Chapter 989: Chapter 989: Chu Ming’s Plea for Help
Wu Duo paced anxiously outside the examination hall, despite his confidence in Qin Sisi, he was still worried that sothing unexpected might affect her performance.
Finally, the door to the examination hall creaked open, and Yan Xi, Jin Xun, and Zheng Fang walked out in succession, with Qin Sisi following behind them.
Wu Duo hurried over and asked anxiously, "How did it go?"
No one paid attention to him; the three big shots just pulled long faces and sighed, while Qin Sisi watched from behind, wanting to laugh but not daring to.
Wu Duo’s heart sank, and he raised his voice to continue probing, "What happened? Will you say sothing?"
Jin Xun let out a long sigh, patted Wu Duo on the shoulder, and said gravely, "Old Wu, how did you end up accepting such a disciple?"
Wu Duo’s mind went blank, and his expression stiffened—could it be that Qin Sisi did not pass?
He quickly looked up at Qin Sisi, who had a calm expression, showing neither joy nor sorrow.
Even more confused, Wu Duo went straight to Qin Sisi and asked, "Sisi, did you pass or not?"
Just as Qin Sisi was about to answer, Zheng Fang walked up from behind and took hold of Wu Duo’s wrist, stuttering "You... you..." for a long ti without finishing his sentence.
Finally, Yan Xi struck Wu Duo’s chest with a punch, lanting greatly, "Wu Duo, you’ve struck it lucky, to have taken on such an outstanding disciple. How co I never et such promising talents?"
It was as if a huge firework exploded in Wu Duo’s mind, filling his chest with joy and excitent.
"Do you an, Sisi passed?" Wu Duo, having been put on edge by the sighing of the three big shots, needed a definitive answer.
Jin Xun pulled out the longsword that Qin Sisi had forged during the exam, and chucklingly said, "Take a look, one and a half stars, not bad at all!"
Wu Duo hurriedly took it and examined it closely. Naturally, he was very pleased with Qin Sisi’s craftsmanship, and then he looked at the very end of the sword hilt, where the grade of the longsword, indicating the level of the Forging Master, would be revealed.
Every Forgemaster Guild has a Magic Artifact that can test the grade of the forged items, which are said to be imbued with the magic power of the ancient gods of forging.
Once a finished product is placed within it, the testing Spiritual Artifact leaves a mark on it, denoting both the item’s grade and the Forging Master’s level of craftsmanship.
If a single star appears on the item, it ans its grade is First Level, and the level of the Forging Master is also First Level.
Similarly, two stars indicate Level Two, three stars indicate Level Three, and four stars indicate Level Four.
But at Level Five, instead of five stars, there will be the imprint of a crescent moon, and at Level Six, it will be a crescent moon with an additional star.
When the quality of a forged item reaches Level Ten, a sun mark will appear.
However, within the history of the Demon Sacred Realm, no forged item with a sun mark had ever appeared.
At the base of Qin Sisi’s longsword, there was a complete star and another half-star, indicating that her forging level was sowhat higher than a normal First Level Forging Master.
Wu Duo looked at Qin Sisi with joy and surprise. Initially, he would have been content with a score of eighty, but Qin Sisi had scored him one hundred and twenty.
Seeing Wu Duo’s excited eyes, Qin Sisi suddenly realized that he seed even happier than herself. She smiled at Wu Duo and raised her hand, revealing a gleaming golden dal in her palm that caught Wu Duo’s eye.
It was the Forgemaster’s dal, with the front engraved with the image of a forging furnace and a star beneath it, indicating that Qin Sisi was a First-level Forgemaster; the back had an image of a fla with Qin Sisi’s na engraved below it.
She successfully passed the exam and is now a First-level Forgemaster.
Wu Duo took a deep breath with relief, and only then did he realize that those three big shots were intentionally teasing him. He put on an annoyed face and cursed at them fiercely: "You three old monsters!"
"Alright, alright," Jin Xun said with a smile, patting Wu Duo’s shoulder, "You’ve got such a good apprentice; can’t we vent a little?"
Of course, Wu Duo wasn’t really angry; the group had been bantering for fun for more than a day or two.
He grandly waved and declared: "Anyway, you three have worked hard today; co on, I am treating you to a big al and fine wine."
The three n had been waiting for this very mont. As soon as Wu Duo made the offer, they imdiately responded in kind.
Wu Duo dropped Qin Sisi off at the entrance of the Forgemaster Guild, telling her to take a carriage back to Heavenly Magic God’s Castle on her own since the horse knew the way.
Qin Sisi could see that Wu Duo was in a good mood, so she smiled, said goodbye, and sat alone in the carriage, letting the horse pull her towards Heavenly Magic God’s Castle.
The streets where the Forgemaster Guild was located were quiet, but the route back passed through several bustling streets.
Qin Sisi didn’t realize where the carriage had reached when suddenly she heard a voice from outside: "Qin Sisi, are you in there?"
Qin Sisi was startled. She found the voice very familiar. She opened the carriage curtain to look, and standing outside was Chu Ming.
Chu Ming seldom spoke and his grades were average. He just buried himself in practice and had a low profile in class; Qin Sisi unexpectedly had not recognized his voice right away.
"Chu Ming, haven’t you gone ho yet?" Though they were not very close, they had been classmates for nearly half a year, so Qin Sisi casually greeted him.
Chu Ming smiled and replied: "I’ll go back tomorrow. By the way, did you pass the Forging Master’s exam?"
"I passed." Qin Sisi nodded. There was no need to keep it a secret as most of the teachers and students at Heaven Academy knew she was participating in the Forging Master exam.
"Congratulations!" Chu Ming quickly offered his congratulations to Qin Sisi.
"Thank you," replied Qin Sisi politely.
After a pause, Chu Ming said, "There’s a small favor I’d like to ask of you."
"What is it? Just tell !" If it was indeed a small matter, Qin Sisi was very willing to help a classmate.
Chu Ming replied, "I want to buy a sword, but I’m not very good at assessing their quality or understanding prices. Could you help
choose one?"
Upon hearing this, Qin Sisi thought that it indeed seed a simple matter and nodded saying, "Sure!"
Chu Ming’s face lit up with joy, and he pointed ahead, saying, "I was looking at them in that store. Co with
and have a look!"
"Okay," agreed Qin Sisi. She was about to jump down from the carriage when she suddenly realized that she didn’t know how to direct the horse to stop.
She had to ask Chu Ming, who also said with difficulty, "I don’t know either. Let’s just let the horse head back first. After buying the sword, we can walk back together. It isn’t far from Heavenly Magic God’s Castle here."
Chu Ming wore a pleading look, making it hard for Qin Sisi to refuse. It seed there was no other choice at the mont.
