold down for you."
