Qu Chaozong looked directly into her eyes: "I accidentally overheard your conversation with that doctor just now."
Qu Chaozong paused, offering a tactful apology: "Sorry, I really didn’t an to."
"You care about ?" Zhang Xin’s expression was so matter-of-fact, as if she didn’t feel at all that having her privacy eavesdropped on was inappropriate. She smiled and asked back, "Chaozi, is a bit of my shadow starting to form in your heart?"
Zhang Xin gestured in the air towards Qu Chaozong’s chest.
Zhang Xin smiled like a female hooligan: "Do you really not want to try with ?"
The budding compassion in Qu Chaozong’s heart was instantly shattered, and he responded coldly with a frown: "I’m tired, I want to sleep!"
Qu Chaozong threw himself onto the bed, closed his eyes, and refused to interact with Zhang Xin anymore, so he didn’t see Zhang Xin slightly clench her hand at her side.
When Shi Yang arrived, sweating profusely, Qu Chaozong was lying on the hospital bed, staring helplessly at the IV bag hanging from the rack.
Shi Yang rushed a few steps closer and, after carefully checking, felt relieved and asked, "How do you feel? Any better?"
Qu Chaozong was extrely surprised to see Shi Yang: "Why are you here?"
Shi Yang replied: "Zhang Xin called and told ."
Hearing Zhang Xin’s na, Qu Chaozong was silent for a mont, then quickly covered it up and said: "I’m fine. The doctor said that after finishing this set of nutrient drips, I can go ho and rest."
Shi Yang, with a stern face, chided him: "Your body can’t take it anymore, yet you keep pushing through. How many tis have I told you? You don’t know how to take care of your own body! Do you really think you’re made of iron?"
Qu Chaozong had a pleading expression: "I’ll definitely be more careful next ti."
Shi Yang glared at him: "I find that you just don’t cry until you see the coffin!"
Shi Yang stood up: "I’m going to settle your dical expenses. By the way, where’s Zhang Xin?"
Qu Chaozong replied indifferently: "She went out for sothing."
Shi Yang nodded, not really concerned about where Zhang Xin went or what she was doing.
After Shi Yang left the ward, Qu Chaozong lay alone on the bed, the relaxed expression on his face vanishing in an instant.
Shortly after Shi Yang left, Zhang Xin ca in from outside, carrying a bag of fruit.
Zhang Xin sat by the bed, casually placing the fruit on the cabinet beside her, and looked up at Qu Chaozong: "Feeling better?"
Qu Chaozong nodded, looking at Zhang Xin with a complicated expression.
Zhang Xin’s long wavy hair was let down, its color changed again, this ti to burgundy, which shone brightly in the sunlight.
She had delicate makeup on her face, paired with a chiffon blouse with three-quarter sleeves and tight-fitting pants that exposed her ankles.
Sitting in the chair, her long legs crossed over each other, her hands resting casually on them, her fingers slender and fair, with her nails painted in bright colors.
Looking at the glamorously dressed Zhang Xin, Qu Chaozong felt as if he suddenly had the ability to see through the flesh and see her scarred soul.
Contrary to his usual disdain, Qu Chaozong politely thanked her: "Uh, thank you for today, Shi Yang just ca by, he went to handle the discharge procedures, he should be back soon."
Zhang Xin was montarily taken aback, because she vaguely felt that Qu Chaozong’s attitude towards her had suddenly beco much friendlier, and after a while, she nodded.
After receiving another dose of nutrients, Qu Chaozong left the hospital with Shi Yang.
Qu Chaozong sat in the car, watching Zhang Xin’s receding figure, hesitated for a mont, and still sent Zhang Xin a ssage, not expecting that his phone would ring before he even put it away.
Qu Chaozong had to repeat the ssage content over the phone: "Thanks a lot for today."
Zhang Xin, leaning against the car door, watched the pedestrians pass by from ti to ti: "You’re only going to thank verbally?"
Qu Chaozong’s voice ca from the phone: "Well, next ti there’s an opportunity, I’ll treat you to a al."
Zhang Xin paused for a mont, Qu Chaozong heard her light and long breaths through the phone, inexplicably giving away a hint of hesitation.
Zhang Xin replied: "Sure."
Zhang Xin stared at the phone, her mouth curved in a playful smile.
"What a fool." She murmured softly, her words drifting into the air, leaving no trace.
Shi Yang drove Qu Chaozong ho, tacitly not ntioning to the old lady at ho about the fainting incident, just saying the company gave him a couple of days off to rest at ho.
After settling Qu Chaozong, Shi Yang first rushed to the bakery to order a fruit cake, then drove to the city fire departnt, greeted Li Ke, and hurried to a restaurant to book a table and order dishes. Finally, he called his parents, informing them of the ti and place, before heading to the mall to welco his future parents-in-law.
In his free ti, Zhao Dazhuang often helps out at the mall aside from his Naughty Castle design work.
He changes light bulbs, fixes faucets, and if there are any minor flaws in Naughty Castle, like a floor mat being lifted by mischievous kids or a toy helt falling apart, he takes care of repairs and maintenance, also serving as security and other roles.
Liu Xiue is responsible for the cash register and managing the other staff at Naughty Castle, ensuring cleanliness and good service attitude.
Since Naughty Castle’s opening, everything has gone smoothly, and no incidents have occurred.
When Shi Yang arrived, it was the busiest ti at Naughty Castle. So parents, after their kids finish school early, would purposely bring them to play for a while before heading ho.
The staff were all familiar with their boss, and when they saw him, they greeted him with joyful smiles.
Shi Yang always approached people with a gentle manner, never putting on airs, making him very approachable privately. Plus, with his handso looks and wealth, and being single, the pretty staff under him all held a favorable impression of him.
Shi Yang smiled and greeted them, noticed Naughty Castle was quite busy, and headed straight to the cash register without looking closely.
Liu Xiue was sitting at the cash register, watching carefully to see if any staff were slacking off. When she suddenly saw Shi Yang, she quickly greeted him: "You called yesterday and said you’d be ho in the evening, why aren’t you taking a good rest today?"
Shi Yang smiled and said: "My dad and the others are free tonight, so let’s all get together."
Liu Xiue was delighted: "Sure."
As the two were talking, soone walked up behind them.
Liu Xiue, thinking it was a custor wanting to buy tickets, quickly greeted with a smile: "Hello, how can I help you?"
Hearing the sound, Shi Yang hurriedly stepped aside. He was just about to turn around when soone patted him on the shoulder, exclaiming in surprise, "Shi Yang!"
