"Baby..."

Damian Quinn deliberately dragged out the last syllable, his low, magnetic voice sounding like a hook, leaving Serena’s ears tingling.

Being pestered by him, Serena had no choice but to say, "I’ll go check on Nancy; I’ll co back to you later."

"Alright."

Only then did Damian reluctantly let go, watching the girl leave.

"Co on, Damian, stop looking. Your little wife is already far away! Besides, she’ll be back soon, is it necessary to be so reluctant?" Seth Sterling teased with a smile.

Damian glanced down at him with his narrow, deep-set eyes and then sneered, "How would soone without a wife understand?"

Seth Sterling: "..."

Not fair showing off your affection like this!

Seth Sterling instantly felt a million points of damage, pouting, "Without a wife, I have freedom. Damian, I don’t want to be as henpecked as you! Even if I get married, I’ll be the one who calls the shots at ho!"

Damian couldn’t be bothered to respond to him. So what if he talks tough now? Just wait until he ets the right person, he’ll eat his words.

"Damian, it’s a good thing you’re okay today..."

Thinking about what happened today, Seth Sterling still felt a wave of fear. If Damian hadn’t grabbed on to those vines hanging from the cliff after getting hit, he would have definitely died from the fall!

"Weren’t you afraid, Damian?"

Hearing this, Damian’s handso face remained expressionless, responding calmly and firmly, "More than dying, I’m more afraid of losing my girl!"

If he had to do it all over again, he would still unhesitatingly protect Serena!

...

As soon as Serena walked out of the hospital room, she saw Lucas Laine, who had clearly been waiting there for a long ti.

"Serena..."

As soon as he saw Serena, Lucas imdiately approached and handed her the ointnt he was holding, "Serena, I noticed your hand was injured earlier."

He was worried she was so concerned about Damian that she’d forget about her own injury! So he had been waiting there with the ointnt.

"No need, my hand has already been bandaged." Serena shook her head, refusing. When she arrived at the hospital, Damian had already called a doctor to bandage her hand.

Recalling this, a warmth surged in Serena’s heart; even she hadn’t noticed her own injury, but he had.

Hearing this, Lucas’s eyes dimd slightly, and he quietly put the ointnt away.

He hadn’t expected that even while severely injured, Damian would still be so attentive to matters concerning Serena...

Serena said, "By the way, Lucas, I have sothing to tell you. The batch of goods from The Netherworld Syndicate wasn’t destroyed, and it will be sent back tomorrow."

It turned out Damian hadn’t destroyed that batch of goods...

Lucas held the ointnt more tightly, but forcefully controlled his turbulent emotions, showing no expression on his face.

"Alright, I understand. I will ensure that batch of goods is returned to The Netherworld Syndicate as soon as possible."

"Okay." After finishing the business talk, Serena’s deanor turned serious, "Lucas, this afternoon I left my phone in your car. Chase Sherman called , why didn’t you tell about it?"

If she had known that Damian was discharged with a gastric bleed, she would have imdiately stopped him; there was no way she would have let him leave the hospital.

"I got so intel from the DY Organization and was eager to inform you about it, so I temporarily forgot about that matter."

Lucas had long been aware that this matter could only be hidden from Serena temporarily, not for long, so he had already prepared his explanation, flawless and without any loopholes.

Seeing Serena’s expression soften, Lucas’s gaze flickered slightly, and he spoke in a low voice again, "Sorry, Serena."

Serena is cold on the outside, but she’s softhearted towards her family, friends, and loved ones. If he apologizes proactively, she won’t hold a grudge over this matter.

Lucas truly understood Serena. After hearing his explanation, she didn’t dwell on it any further and naturally didn’t pursue it.

"It’s nothing, it’s not entirely your fault. I’m the one who left my phone in your car. Alright, I need to go see Nancy, we’ll talk about anything else next ti."

Watching Serena leave, Lucas unwillingly tightened his grip on the ointnt, his deep, narrow eyes dark and unclear.

He had always been the one by Serena’s side. He was before, and he surely would be in the future!

He absolutely wouldn’t let go just like that...

Serena had just reached the door of Nancy Sutton’s hospital room when she saw her older brother embracing and comforting Nancy.

"Nancy, it’s all my fault, I didn’t protect you well enough..."

Seeing Elliott Everett’s face full of remorse and self-bla, Nancy couldn’t help but feel distressed and hugged him back.

"Elliot, this isn’t your fault. Don’t bla yourself, it was my carelessness that led to Silas kidnapping ! If you hadn’t been the first to notice I was missing and contacted Serena, who knows how long it would have taken before soone realized I was gone!"

Elliott lowered his head to leave a kiss on her forehead, "Nancy, in the future, you must take bodyguards whenever you go out. I never want to go through sothing like this again..."

Thinking back on the previous events, Nancy felt a surge of fear and imdiately nodded obediently, "Alright, Elliot, I’ll listen to you."

Seeing such a warm scene in the hospital room, Serena didn’t plan to go in and be a third wheel. She was about to leave quietly, but Nancy had already seen her.

"Serena!"

Serena could only stride her long legs and walk in. Nancy imdiately grabbed her affectionately, instantly pushing Elliott aside and forgetting about him.

Seeing this, Elliott couldn’t help but chuckle wryly. He hadn’t expected that before; at ho, he had to compete with a few younger brothers for Serena’s attention, outside with Damian, and now even with his own girlfriend!

Tsk, what to do when your precious little sister is too popular?

Waiting online, quite urgent!

"Serena, it’s all my fault for dragging you into this ss. It’s a good thing you’re alright, or I’d really hate myself..."

Seeing Nancy’s self-blaming eyes turn red, Serena imdiately reached out to pinch her cheek, "What nonsense are you talking about? If anyone’s at fault, it’s for getting you involved. Silas was after , I’m the reason you got dragged into this!"

"No way!" Nancy imdiately retorted, "Serena, I won’t let you say that!"

Serena’s fair finger gently tapped her nose, "Then you can’t bla yourself either."

Nancy instinctively rubbed her hand, leaning against her arm and nodding obediently, "Alright, we won’t say that anymore! It’s all that darned Silas’s fault!"

Watching this, Elliott’s mood suddenly turned complicated. Nancy never acted so clingy or sweet in front of him, her boyfriend! This made it seem like Serena was more her boyfriend!

Tsk, why does he feel a bit redundant right now?
