"Damn! Young Master Han got beaten up again and nearly died."

"What’s going on? Who in Hangcheng City is brazen enough to clash with the Han family mbers repeatedly? Do they have a death wish?"

"This... this is outrageous!"

He was, after all, a local magnate and undeniably a top scion of his generation. With his family background and connections, he wasn’t soone an ordinary person could afford to provoke. Offending him was a death sentence. Moreover, with Han Feng’s wedding just around the corner, the local buzz surrounding him was at an all-ti high. The public had assud Han Feng was the most celebrated man in Hangcheng City, so no one expected a sudden disaster to nearly claim his life.

"I heard it was soone nad Shen Fanyun."

"Shen Fanyun? Who’s that? Never heard of him!"

"Where did this lowlife crawl out from? Does he not know what kind of figure Young Master Han is in our Hangcheng City?"

This was the first ti Shen Fanyun’s na had surfaced and caught the public’s eye since he returned to his hotown several months ago.

"We don’t have any prominent local families with the surna Shen, do we?"

"Soone from another province? But the Han Family doesn’t seem to have ever had conflicts with anyone from a Shen lineage!"

"Who on earth is this Shen who just popped out of nowhere?"

As the public discussion grew, the old history between Shen Fanyun and Han Feng was completely dug up and exposed.

"Turns out, the kid was one of Han Feng’s old classmates. They beca enemies because of so conflicts back in their youth."

"Ha! He’s holding a grudge for all these years just because he got expelled? How petty!"

"He’s nothing compared to Young Master Han. So narrow-minded!"

At this mont, it wasn’t just the public gossiping. So people claiming to be their forr classmates also stepped forward to offer a "clear explanation" of what happened back then. Since they were supposedly witnesses, their accounts sounded more credible. They claid it was just a minor conflict and that from an outsider’s perspective, there was no reason to hold on to it for so many years. Besides, Shen Fanyun had sticky fingers in his youth. He was caught red-handed with both witnesses and physical evidence, so what right did he have to cause trouble now? Was it just because Young Master Han had reported and exposed the little thief?

Being targeted by such a vile person was truly disgusting; to think it could still stir up trouble after so many years. People said it was Han Feng’s own fault for being careless this ti. Out of consideration for their old school ties, he gave the guy a chance to et and even planned to invite him to his wedding. Who would have thought that petty bastard would seize the opportunity to give Han Feng a beating? It seed like he was the one who beat up Han Feng last ti, too. Young Master Han was too kind, giving that ungrateful dog one chance after another. Not only did the dog not appreciate it, but he also proved to be completely heartless.

"How shaless! He did sothing wrong, so getting expelled was his own damn fault, wasn’t it?"

"How can he take his anger out on Young Master Han? That’s utterly despicable and low!"

"Back then, Young Master Han did us all a favor by getting rid of the black sheep and having that thief kicked out of school! It was a righteous act, and now... he’s facing retaliation for it!"

"I can’t watch this anymore! I have to stand up and demand justice for Young Master Han!"

For a ti, rumors swirled, painting Shen Fanyun as a pariah—a rat everyone wanted to beat down in the streets.

In the midst of this, Lu Feiyan heard the news and imdiately called Shen Fanyun.

"How do you plan to handle this?" she asked.

Lying on his sofa at ho, Shen Fanyun replied leisurely, "What is there to handle? If they want to make a fuss, let them."

"Aren’t these classmates of yours, the ones blatantly lying, taking it a bit too far?" Lu Feiyan scoffed. "What do they an ’witnesses and physical evidence’? They even have the nerve to slap a label of ’righteousness’ on Han Feng. Ha! Do they really not rember what actually happened back then? Is Han Feng really that noble and kind-hearted? That animal is the reason you were forced to leave ho for so many years, and now he’s suddenly beco so great, benevolent person? What a joke!"

If she were afraid of offending the Han Family, Lu Feiyan could have simply remained silent. After all, it’s human nature to look out for oneself; that was understandable. But to stand up and tell blatant lies, to turn around and bla Shen Fanyun... weren’t they crossing a line? Acting so self-righteously while twisting the truth—had they abandoned even their most basic conscience and principles? Her anger was so palpable that she, a woman normally known for her politeness and grace, began cursing and unleashing a tirade of abuse at Han Feng.

"Shen Fanyun is a worthless piece of crap! We must get justice for Young Master Han!" soone posted online.

"When he returned to Hangcheng City, we invited him to dinner out of goodwill for our old classmate. And guess what? The guy acted like we owed him sothing! Ridiculous!"

"He has no emotional intelligence. It’s no surprise that a bastard like him would do sothing so outrageous!"

At that point, a forr classmate, a woman nad Liu Bing, ca forward and publicly accused Shen Fanyun in no uncertain terms. Soon after, a man nad Hong Tao chid in, echoing her words and denigrating Shen Fanyun as worthless.

Shen Fanyun, of course, rembered those two. They had indeed all had dinner together when he first returned. However, an incident had occurred where Liu Bing and Hong Tao had tried to get another classmate, Li Ruoshui, to sacrifice herself to get them out of trouble. The crucial part was that Liu Bing had been the one to start the trouble in the first place.

Lu Feiyan’s response ca swiftly via a public post:

"Heh. So you love spouting nonsense and lying through your teeth? You want to be unreasonable, is that it? Fine. I’m holding a press conference tomorrow. You two can co and repeat everything you said today to my face, in front of all the reporters. And you’d better guarantee that every single word is true. If you tell a single lie, I’ll rip your mouths off. You know perfectly well what really happened back then. Is Han Feng your father? Is that why you’re sucking up to him so shalessly?"

Everyone had been eagerly following the gossip, but no one expected Lu Feiyan to suddenly jump into the fray. She was, at the mont, the hottest new star in Hangcheng City, with a massive fanbase. Especially after a recent controversy, her fans’ loyalty was stronger than ever. Nobody could have imagined this rising star would get involved, let alone call out Liu Bing and Hong Tao by na for a public confrontation...

"Well, now things are getting interesting."

"Hahaha, I’m getting the feeling that this Liu and Hong are just talking out of their asses. I bet there isn’t a single true word in anything they said."

"She’s called them out directly. I doubt they’ll have the guts to show up at the press conference tomorrow, right?"

「A restaurant in Hangcheng City.」

After hearing the news, Hong Tao and Liu Bing just stared at each other, stunned. Why were they the ones being targeted? Plenty of people were slandering Shen Fanyun, so why single them out?

"What does this have to do with Lu Feiyan?" Liu Bing muttered. "She’s just being a busybody!"
