An half hour had passed, yet the anticipated chaos had failed to materialize.

He Chen abruptly stood up, and took just one step forward before sensing that sothing was amiss.

Vincent was the best bar in Imperial City, boasting the most explosive bands and stage performances.

No matter how well the soundproofing was done, sitting in a private booth, one could still feel the floor vibrating with the sound waves.

But the sensation of vibration and the buzzing noise in the eardrums seed to have vanished long ago. At this mont, both inside and outside were eerily silent, as if the entire world had turned into a desolate wasteland.

With an inexplicable sense of panic gripping his heart, He Chen quickly stepped forward and pulled open the door.

The scene before him made his pupils constrict sharply.

The colorful light balls were still rotating, but the noisy music had already stopped.

Under the flood of multicolored lights, the bar’s main hall and booths were still packed full of people.

But at this mont, everyone seed to be playing a ga of statues.

Those in the booths sat rigidly on their sofas, not daring to move a muscle.

People on the dance floor were either squatting or kneeling, all holding their hands up behind their heads in unison.

More than a dozen people, each dressed in black and wielding guns, patrolled the area. The index finger of each person’s right hand was on the trigger, ready to shoot without permission if soone stepped out of line.

The vast hall was deathly quiet; not even a whisper of breath could be heard.

He Chen’s complexion turned deathly pale.

He glanced towards the bar’s entrance as if seeing a ghost, and in the next instant, the door was pushed open from the outside, and a tall figure ca in slowly.

Knowing who it was, He Chen still held a sliver of hope deep down.

His gaze settled on the shadowy distance as the figure drew nearer and nearer.

When the beam of light swept over once again, He Chen finally saw Fu Yanci’s dark, grim face and instinctively took a step back, "Uncle Fu..."

He wanted to say that Ye Li had already left, that he hadn’t laid a finger on her.

He also wanted to say that he would no longer pester her in the future.

But eting Fu Yanci’s sinister gaze, it was as if he already knew everything.

He Chen’s heart sank deeply.

In the blink of an eye, Fu Yanci had reached the entrance of the booth.

With a wave of his hand, the two bodyguards trailing behind him automatically retreated to a distance.

As Fu Yanci stepped into the room, he seed to rember sothing and abruptly stopped.

He rolled up the left sleeve of his outer garnt and thodically began unbuttoning his cuffs. Clicking, Fu Yanci unfastened his wristwatch and gently placed it on the white towel atop the small cart by the door.

Upon seeing his actions, He Chen’s eyes widened in terrified understanding as he looked towards Fu Yanci entering the room.

Everyone in the circles of Imperial Capital’s rich family knew Uncle Fu was ruthless.

In business, if he chose not to act, all was well, but once he did, he would resolve it with a lightning strike.

Everyone said that Uncle Fu looked gentle and refined, but was in fact deep and unfathomable.

But He Chen knew—this Uncle Fu’s martial prowess was even more unfathomable than his mind.

It’s just that he never made a move.

And now, was he about to act against him?

All for a Ye Li?

"Uncle Fu... it wasn’t !"

With no place to retreat, He Chen backed against the wall, stamring his defense: "That drink, it was brought by the bar’s waiter, I drank it too, I..."

Bang!

As if ntioning the cup of drink had made it worse, He Chen hadn’t finished his words before being gripped by the collar and pinned against the wall by Fu Yanci.

"He Chen!"

Fu Yanci’s expression was icy, "When she was your fiancée, you couldn’t protect her! After she left you, you still had to disgust her... what kind of man are you!"

The tight grip on his collar seed to cut off all his breathing, and in an instant, He Chen’s face turned pale and ashen.

Unable to reach the floor with his tiptoes, seemingly drained of all strength to struggle, He Chen’s vision started to black out.

The mont Fu Yanci let go, He Chen inhaled deeply as if instinctively.

Bang!

A heavy punch landed on his left cheek.
