The way this manager acted completely defied everything Shen Fanyun had previously known, forcing him to see the so-called "manager" in a new light.
He inwardly sighed at the sheer variety of people in the world; truly, anything was possible. While there was no shortage of oddballs in any given year, this one seed to be producing them in spades, especially the manager of this high-end boutique.
Without having provoked her in any way, Lin iqing was mocked by this so-called manager, called a pauper, and told not to bother trying things on if she couldn't afford them. After belittling the innocent Lin iqing, the manager even had the audacity to turn the tables on both her and Shen Fanyun. She brazenly accused Shen Fanyun of going too far, claiming that not only did he refuse to admit his own poverty, but he was also taking out all his frustrations on her and her staff, as if she and her staff were the completely innocent victims.
"I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
"We're not serving you. Please leave."
Seeing that Shen Fanyun looked about to fly into a rage, the manager worried the situation would escalate. She decided to be ruthless and ordered them out, telling Shen Fanyun and Lin iqing to go back where they ca from. In short, they wouldn't deign to serve them any longer.
"Next ti you go shopping, check a store's class and prices before you walk in," the manager added brazenly. "Otherwise, what's the point of finding sothing you like if you can't afford it? Are you just trying to make fun of us?"
The more Lin iqing thought about it, the angrier she beca, and she prepared to confront the manager. Having been in business for many years, she thought she had seen it all and dealt with every kind of bizarre person imaginable. Yet, this manager still shattered her perception of what was possible, especially with how brazenly and self-righteously she counter-attacked.
How could she possibly swallow this insult?
Just as she was about to speak, a large, nacing crowd swept into the store. At its head was a young woman, strutting arrogantly and wearing what were clearly expensive designer sunglasses.
Shen Fanyun and Lin iqing recognized this group. When they had first entered the mall, this sa young woman had been making a scene. To think they'd run into her again!
The young woman's eyes seed to fix on the dress Lin iqing was wearing. She gave a couple of subtle nods, the corners of her mouth turning up. Peering over the edge of her sunglasses for a better look, she imdiately commanded, "Clerk, get this dress for . I want a brand-new one from the stock."
Then, turning to Lin iqing, she said, "Also, it's a bad on to be wearing the sa outfit as . I advise you to take it off imdiately. If you're unwilling, I can have my people help you."
Lin iqing was dumbfounded.
What on earth was going on today? Why did she keep running into such bizarre people? All she did was try on a dress she liked, and it had caused all this trouble? And who was this young woman? To tell her to strip in public, and if she didn't comply, she'd have her subordinates do it for her. Such audacity! Such arrogance! Soone who didn't know any better would think all of Hangcheng City was hers to command!
"Miss, I can see she's completely unwilling. Looks like she's determined to defy you," the lead bodyguard said, his lecherous gaze sweeping over Lin iqing while deliberately ignoring Shen Fanyun. "Perhaps we should give her a hand."
In his eyes, Shen Fanyun was an insignificant piece of trash, not even worth a glance. It would be a waste of ti.
"Mmm," the young woman humd, silently approving the bodyguard's suggestion.
Unable to restrain themselves, five or six bodyguards began rubbing their hands together as they advanced on Lin iqing.
"What—what are you doing?" Lin iqing seethed.
The sales clerks, however, were secretly delighted. They had disliked Lin iqing from the start, so seeing her get bullied was exactly what they wanted.
"Hey, beautiful. It's a hot day. How about us brothers help you shed a few layers?"
Lin iqing was left speechless.
"How dare you do sothing like this in broad daylight?" Shen Fanyun sneered, stepping forward.
Lin iqing wasn't actually worried sothing bad would happen, but she was furious at how despicable these people were. Bullying people this way was simply going too far. She was just a woman, keeping to herself and not bothering anyone, yet she was facing this kind of humiliation. On what grounds?
"Where did this little punk co from? Get lost! I don't have ti for you."
"Scram!"
The bodyguards completely dismissed Shen Fanyun. After shouting a few insults, they cracked their knuckles and closed in on Lin iqing, their eyes predatory.
The young woman, anwhile, stood nonchalantly by the entrance, casually painting her nails as if this had nothing to do with her.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Shen Fanyun asked, his gaze looking past the n to the young woman at the door. "You have no grudge against her. This is the first ti you've t, and you want to strip her clothes off?"
The young woman looked up languidly. "Are you talking to ? In that tone?"
Well, she really is arrogant.
"So what if I have her clothes stripped off? As long as it makes happy, that's all that matters. If you don't like it, you can just suck it up. If you offend , I'm afraid ten lives won't be enough to save you!" the young woman scoffed, crossing her arms and leaning against the doorfra.
Although her expression and disdainful gaze couldn't be seen clearly, her tone alone was revealing. It suggested she was used to being arrogant and bossy, a tactic that had never failed her.
"Get rid of him," the young woman ordered with a wave of her hand.
Hearing the command, the bodyguards shifted their focus, now glaring nacingly at Shen Fanyun.
Shen Fanyun sighed. Running into this kind of trash really soured his mood. He turned to Lin iqing and said, "Stand back."
BOOM!
He lashed out with a kick, sending the nearest bodyguard flying several ters. One mont the man was inside the shop; the next, he landed amidst the bustling crowd outside.
"What..."
The remaining bodyguards, every last one of them, stared in stunned disbelief. They never imagined that this man, who looked like just another pretty boy, could be so powerful.
When they looked back outside, the bodyguard who had been kicked was on one knee, coughing up a large mouthful of blood. He lasted less than two seconds before collapsing, unconscious.
This...
The scene even startled the young woman leaning against the doorway. Her lips parted slightly as if to speak, but she stopped herself.
"Before you act so high and mighty, you should check if you have the strength and backing to pull it off," Shen Fanyun said coolly. "Since you ca looking for trouble, then I'm sorry, but you won't be leaving today until you get on your knees and apologize."
He took a step forward and slapped another bodyguard across the face. The man stumbled back, five bloody finger marks swelling on his cheek. It was a terrifying sight.
This... was too brutal.
The clerks, who had never witnessed such violence, scread and shut their eyes, too afraid to look.
The young woman's brow furrowed into a tight line. Her previously nonchalant deanor finally cracked, replaced by a flicker of uncertainty. Her bravado had vanished.
She opened her mouth as if to say sothing, but in the end, she swallowed her words.
