ng Yao followed the voice and saw a thin man, who was out of place compared to those around him.

His eyes were deep, his lips thin, and his face cold and aloof.

A word popped into ng Yao’s mind: the high mountain flower.

The kind that doesn’t partake in worldly affairs.

Logically speaking, such a person would disdain ddling in others’ business.

But this person, unexpectedly, got involved.

The young man looked puzzled at the man, clearly not understanding what he ant.

"Sir, what do you an?" The young man hesitated, probably not sure how to address this person, stamred for a while, and finally settled on "sir," thinking it was the most fitting.

"Literal aning," the man said in a cold tone.

The young man was a bit taken aback; the man didn’t seem like soone who spoke nonsense, so did this an the strong and burly man had ill intentions?

Indeed, he also fancied the girl. On the surface, he pretended to be magnanimous, but inside, he must have been very upset, angry about having to bid more silver to snatch the girl.

So, he pretended to be generous, offered help, and then, while the young man was off guard, intended to snatch the money and the girl.

This way, not only would he lose the silver, but he wouldn’t be able to keep the girl either.

The young man gratefully glanced at the gentleman who gave him this friendly advice. In these tis, people generally turned a blind eye to events not concerning them. Such a good person was rare to find.

The young man glared at the strong man with great montum, "I can handle the burial affairs myself. I don’t need your help. Let tell you, I have six brothers! If you’re harboring any inappropriate thoughts, better drop them early to save yourself from humiliation."

He didn’t lie; he indeed had six brothers, but the brothers had yet to co of age.

The strong man looked angry, with no trace of the earlier magnanimity.

However, his anger was aid at that cold man.

"I’m kindly offering help, yet you’re maliciously sowing discord, ruining my reputation. If you don’t give an explanation today, I won’t let this go!"

The cold man frowned, "Not reporting to officials directly is already showing leniency towards you. Since you refuse to listen to reason, let’s report this to the authorities. You can’t take her away!"

The latter statent was directed at the young man who wanted to buy the girl.

"But he hasn’t really done anything!" The young man was hesitant as he was eager to take the girl ho.

"Right, what basis do you have to report this?" The strong man sneered.

The cold man glared at the strong man with an even more intense sneer.

The strong man felt uncomfortable under his gaze and muttered, "Who knows where this crazy person popped out from, really unlucky. I’m done with you!"

With that, he turned to leave.

"You can’t leave!" The cold man insisted, urgently stepping forward to block the strong man’s way.

Although thin, the cold man was not weak.

But compared to the strong man, his build was far inferior.

ng Yao had been observing closely, noticing the strong man’s evasive eyes, clearly showing so guilt.

This ant that the cold man either hit the nail on the head about his intentions.

Or he had done sothing before that the cold man had witnessed.

Or perhaps, the matter was directly related to the cold man.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have a reason to hold onto it so relentlessly.

ng Yao watched with interest, finding the outco unexpected.

When the cold man charged forward so fearlessly, ng Yao thought he was a leader; but the outco...

The strong man lifted him like a chick, his gaze mocking, "If you want to play the hero, consider if you have the skills for it!"

After saying so, he tossed the man aside.

Coincidentally, the direction he threw was towards ng Yao.

The crowd around ng Yao scattered, leaving her standing alone.

She sighed, exhaled deeply, and caught the man as he was about to fall, preventing him from hitting the ground.

"Thank you, madam, for your assistance." The cold man composedly steadied himself and thanked ng Yao with a bow.

"What that man said isn’t wrong. If you wish to act chivalrously, you need to have the ability, otherwise, you won’t be able to help others and might even involve yourself, which isn’t worth it," ng Yao remarked.

"Madam is right, but they are new to this place, and the people here don’t know their background. If I didn’t expose them, the young man would only know sothing about their nature after suffering a loss," the cold man explained.

Without waiting for ng Yao to ask, the cold man continued, "The three of them are working together."

The strong man, the girl, and the one pretending to be a corpse on the cart.

"They always use the sa trick, with the strong man raising the price, then finally when soone offers a satisfactory price, the strong man follows under the guise of helping."

"Before the buyer can take the person ho, they end up losing both money and the person."

"If you don’t believe it, you can check if the person on the cart is really dead."

The young man looked at the frail girl with shock and disbelief!

"No, it’s not, this is my father, and he’s already dead, if you don’t believe, you can see, he’s not breathing." The girl hastily explained while lifting the straw mat.

The young man subconsciously took a step back.

ng Yao observed, noting the presence of livor mortis on the face.

However, in such hot weather, to have livor mortis but no unpleasant sll was odd, wasn’t it?

Before ng Yao could voice her question, the cold man walked over to the cart, reaching out to touch the ’corpse’s’ face, peeling off patches of the so-called livor mortis.

Yet the person was still not breathing.

The cold man spread his hands towards ng Yao, "I know the livor mortis is fake, but as for not breathing, a doctor or forensic doctor would know how to handle it."

"Mind your own business, ddler!" The strong man’s gaze was sinister, "I’ll make sure you won’t ddle in others’ affairs in the future!"

With that, he revealed a gleaming knife.

The spectators scattered like birds and beasts, dodging far away, afraid of getting blood on themselves.

ng Yao calmly sidestepped the strong man’s attack, heading towards the cart, "As it happens, I’m a doctor."

The cold man, who was initially worried for ng Yao, seeing her unfazed and effortlessly evading the strong man’s attacks, felt relieved; this lady was genuinely skilled.

ng Yao took out a needle kit, picked the longest and thickest needle, and quickly jabbed it a few tis into the ’corpse’ on the cart. Soon, the ’corpse’ opened its eyes.

"Do you know how to deal with a criminal gang committing fraud?" ng Yao asked the cold man.

"For those like them, who’ve committed countless cris and are extrely vile, so victims even losing everything, ending their lives because of them. Even a death sentence would not be excessive!" The cold man replied.

"I agree, so shall we hand them over to the Governnt Office?" ng Yao dodged the strong man’s attack, countered by jabbing his wrist with the thick needle, causing the knife to clatter to the ground.

ng Yao jabbed him again, and the strong man staggered, falling to the ground.

The one pretending to be a ’corpse’ was still bewildered, getting tied up by the cold man with a rope.

The girl, pretending to sell herself to bury her father, began to cry, "Madam, sir, I was forced by circumstances to engage in such a trade with them! Your righteousness and rescue have delivered from misery. I cannot repay your imnse kindness, so I’m willing to serve you as a slave!"

ng Yao glanced at that man, "She wants to be a slave, should she serve you or ?"
