At one o’clock in the morning, the dormitory building in the Eastern District of Imperial University was silent.
Aunt Wang, who was sleeping soundly and was disturbed from her warm bed by the cold wind, harbored a bellyful of complaints, but before she could voice her displeasure, she deflated in a second when facing the director responsible for student accommodation.
The building’s door opened, and a young woman, striking like a beautiful female celebrity, rushed up to the director and said, "I’m sorry to trouble you," before running up the stairs.
Minutes later, she returned, not even glancing at Aunt Wang or the director, and walked straight toward the car.
In the darkness beneath the Chinese parasol tree, a black Maybach sat quietly.
The young woman approached, and the rear window slid down.
From afar, Aunt Wang could only see the dark figure in the back seat; even though she couldn’t make out the face, the terrifying atmosphere alone was enough to indicate that this was certainly a big boss.
"...in disrepair... haunted... suicide..."
The cold wind blew, and Aunt Wang vaguely heard a few words but didn’t have ti to ask the director what had happened before the sound of a distant car, along with its sweeping headlights, startled her.
Vice Principal Wen, in charge of student affairs.
Director Liang, from the Student Departnt.
Dean Zhao, of the Research Departnt.
The car door opened, and a flurry of leaders stepped out.
It seed that only at this mont did they realize that sothing serious had occurred, prompting Aunt Wang to instinctively step back.
"President Xiang, what brings you to Imperial University this late at night?" Dean Zhao asked, his heart racing.
Imperial University was most famous not for its century-old reputation or its status as a top academic institution, but for its core research facilities.
The national governnt allocated funds yearly, but for those ti-consuming, labor-intensive, and costly research projects, it was rely a drop in the bucket.
Therefore, Imperial University cooperated with qualified comrcial companies.
Imperial University provided personnel, companies provided funding, and future research outcos were shared proportionally, benefiting both parties.
If other comrcial companies were partners to Imperial University, then the Fu Family was its absolute financial backbone.
The well-known Uncle Fu wasn’t a student at Imperial University, but from the year he took control of the Fu Family, he had sponsored the research center of Imperial University with 50 million each year, assisting them in their research and demanding nothing in return.
Moreover, Imperial University’s outstanding graduates also had priority employnt rights at the Fu Family.
Giving without asking for returns, the Fu Family was regarded as a glowing philanthropist in the hearts of school leaders at Imperial University.
Every year-end, the school would contact Xiang Yang, wanting to invite Yanci for a al or a tour of the research center as a gesture of appreciation and to prove that the Fu Family’s sponsorship was not being squandered.
But whether it was official or private, all were refused.
Years had passed and the school leaders had never even seen Uncle Fu.
Unexpectedly, in the middle of the night, Uncle Fu had co to Imperial University.
And he had stopped outside the girls’ dormitory, no less.
Fearing that so careless girl from the Eastern District might offend Uncle Fu and consequently risk the 50 million research funding, Dean Zhao looked toward the rotund custodian hiding by the pillar, furious, his beard trembling.
"Just a private matter."
Xiang Yang glanced at the back seat, then warmly smiled at Dean Zhao, "Fanxing Apartnt is now open. If convenient, could you grant a slot?"
???
In the middle of the night, just for an apartnt slot?
Dean Zhao was stunned.
Beside him, the cluster of school leaders exchanged bewildered looks.
