“Hello, Aunt i.” Ye Shu nodded politely as Aunt i looked her way.
“Is your na Ye Shu?” A flicker of surprise briefly crossed her eyes.
Ye Shu nodded and said, “Yes, Aunt i, that’s my na. Are you interested in it?”
“Oh, haha, it sounds nice, a good na. Goodbye.” Aunt i turned and walked away.
As Ye Shu watched Aunt i’s retreating figure, she inexplicably felt a touch of sadness. “Da Li, you said Aunt i had been locked up for over a dozen years. Why did she choose to stay after her release? Does she really have no family outside? Surely she has so friends?”
“Who knows? Lots of people have asked her, and she just smiles. The district is her ho.”
“Oh… I see… I always feel like Aunt i must have many fascinating stories,” Ye Shu said, bowing her head to eat, only to find her food basin missing!
Turning her head, she saw Da Li eating with gusto. A woman who could eat like that would bankrupt anyone who married her, right?
Caught by Ye Shu’s stare, Da Li finally realized what had happened and hurriedly returned the bowl to Ye Shu. “Hehe, sorry, I accidentally crossed the line.”
After dinner, the inmates were required to attend a legal knowledge class in the large classroom, but an instructor called Ye Shu out of the classroom.
“Ye Shu, the victim’s family has appealed, and your trial will be held at Jin City First People’s Court in three days. Do you have a private lawyer? If not, do you need us to provide you with a free one?”
Ye Shu thought for a mont and said, “No need, I will defend myself.”
“All right, then you think it over carefully these next couple of days, best to list your thoughts to organize them, lest you forget sothing in court and affect the outco.”
“Understood, thank you, Instructor.” Although Ye Shu was a bit nervous, everything was unfolding according to the plan she and Mr. Sheng had drawn up, and even faster than she had anticipated.

How could this be? Just the day before, the group was crying out for her injustice, cheering her on.
But now, the mont they’re asked to testify in court, everyone becos a turtle hiding in its shell?
Desperation nearly brought Ye Xinyu to tears. Initially, she was single-minded in her desire for Ye Shu’s death, confident that once the trial began, Ye Shu could not escape involvent.
Yet with the court date only three days away, she realized she wasn’t prepared at all.
Just as she felt overwheld, three witnesses finally ca forward, willing to testify for her.
Ye Xinyu’s mood instantly improved…
