Sheng Mansion!
The Old Lady slowly woke up and found an IV drip still hanging over her bed, then weakly called out, "Old Chen, why am I still hooked up to a dicine drip?"
A maid approached and said, "Old Madam, you’re awake? Didn’t you know that you’ve been in a coma for several days?"
"I... I’ve been in a coma for several days?" The Old Lady’s eyes widened in shock. "Who are you? Where is Old Chen?"
"I am the new maid, here specifically to serve you, Old Lady. Who is Old Chen?" The maid was briefly confused.
"What? You are a new maid? When did I ever say I wanted to switch? Quickly, call Nanny Chen for !" The Old Lady was so agitated that she began to cough.
"Old Madam, please don’t be so hurried, let call the doctor for you first," the maid said as she hurriedly ran out.
"What is happening? Who dared to switch out the people serving while I was unconscious? Security, security!"
The Old Lady called out for security multiple tis, but no one ca to her door, which only increased her sense of unease. Struggling, she got up from her bed, but imdiately felt the room spin.
Several minutes later, she had slowly adjusted, surely because of lying in bed for too long, even walking was challenging.
As she reached the door and looked outside, there indeed was no security guard, although she always had security stationed outside to ensure her safety previously.
Why did everything disappear after she woke up?
In her anxiety, the Old Lady wanted to call and find out what was going on but discovered that the landline in the room had been disconnected, clearly, to prevent her from contacting the outside world!
At that mont, she faintly heard soone crying out "Old Madam," the voice sounded extrely dreadful, yet sowhat familiar; could it be?
The Old Lady took her walking stick and step by step, made her way outside. At a distance of fifty ters from her room, two bodyguards saw her and, surprised, said, "Old Madam, why are you out here on your own? You should hurry back to bed and rest, the doctor said you should not move around because of your condition."
Mrs. Lai looked at the two bodyguards for a while, "Are you also new here?"
"We are not new, we used to be stationed at the corporate office, now we are just stationed here at the Old Mansion, just switched places, not newly arrived."
"Hmph, I want to know, who asked you to co?" The Old Lady regained so of her spirit and asked.
"It was Guan Jiu, our boss. Didn’t he tell you?" one security guard replied.
"Guan Jiu? What a Guan Jiu, he’s too bold, even daring to defy !" The Old Lady gritted her teeth and cursed, then asked, "Who is locked in the secret room? Why were they calling out ’Old Madam’?"
"Old Madam, you really can’t recognize her voice? It’s your old servant, Nanny Chen!"
"Old Chen? Why is she locked in there?" the Old Lady asked, while she walked toward the secret room. "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and open the door to the secret room!"
After exchanging glances, the two bodyguards decided to open the door, as it was the Old Lady’s request and they didn’t want to contradict her.
After the door opened, the Old Lady walked in step by step.
Suddenly, a disheveled ghost sprang in front of her and seized her arm, saying, "Old Madam, you finally ca to see !"
