"It's you!" Shao Shan gasped, his expression fluctuating wildly. How could his grandson have carelessly provoked such a Demon Lord of Mayhem? This was no easy mark. The man didn't even seem to respect Han Long, the local overlord. It was a separate matter entirely whether he was strong enough to face him head-on. At the very least, his courage was comndable. For years, no one had dared to provoke Han Long like this. This Shen Fanyun was truly the first. Whatever the case, this was a person he absolutely couldn't afford to offend. Because this was a madman! Shao Shan wouldn't dare provoke a madman unless he had a death wish. Was his ordinary life too boring? Was he looking for a thrill? Of course not.

"Shen Fanyun!" The na struck a familiar chord with Li Huai'an as well. The old man furrowed his brow, sinking into deep thought.

Now that he thought about it… back then, Li Ruoshui had ntioned this na more than once. She had even been sullen for a very, very long ti because of it. She had even tried to get him involved, but alas, it ca to nothing. Years later, Li Huai'an had all but forgotten the young man's existence. If it weren't for the massive uproar Shen Fanyun had caused in Hangcheng City, which had captured everyone's attention, Li Huai'an would never have connected this na to the youth Li Ruoshui had ntioned all those years ago. A decade had passed. Had this boy been biding his ti for ten years, only to return now and settle the score with Han Long? Were things really getting this intense?

"You… you…" Shao Shan's mouth hung open, completely at a loss for how to respond to Shen Fanyun. He had challenged Shen Fanyun to state his na, and now that he had, Shao Shan was filled with dread.

If this had just been so reckless, arrogant junior, Shao Shan might have taught him a lesson and made him understand the weight behind the Shao Family na. But now? It was clear this man was an unruly, lawless character. Shao Shan didn't dare to make a move.

"What about ?" Shen Fanyun raised an eyebrow and, with a flick of his wrist, slapped Shao Shan across the face again. He struck him openly, showing the so-called patriarch of the Shao Family no respect whatsoever.

Shao Shan was left speechless.

"Young man, don't be so presumptuous! We have no history, no grudge between us. Y-you're going too far!" Shao Shan pleaded. "I'm an old man! I don't expect your respect, but there's no need to be such a bully!"

SMACK!

Another resounding slap echoed. Shao Shan's face was completely misshapen, his nose collapsed and blood stread from it and his mouth. Standing to the side, Shao Yang's heart pounded with fear as he watched.

"Now we have a grudge," Shen Fanyun smiled, reminding him, "You can go back and start your preparations now. Muster every connection and all the power you have and start your retaliation. I'll be waiting."

Shao Shan was speechless.

"Still here? Waiting for to serve you dinner?" Shen Fanyun chided.

Shao Shan didn't dare to delay. He grabbed Shao Yang's hand. "Let's go."

"Grandpa, are we just leaving? That kid hasn't even apologized to us," Shao Yang grumbled, unwilling to concede. "If we just leave like this, won't we lose face?"

Shen Fanyun strode forward and kicked him, sending Shao Yang tumbling head over heels. Only a thorough beating can bring true enlightennt. Shao Yang scrambled up from the ground, not even daring to risk a glance back at Shen Fanyun. He imdiately followed Shao Shan, and they scurried away without a trace.

"You're so amazing," Li Ruoshui cooed, sidling up to Shen Fanyun and hugging his arm, swaying it back and forth.

Li Huai'an remained silent, lost in thought. Although he never interfered in Li Ruoshui's personal affairs and had never dread of using his granddaughter as a bargaining chip for a marriage alliance, this was different. Li Ruoshui was getting far too close to this person, and it was clear they were more than just friends. Could this behavior bring catastrophe upon the Li Family? After all, this ant going against Han Long. Anyone who provoked Han Long was just waiting to be utterly destroyed! Shen Fanyun was taking a huge risk, dancing on a knife's edge…

"Young… man?" Li Huai'an opened his mouth, but he didn't know what to say.

Shen Fanyun and Li Ruoshui knew exactly what Li Huai'an was worried about.

"Grandpa, don't worry. Fanyun is very capable," Li Ruoshui said. "This ti, Han Long is going to fall for good."

She had been waiting for this day for a long, long ti.

Li Huai'an sucked in a sharp breath. The local overlord… toppled? The more he thought about it, the more surreal it seed. It felt like a dream! If Han Long were that easy to defeat, he wouldn't have spent the last two decades steadily growing his power to beco a figure who could command the wind and rain in this city. A man like that, deeply entrenched in Hangcheng City for so many years… his network of connections and the shadowy forces at his back were imasurable. However, Shen Fanyun had put Han Long's son in the hospital. That proved he was no pushover either. If Han Long was a tiger, then Shen Fanyun certainly wasn't so harmless house cat.

"Young man, be careful. Don't act rashly. Han Long isn't that simple," Li Huai'an advised. He felt he might have said too much, but he still wanted to give Shen Fanyun a kind warning.

Shen Fanyun nodded. "Understood."

Shao Shan dragged Shao Yang away from the Li Family residence. Both grandfather and grandson had been beaten to a pulp by the very sa person. Shao Yang was still reluctant, hemming and hawing as they left.

"Grandpa, since when did the Shao Family beco such pushovers? You might be afraid of that guy, but I'm not!" Shao Yang said defiantly.

Shao Shan gritted his teeth, frustrated by his grandson's lack of sense. "What do you know?" he snapped. "That kid even dared to beat up Han Feng. Do you really think you carry more weight than Han Feng?"

Shao Yang fell silent. His expression froze, and he sank into thought. Han Feng was the city's top rich heir, the only son of Han Long. He was glamorous, with a social status so high that almost no one in Hangcheng City could compare to the young master of the Han Family. Such a prominent figure… and that bastard with Li Ruoshui dared to hit him? He had to be a madman, right?

"That's right. He's a complete and utter madman," Shao Shan said noncommittally. "He's got a beef with the Han Family. Why should we get involved? We can just sit back and watch Han Long deal with that son of a bitch."

Shao Yang slowly began to understand. He nodded. "I see."

"Don't worry, that madman won't be alive for long.

"When the ti cos, Li Ruoshui and the rest of the Li Family will see the light and co crawling to our Shao Family to apologize.

"Li Ruoshui will still be yours," Shao Shan said.

Shao Yang grinned, baring his teeth. "Damn it, I've been lusting after that bitch for so long, I can't hold it in anymore." For years, he had been obsessed with Li Ruoshui, dreaming of her day and night. And now, that sa woman had given her most precious treasure to so stray dog. Unbelievable! When the ti cos, you'd better serve properly. If you displease , you know what will happen! Shao Yang was already lost in fantasies of finally conquering the beauty for himself.
