Lin iqing began to demurely bend her voluptuous, graceful body. Before long, her voice grew husky and increasingly indistinct.

Shen Fanyun reclined on the couch, lost in a state of ecstasy. He reached out to hold Lin iqing’s head, a delicate fragrance wafting from his fingertips as the vital essence in his body seethed. A beauty by his side. This must be the most content, the most blissful mont of a man’s life.

In the next second, her eyes flew open as a sharp discomfort seized her throat. "You brute."

She tried to lift her head, but Shen Fanyun, unable to stop, pressed his fingers against the back of her head, refusing to let her go.

So cruel. How could he do this? Wasn’t he afraid she would suffocate? He didn’t know how to cherish a woman at all. Utterly shaless!

Lin iqing felt she had spoiled Shen Fanyun far too much, satisfying his every whim, no matter the position or thod. After all this ti, he’s starting to test my limits. Hmph, infuriating!

COUGH. COUGH.

Lin iqing coughed uncontrollably. Finally, with great difficulty, she managed to force out a warning. "Keep this up, and believe , I’ll bring out the big guns."

"You’ll regret it then. You’re asking for it!"

"I an what I say. Want to test ?"

Shen Fanyun finally snapped back to his senses. After all, he had a crucial vulnerability in her possession... no, in her mouth. He chuckled and hurriedly let go.

His little brother had been his companion in battle for so many years. If anything were to happen to it because of Lin iqing’s impulsiveness... How would he, Shen Fanyun, conquer all before him in the future? He had no desire to beco a young eunuch, left with no desires, only able to watch but not partake. For a great man, what was there besides power? Only the pursuit of won. If sothing went wrong with that... it would be a fate crueler than death.

Lin iqing grabbed a nearby bottle of mineral water and moistened her throat before shooting Shen Fanyun an annoyed glare.

"What is wrong with you?" The more she thought about it, the angrier she beca. With a flick of her wrist, she seized hold of him where it mattered most.

He yelped in pain and quickly begged for rcy.

"It was a mont of impulse. I know I was wrong," Shen Fanyun said with a cheeky grin.

Lin iqing grumbled under her breath and then exhaled softly toward him. Her breath was a fragrant, intoxicating mist. This was when she was at her most seductive.

After a storm of passion, Lin iqing lay comfortably beside Shen Fanyun, lost in silent contemplation.

The truth was, it was not just Shen Fanyun who could not bear to leave her; she felt the exact sa way. Although they were bound to et again, who knew when that would be? A month? A year? Or perhaps three to five years? Or maybe even longer? As the saying goes, a single day apart feels like three autumns. Lin iqing knew the days ahead were destined to be incredibly difficult. She had already dedicated most of her youth to Lin Jia. Therefore, she treasured her ti with Shen Fanyun imnsely. But life does not always go as planned; she had her own unavoidable hardships and reasons.

She had to leave Hangcheng City as soon as possible. Any delay would render her twenty years of waiting and suffering completely in vain.

"Sigh," Lin iqing let out a deep breath.

Shen Fanyun finished his cigarette and glanced down to find this foolish woman had started to cry without realizing it. Her tears dripped onto his chest, cool and icy. A woman in her forties, crying with tear-brimd eyes like a girl of eighteen or nineteen.

"You... you won’t forget , will you?" Lin iqing’s tears began to flow freely, making her look pitiably lovely.

Shen Fanyun’s heart stirred as he comforted her. He would forget the entire world before he forgot this peerless stunner. "How could I?"

"I won’t believe you unless you swear an oath," Lin iqing demanded seriously, her stubbornness tinged with a hint of cuteness.

"Fine," Shen Fanyun nodded without hesitation. "I swear."

"If you dare to forget ," Lin iqing said with a sly, gloating smirk, "then you’ll... you’ll beco... shorter... by three inches!"

Shen Fanyun was speechless.

What a vicious oath. Was this even a vow? It felt more like a curse. Was this gorgeous woman being too devious? Did she have to go that far? If it actually ca true, wouldn’t she be the one to suffer along with him? What a foolish woman, willing to injure herself by eight hundred just to hurt the enemy by a thousand. Why bother?

"What, you don’t dare?" Lin iqing’s temper flared. Seeing his evasive gaze, she started grumbling again, insisting on forcing him to take the oath.

"Auntie, does it have to be this harsh?" Shen Fanyun asked helplessly, before giving in and seriously repeating her words.

Lin iqing’s face lit up with a smile, her mood instantly brightening.

"I’ll see you off when you leave," Shen Fanyun said, gently ruffling her hair.

Lin iqing sat up, her silky, flawless pale back facing him like a living mural.

"Of course you will," she declared righteously. "If you dare not see off, I’ll curse you every single day."

"Be safe," Shen Fanyun said. "And rember, you absolutely must rember, if you run into trouble you can’t handle, use that ring to protect yourself."

Shen Fanyun reminded her again with great earnestness.

Lin iqing grew pensive. She really had no idea how much deterrent power and influence the ring he had given her actually possessed. Now, he was bringing it up again, his expression more solemn and serious than ever before. Her heart skipped a beat. She had probably been far too simplistic in her assessnt of the ring’s potential value.

Could it be that this thing could have an unexpected effect in Capital City, too? Just what is Shen Fanyun’s background? We’ve known each other for so long, but I’ve spent what little free ti I have keeping him close, being clingy and affectionate all day. I’ve never really asked about his secret identity. What an alluring, mysterious man!

"Mm-hm, I know," Lin iqing said, biting her red lip and nodding emphatically at him. There would be plenty of ti to find out more later; there was no need to rush.

"I’ll protect myself.

"I’m waiting for the day we et again in Capital City. Don’t worry, nothing bad will happen.

"For the past twenty years, I’ve raised Lin Jia all by myself. I’ve dealt with all sorts of scumbags and even absolute lunatics. I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve.

"I’m not as fragile and vulnerable as you think," she boasted, her tone firm as she snuggled back into Shen Fanyun’s embrace.

Shen Fanyun nodded. "That’s for the best."

「Three days later.」

Shen Fanyun drove Lin iqing and Lin Jia to the Hangcheng City high-speed train station. He had originally arranged for a private car to take them, but Lin iqing refused. She wanted to enjoy the scenery along the way, and the high-speed train was the best option for that. Besides, modern high-speed trains were not too slow. They might not be as fast as a plane, but they saved a lot of ti that would otherwise be spent on check-in, clearly making them the best value.
