Fortunately, his subordinate was clear-headed. "As far as I know, your blood types don’t match," he denied. "You two aren’t related by blood."
"Scared the hell out of ," Shen Fanyun patted his chest. "Then I won’t have any psychological hang-ups about sleeping with her."

Shen Fanyun couldn’t deny the possibility. If that was the case, he had to get close to Su Xiyang and find an opportunity to investigate the origin of her jade pendant.

When he arrived at Su Xiyang’s company, Shen Fanyun found her in a heated discussion with a group of young, elite-looking won. Her face was ashen, and she was clearly in a foul mood. The receptionists and other male employees were obviously afraid to approach, shrinking back near the entrance to watch the drama unfold.
"Su Xiyang, if you don’t sign this today, don’t even think about leaving! Mark my words!"
"Hmph, talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Do you really think you could have gotten this company to where it is today without , Lu Qi? Ha! You should take a good look in the mirror." A woman nad Lu Qi was haughtily threatening Su Xiyang.
Su Xiyang’s face went pale. "Lu Qi, don’t go too far!"
This is strange, Shen Fanyun thought. Isn’t Su Xiyang the president? Logically, she should have the final say around here. How could a subordinate be publicly cornering her like this in broad daylight? Is Lu Qi just that audacious, or is President Su not firm enough?
"Lu Qi, our philosophies don’t align. It’s ti we parted ways. You can hand in your resignation this afternoon," Su Xiyang finally said, her tone laced with authority.
Lu Qi was montarily stunned, clearly not expecting that response.
"Are you planning to fire ?"
"You’re firing ?"
"Without , your pathetic company would have gone bankrupt long ago! I think the one who should be leaving is you, Su Xiyang! Once you’re gone, I guarantee I’ll lead this company to bigger and better things!"
The more Lu Qi thought about it, the angrier she got. She raised her hand to slap Su Xiyang across the face.
Faced with the sudden attack, Su Xiyang panicked. Just as the slap was about to land, a large hand shot out and caught it mid-air.
"This company is nad Su, not Lu. If you’re so capable, go start your own business instead of shalessly collecting soone else’s paycheck while telling them they’re unfit to lead you," Shen Fanyun said coldly.
Su Xiyang shot her head up, her eyes wide. Shen Fanyun? Why him again! Is this guy a ghost? Why does he keep haunting , even showing up at my company? What on earth does he want?
"My business is none of your concern!" Su Xiyang blurted out.
The onlookers were astonished. The usually aloof and decisive Su Xiyang, who always seed to carry a chill about her, actually looked flustered.
"You!" Lu Qi struggled violently to break free from Shen Fanyun’s grip. "Who are you? What right do you have to interfere in our affairs?"
Shen Fanyun casually spun a lie. "My na is Shen Fanyun. I’m the new head of the security departnt, and today is my first official day." He then looked at Su Xiyang. "Isn’t that right, President Su?"
Su Xiyang gritted her teeth. The priority was dealing with this troublemaker, Lu Qi. She played along, "That’s correct. This is the new Minister Shen."
"Head of the security departnt? Isn’t that just the chief of the guards? And he dares to shout at ?" Lu Qi scoffed, dismissing Shen Fanyun entirely. Since when was the head of security allowed to give her, a manager, attitude?
"If I recall correctly, our President Su fired you a minute ago," Shen Fanyun stated. "You’re no longer an employee of this company. You’d better consider the consequences of causing any more trouble."
Lu Qi fell silent, her eyes fixed on Su Xiyang with a cold glare. One second, two seconds... before anyone could react, she lunged again, raising her hand to slap Su Xiyang. She refused to accept it. No matter what, she was going to make that bitch feel the sting of her hand today.

However, she had underestimated Shen Fanyun. He grabbed Lu Qi by the hair and yanked viciously, forcing her to her knees. But he wasn’t finished. Shen Fanyun stepped forward and planted his foot directly on her hand on the floor. As his leather shoe ground down, Lu Qi’s face twisted in agony.
"So you think my title as departnt head is just for show?" Shen Fanyun sneered.
Finally, Lu Qi felt fear. Her face went deathly pale, overwheld by searing pain.
"Have your resignation letter on my desk this afternoon," Su Xiyang instructed before turning to leave.
Shen Fanyun didn’t linger either, following right behind her.
Su Xiyang, who normally walked with steady steps and graceful poise, faltered as Shen Fanyun drew near. She deliberately changed her path, keeping a wide distance from him as if terrified of any physical contact. Her confidence seed to evaporate.
"Is that really our new head of security? President Su seems a bit uncomfortable."
"Is sothing going on? A strong woman like President Su has never been warm to n... and this new guy... look, is he about to put his arm around her shoulder?"
Su Xiyang quickened her pace and darted into the elevator, hoping to shake him. To her dismay, the doors slid open again.
Pressed against the back wall of the elevator with her hands behind her, Su Xiyang’s face flushed. Her shoulders tensed, revealing just how nervous and unsettled she was.
"Xiao Su—oh, my mistake, President Su. Why are you avoiding ?" Shen Fanyun said with a playful grin.
Su Xiyang’s breathing quickened. "There are caras in here. Don’t try anything funny."
Realizing how vulnerable her posture was, she quickly crossed her arms to shield her chest, where two jade-like peaks rose and fell with her frantic heartbeat.
