Just as Wang Qing’s call ended, another one from an unknown number ca in.

Su Xiyang hadn’t planned on answering, but on second thought, she was curious to see who would try to boss her around this ti.

"Hello?" Su Xiyang’s voice was calm.

"Su Xiyang, do you have a death wish? How dare you provoke Hong Hai Capital! Hong Hai Capital! Do you have any idea what that na ans?"

"Do you realize how much trouble you’ve caused?"

The person on the other end was frantic, hurling all sorts of harsh accusations. Su Xiyang, however, remained unfazed; hearing the caller’s furious tone was actually sowhat satisfying.

It was the voice of Qin Yue, her half-sister.

A cold smirk touched Su Xiyang’s lips as she casually retorted, "Didn’t get slapped enough last ti? Here you are, acting up in front of again?"

Qin Yue was speechless.

"You should take a good look at yourself!"

"Better yet, why don’t you co to my company and say that to my face? We’ll see if I don’t slap you again today!"

Qin Yue was speechless.

She had planned on using Hong Hai Capital’s influence to put Su Xiyang in her place and salvage so of the dignity she’d lost, but she never expected Su Xiyang to be so fiercely defiant. For a mont, Qin Yue was so thoroughly rebuffed that she couldn’t speak, and the conversation lapsed into a long silence.

"It seems I didn’t teach you a proper lesson last ti. Don’t worry. As long as you’re still in Hangcheng City, we’ll have our chance to et again."

"I’ll teach you how to speak to people properly."

With a click, Su Xiyang hung up. Being so assertive wasn’t just more effective; it also left her feeling refreshed and exhilarated.

I used to care way too much about what other people thought. Before I t Shen Fanyun, my personality and the way I dealt with people were severely flawed. You worry about what others think, whether your words will make them unhappy or uncomfortable. But do they ever return the favor and consider your feelings? The answer is no. With so people, the more you yield, the more they take. They start to think they can manipulate and play with you as they please!

Take Qin Yue, for example. With her mother, Wang Qing, backing her, she always acts superior, assuming everyone should defer to her and fear her. But when you think about it, we’re all just living our lives for the first ti. Why should anyone have to give in to you? Why should you get special treatnt? You’re not so imperial kinsman or noble, not the Jade Emperor himself! If anyone pisses off, I’ll tear them a new one!

「Hangcheng City, at a highway exit.」

Yuan Chong waited nearby, trembling with anxiety. After what felt like an eternity, a business van with a Capital City license plate finally rolled into view.

The past hour had been sheer torture for him, a tornt of both mind and spirit. The news about him was still spreading like wildfire, and after an hour of intense, non-stop exposure, victims began coming forward one after another to accuse him. What started as indecent chats—a matter of private morality—had now escalated into a serious legal violation. Furthermore, an incident from two years prior, in which he and Xu Haicong had driven a young woman to suicide, had once again beco the center of attention.

But those weren’t the most critical issues. The crucial point was that Hong Hai Capital, a firm renowned for its powerful PR capabilities and excellent dia relations, had taken no action whatsoever.

Had they not intervened, or had their intervention failed? If it was the latter, the situation was far more severe. Who on earth could be powerful enough to single-handedly crush Hong Hai Capital? So powerful that the firm didn’t even have the strength to resist or make a move?

BANG!

The business van pulled over and the engine cut out. A lean man in his early sixties climbed out.

"B-B-Big Boss," Yuan Chong stamred in greeting.

It was Xu Haicong.

Without a word, Xu Haicong strode over to Yuan Chong and slapped him hard across the face, adding insult to injury on his already swollen cheek. A spray of blood flew from his lips.

Yuan Chong clutched his stinging face, not daring to move an inch. He could only stand there stiffly before Xu Haicong, ready to accept his tirade.

"You’re good for nothing but causing trouble!"

"Once this crisis is over, you will hand in your resignation and get the hell out!"

"Do you have any idea how much public pressure this scandal has brought upon our company? Right now, in Capital City, Hong Hai Capital has beco public enemy number one!"

What should have been a trivial, easily handled matter had sohow spiraled into this disaster. And the source of it all was Yuan Chong letting his lust get the better of him, thinking he could use his position to force Su Xiyang to spend the night with him. If only Yuan Chong had just done his job properly and followed procedure, how could he have gotten them into such a colossal ss?

"B-Big Boss, the main fault isn’t really mine. It’s... it’s that woman, Su Xiyang. She was completely unreasonable! If she didn’t want to cooperate, fine, we could have just gone our separate ways. But... but she beat up two days in a row! She has absolutely no respect for as a senior executive of Hong Hai Capital, does she? She’s slapping our Hong Hai Capital right in the face, Big Boss!" Yuan Chong blurted out instinctively.

ntioning this only stoked Xu Haicong’s fury. "You barged into her office and tried to force her to sign the docunts. If it were , I’d have beaten you to death!"

No one would tolerate such an act of desperation. Yuan Chong had acted like a thug; getting beaten was exactly what he deserved!

Yuan Chong was at a loss for words.

The Big Boss knows about that, too? Then again, it makes sense. The chat logs were leaked, so it’s no surprise the video got out as well.

"B-Big Boss, why can’t we get the news taken down?" Yuan Chong asked, bewildered, getting to the heart of the matter.

If they could get the stories pulled, they could resolve the issue quietly. But as it stood, Hong Hai Capital was being roasted over an open fire. The longer it dragged on, the worse it would be for the company. In truth, the negative impact had already dealt them a heavy blow.

"I’ve looked into it. The source seems to be Su Xiyang."

"She has an incredibly powerful figure backing her. This ti, we’ve really ssed with the wrong person."

Hong Hai keeps a close watch on everything that happens in Capital City. If soone from the Capital was targeting us, we should have found out imdiately. Since we can’t find a source, it ans the move didn’t co from there. In other words, it’s most likely connected to Su Xiyang.

"Let’s go. We’re going to et Su Xiyang," Xu Haicong ordered.

Su Xiyang was the key to this dia firestorm. Once the source was dealt with, everything else would fall into place. As for the public controversy? Even though it has dealt a heavy blow to Hong Hai Capital, the public is forgetful. In less than a week, no one will even care. Or, we could create another major incident to bury the negative news about us. I heard a top celebrity was just exposed for having an illegitimate child. We can use him to create a diversion!
