Peng Hui jealously muttered under her breath: "Damn! That’s enough, you! What are you showing off for!"

The barbecue arrived, and the two of them started grilling and eating, Zhao ii picked up a grilled sausage, took a bite, and inhaled sharply from the heat: "Ouch, this is delicious, you must try it!" Saying this, she stuck out her tongue and licked the twitching sausage.

Peng Hui looked at her: "Can’t you just eat it? Why are you licking it like that... like..."

Zhao ii: "Like what! ... I think you’ve been watching too many movies! You pervy!"

Peng Hui had a mischievous look on her face: "Hey, tell , what do you and your brother usually do? Is it like those movies with all kinds of tricks? Do you use props? What kind of pajamas do you wear at ho?"

Zhao ii stuffed the remaining sausage into her mouth, rolled her eyes with disdain: "I refuse to discuss the subtleties of ink paintings with soone who hasn’t even experienced their first love."

After a mont, Zhao ii asked: "How are things going with your sister and brother-in-law? Did they get divorced?"

Peng Hui spoke coolly, looking pleased: "They must get divorced! But we have to wait until after the New Year for the court to divide the assets."

Zhao ii knew nothing about this stuff, so she asked: "Wasn’t the house sold? Can your sister get any money?"

Peng Hui calmly said: "When my sister decided to divorce, she had the court freeze several of Sun Yingyu’s bank accounts. It’s said there’s over two million inside. The house was actually bought with money from Sun Yingyu’s parents before the marriage, so it’s considered pre-marital property, not subject to division in divorce."

Zhao ii nodded: "Well, at least your sister can get so money, maybe buy a place to live first."

Peng Hui said: "At first, my parents and I advised my sister to go back ho to live. That money could buy a house there without a loan, plus my parents could look after her a bit."

Zhao ii rembered Peng Hui saying Peng Rui always despised their family’s poverty, so she asked: "Will your sister be willing to go back?"

Peng Hui shook her head: "My sister absolutely refuses to go back. Even for New Year’s Eve, my parents had to co to the provincial city to spend it together."

Peng Hui frankly admitted to Zhao ii: "ii, did you know? My sister has changed. On New Year’s Eve, my parents traveled by bus to visit and made a whole spread of dishes. My sister complained non-stop, saying the at was tough, the vegetables were bland, and after the al, she threw a fit because my mom didn’t use the dishwasher to sanitize. At that mont, I almost wanted to have a big argunt with her..."

Zhao ii: "Peng Hui..."

Peng Hui picked up a piece of barbecue, blew on it, and stuck it in her mouth, speaking unclearly: "I was really upset, but my mom held back, saying my sister was in a bad mood and told not to provoke her. I couldn’t sleep a wink that night, just staring, unable to fall asleep, frustrated and wanting to argue with my sister several tis."

With a crunch, Zhao ii, who was chewing on her chopsticks, accidentally bit a piece off.

She spat it out and reached for a spare pair of chopsticks.

Peng Hui gave her a glance, half-smiling, half-complaining: "I was just getting into my feelings when you suddenly did that, totally ruining my mood! So annoying!"

Zhao ii quickly waved her hand: "You go on, continue!"

Peng Hui’s sorrow ca and went quickly, and with Zhao ii’s interruption, she imdiately returned to her usual mischievous self: "Actually, it was nothing. I couldn’t hold back and wanted to talk to my sister. I found she hadn’t slept all night either and cried the whole ti. At that mont, I thought, ’Those to be pitied must have their reasons for being so,’ so I didn’t bla her much after that."

After Zhao ii heard, she sighed: "At least the divorce happened. Your sister just hasn’t co to terms with it yet. Once she does, she’ll realize family is the most important."

Peng Hui burst into laughter: "ii, I find you’ve changed too! Even the way you speak has got more depth."

Zhao ii grinned slyly: "I was always pretty deep, okay!"

The two of them laughed together for a while, then Peng Hui said: "I definitely won’t follow my sister’s old path. I must find a man who is wholeheartedly devoted to . I don’t ask for great wealth, just soone diligent, ambitious, who loves and treats well."

The second sester of the first university year passed uneventfully, the days flowed like water.

Dong Wenjie engaged in a fervent pursuit of Zhao ii, constantly calling, running into her often, sending flowers and snacks, and inviting her dormmates to als.

Zhao ii’s attitude was firm. She clearly told Dong Wenjie that she already had a boyfriend that she was very happy with and would never accept him.

Dong Wenjie refused to believe it at first, and Zhao ii didn’t dare to truly upset Shi Yang. With no other option, she tried every way possible to avoid Dong Wenjie, even refusing to stay on campus during the afternoons.

At first, Peng Hui was quite enthusiastic about chasing after Dong Wenjie, but as the May Day holiday approached, she officially announced in the dorm that she decided to give up this unrequited love.

Without Peng Hui involved, Zhao ii finally breathed a sigh of relief and thoroughly enjoyed the seven-day holiday she formally spent at ho.

Shi Yang’s mother-and-baby store business was booming. The brand drew more and more loyal custors, and the store on the pedestrian street officially opened after the New Year, marking the gradual expansion of the business.

The May Day holiday was a sales peak for the store, and Shi Yang was incredibly busy every day. With nothing else to do, Zhao ii went to the warehouse to help her mom and waited for Shi Yang to co by car to pick her up in the evenings.

After dinner, Zhao ii lay on the sofa calling Peng Hui.

During the holiday, Peng Hui helped her sister move and tidy the house, and after a busy day, her sister treated her to Japanese cuisine.

Peng Hui boasted to Zhao ii: "Oh, you wouldn’t understand, it’s all about the environnt. Plates served on little boats floating around the room with water. You just reach out and grab what you want to eat."

Peng Hui suddenly rembered sothing funny and shared it with Zhao ii: "You wouldn’t know; I was such a fool. Never ate it before, and when a little spherical dessert floated by, I grabbed it because it looked appetizing. When I put it in my mouth, I felt like my brain got purified—a piece of fish or sothing inside with a dollop of wasabi!"

Zhao ii reached over to the table for a water glass. Just as she grabbed it, she burst out laughing at the story, and the water spilled, causing her to jump from the sofa to fetch a cloth while still on the phone.
