Huang Ying brought the doctor, who usually checked Zhao Old Madam’s pulse, back to the mansion.

After checking the pulse, the doctor advised her not to worry too much and to remain open-minded. As people age, the less they worry, the better it is for their health.

Zhao Old Madam, familiar with this doctor for many years, smiled bitterly and said, "As the elder in the family, who doesn’t worry and get anxious? We all understand the principle, but how many can achieve it?"

The doctor smiled and shook his head, "Your body is your own. If you don’t take care of it yourself, who can you expect to do it for you? Taking care of your health, eating supplents is not a cure-all. Fundantally, you must regulate your emotions; that’s the way to achieve twice the result with half the effort. Eat small als more frequently, move around more often — it’s better than any supplent."

"Alright, I will strive to follow your advice," replied Zhao Old Madam.

"Please have a look at this calming incense. How would it work for the old madam in my family?" Huang Ying took the chance to present the calming incense given by Zhao Xiaohua to the doctor.

The doctor sniffed it, then took out a blade, cut a small piece, ground it into powder, dipped so, and tasted it.

After savoring it carefully for a while, he nodded repeatedly.

"Good, good. If your old madam uses this calming incense for a while, her headaches may not be cured, but at least the frequency will decrease. Where did you get this calming incense?"

"Soone else gave it," Huang Ying replied.

"It’s good stuff," said the doctor.

"With your words, I dare to let the old madam use it," Huang Ying bowed respectfully to the doctor.

"With this calming incense, I won’t prescribe dicine," the doctor said. "There are still matters at the clinic, so I’ll take my leave."

Huang Ying handed over the consultation fee and saw the doctor off.

After returning, Zhao Old Madam curiously asked, "Who gave the calming incense? Why didn’t I know?"

Huang Ying gently massaged her head as she spoke, "I just brought it back, so of course, you didn’t know. Miss Xiaohua heard about your headaches and asked to bring it back for you. However, she wasn’t sure if it was suitable for you, so she reminded to have the doctor who usually checks your pulse take a look."

Zhao Old Madam was a bit surprised, as the doctor who checked her pulse was quite renowned at the Hundred Herbs Hall. Previously, the Imperial Hospital had invited him multiple tis to no avail. The aristocratic families and nobles preferred to consult him for any ailnts.

If he praised sothing, it indeed wasn’t ordinary.

"Didn’t you ask where Xiaohua got this calming incense from? She is willing to part with such a valuable thing," Zhao Old Madam said happily.

"I noticed Miss Xiaohua has quite a few bottles and jars in her trunk, so I guess she either made it herself or our eldest daughter-in-law did. Otherwise, who would carry a whole box of incense balls and pills around?" Huang Ying speculated.

Zhao Old Madam knew that ng Yao knew dicine and that Zhao Xiaohua was learning dicine from her eldest daughter-in-law. But she never paid much attention, thinking they were only superficially versed in dicine.

It seems now that she had underestimated them.

Her eldest daughter-in-law, although from the countryside, didn’t lose out to noble ladies.

Or rather, which noble lady could compare to her?

Zhao Old Madam couldn’t help but eagerly wish to et her eldest daughter-in-law.

If a person raised such a well-mannered child, they surely can’t be bad.

"From now on, send the best local delicacies from the Capital City to the Du Mansion daily. It’s already quite a bother for them to house us; we shouldn’t let them bear any costs for food and clothing." Zhao Old Madam instructed.

"Once in a while is understandable, but doing it frequently would draw attention," Huang Ying advised softly. "Young Master Dahe and Miss Xiaohua are currently unwilling to..."

"Yes, yes, if you hadn’t reminded , I would have forgotten. What should we do then?" Zhao Old Madam frowned.

"Perhaps you could send them so silver to carry? This way, whatever they want to eat or do, they can do anything with money in hand," Huang Ying suggested.

"Quickly bring my money box," Zhao Old Madam urged.

Huang Ying fetched a heavy redwood box, opened it, revealing rows of neatly arranged gold bars on one side and stacks of silver notes on the other.

"Gold is too conspicuous, send them silver notes instead. Let’s be fair — two thousand taels each," Zhao Old Madam thought a mont and decided, "Tell them not to save it, and if they run out, their grandmother will give more."

Huang Ying nodded in agreent.

A maid outside lifted the curtain, "Old Madam, the kitchen has sent over Cloud Cake."

Huang Ying received the food box.

Zhao Old Madam asked, "Have the second and third houses received theirs?"

The maid replied respectfully, "Sent to you first, then imdiately to the second and third masters."

"Let the second and third madams taste them," Zhao Old Madam said.

"Yes."

Huang Ying served a piece of Cloud Cake to Zhao Old Madam, who squinted her eyes and savored it carefully, nodding repeatedly to Huang Ying, "You try a piece, see if it tastes better than usual?"

"I won’t be modest then," said Huang Ying.

Huang Ying also took a Cloud Cake to eat, and indeed, after careful tasting, it was tastier than before.

"Send Mrs. Li to see ," Zhao Old Madam said after eating another piece.

A maid imdiately headed to the kitchen.

When Mrs. Li received the ssage, she felt anxious, untied her apron, straightened her clothes, and followed the maid to Chaohui Hall.

"Nanny, how did the Old Madam find the Cloud Cake?" Mrs. Li asked.

"Rest assured, Mrs. Li, the Old Madam keeps complinting it," the maid replied.

Only then did Mrs. Li feel relieved; as long as the Old Madam was satisfied.

When Mrs. Li arrived at Songhe Hall, Zhao Old Madam had already eaten half a plate of Cloud Cake. If Huang Ying hadn’t put them away, she would have eaten more.

Cloud Cake is delicious but tricky to digest. The old lady’s stomach isn’t strong, so eating too much could lead to indigestion and discomfort.

"Mrs. Li, did you taste the Cloud Cake after it was made?" Zhao Old Madam asked.

Mrs. Li quickly nodded, "I did."

"What do you think of the taste?"

"In response to the Old Madam, I feel that its texture is better than before," Mrs. Li answered honestly.

"Do you also think so?" Zhao Old Madam’s smile widened.

"Yes," Mrs. Li responded.

"Do you know who suggested the improvent?" Zhao Old Madam was eager to boast about how impressive her granddaughter was.

Mrs. Li felt a bit puzzled; wasn’t it you, Old Madam, who asked for the improvents?

Even specifying how to alter it.

Huang Ying lightly coughed, and the words on Zhao Old Madam’s lips were swallowed back; she couldn’t boast, which was frustrating.

Zhao Old Madam cleared her throat, "It was , the old woman."

"The Old Madam is remarkable," Mrs. Li praised. "We’ve been using the sa recipe for years, I never thought of improving it, and I feel guilty."

"Ah, it’s nothing. Not everyone has the talent for it!" Zhao Old Madam spoke honestly, but her heart said differently, My granddaughter has this talent, she’s impressive!

Mrs. Li responded, "Please continue to guide in the future, Old Madam."
