Chapter 2091: Wiping Out The Hideout II
The old Gnome tried to make a move, but right before his eyes, he saw Grey slaughtering the remaining Seventh stage Sovereigns, and they did not even put up any form of resistance. Grey did not stop with just the Seventh stage Sovereigns. At the same time he struck, multiple inscriptions appeared in the sky and attacked the Sixth stage Sovereigns as well.
None of the Seventh or Sixth stage Sovereigns could react as they watched Grey’s attacks land on them. Even with their strength, without setting up any form of defense, it was almost impossible to survive this attack.
The bodies of Gnomes and Necromancers dropped from the sky like overripe fruits. The eyes of the old Gnome were so wide that it looked like it would pop out of his head at any moment. In an instant, so many experts had been wiped out without them putting up any defense. What sort of freak was this?
The old Gnome roared as he sent his puppet after Grey. While doing this, he ordered the survivors, “Run! Run! You must ensure you report Grey’s appearance and strength to the emissary, I’ll stop him.”
The old Gnome had given up the idea of making Grey as his puppet, he knew it was impossible. When Grey was still an Eighth stage Sovereign, he was able to trade blows with a Peak Sovereign. It was well known how freakish Grey’s strength was, so he did not have any confidence they could defeat him since Grey had not gone all out yet.
The Gnomes did not have any new information on Grey’s strength since he disappeared almost a year ago after the failed assassination.
Now Grey appeared not just as alive and well, but he had grown even stronger.
Grey was taken aback when he heard the Gnome mention this, but then he quickly understood that other than his father who would not carelessly spread the news of him killing an emissary, the scouts would also be told to keep this information from spreading. This meant the Gnomes did not have any knowledge of him being the one who killed the Gnomes.
‘No wonder dad told me to use the element of surprise in every battle for the main time.’ When they were leaving, his father told him when faced with Gnomes and Necromancers in the battlefield, he should not expose himself too quickly to make sure he could capitalize on the fact that he could kill off a few experts with his ability to cut off their connections to their puppets.
He did not bother to try to stop the survivors the old Gnome told to escape. There were only eight of them left, and they were all below the Sixth stage of the Sovereign Plane. He sent a voice transmission to Void to help him stop them from escaping, getting the bunny leader to step out and help as well. With the duo taking action, it was impossible for the survivors to go far.
Now that he knew he could use his full strength, Grey took a heavy breath before charging at the puppet.
Bokm!
Their clash this time was unlike the previous ones. The puppet was forced to retreat. As it retreated, a four colored fusion orb appeared before it, exploding when it came in contact with it.
The old Gnome coughed up a mouthful of blood, and after making some hand seals, he opened his mouth and spat out a small figure. The figure quickly enlarged, turning into a puppet. The aura this puppet gave off was not as strong as the Darkness Elementalist puppet, but it was still surprisingly in the Ninth stage of the Sovereign Plane as well.
The old Gnome pointed at Grey, sending the Ninth stage puppet after him.
Grey was forced to stop his follow-up attack on the Darkness Elementalist puppet since he had to block the attack ing from the new puppet.
He blocked the attack, but was faced by another by the Darkness Elementalist puppet which he felt should take some time to regain itself. It was only after he sensed the attack he recalled these things were puppets and not humans who would be slowed down by injuries. Puppets felt no pain, so for that reason they naturally would not be affected too much by injuries.
Grey faced off against the two puppets at the same time, taking attacks from both as he countered as well. Albeit facing two opponents alone, he was still able to counter due to his vast fighting experience. For someone his age, he had faced thousands of battles which honed his abilities to such levels.
The old Gnome watched them fight and felt a stinging pain in his chest. Acquiring such a person as a puppet would take him straight to the top of the world in only a few years or at most a hundred years. Although it was heard, it was very possible to continue growing one’s puppet, and as the puppet grows, it strengthens the owner as well.
While he was thinking about what owning someone like Grey felt like, he heard the voices of the survivors. Turning around, he realized they had not left yet. His eyes turned red from rage as he questioned, “What the hell are you still doing here?!”
One of the Fifth stage Sovereigns replied, “We were blocked by a black cat and white rabbit. There was also a young girl with them as well.”
The old Gnome shuddered when he heard this. The implications of the Gnome’s words was that Grey already had help, and when he recalled Grey’s details, there were indeed mentions of him having a strange black cat, and an even stranger white bunny. The black cat is strong as it had fought a couple of times beside Grey, but they did not know the strength of the bunny as it generally only appears when Grey was certain to win.
‘This is how it ends?’ He asked himself, feeling defeated as he almost fell to the ground. Feeling the ripples from the impact of the battle between Grey and the puppets, he dragged himself up and refocused.
“No, I refuse to believe he can defeat both my puppets.”
