Chapter 911: Chapter 911: Tacit Cooperation
Qin Sisi turned her head to look at Wen Xuan and Li Li, and said loudly, "Let’s start, take care."
"You too," Wen Xuan replied gently, while Li Li just nodded slightly.
Leading Xiao ng and Yun Cheng, Qin Sisi headed down the path to the right.
Seeing this, Li Li took the lead and walked down the path to the left.
The mont they stepped into Luoying Forest, the space around them rippled like water waves, and Qin Sisi knew there must be a powerful Formation set up here.
It seed normal, as each mountain of Heaven Academy had a special outdoor training ground, set up for different types of Attribute Magic.
Without setting up Formations, the Demonic Beasts inside might run around everywhere, which wouldn’t only make it difficult to serve its educational purpose, but also bring a lot of trouble to the school.
Qin Sisi walked forward slowly with Xiao ng and Yun Cheng, the trees becoming denser and the light in the forest growing quite dim.
After a while, they encountered no Demonic Beasts at all, not an iron mane boar, nor the most common birds, it seed like the forest was filled only with the sound of their footsteps.
This struck Qin Sisi as odd; such a dense forest shouldn’t be this quiet!
Xiao ng, sowhat impatiently, said, "How co we haven’t found anything? Could it be that the iron mane boars knew we were coming to disturb them and all got up extra early to hide?"
Qin Sisi shook her head and replied, "Impossible. Teacher Ru Lin must have arranged everything. Otherwise, if all nine students failed their task, it wouldn’t look good for the teacher either!"
Yun Cheng nodded and said, "I agree with Sister Sisi, let’s keep looking."
"Fine," Xiao ng replied listlessly and continued to follow behind Yun Cheng.
Qin Sisi walked a few more steps, then suddenly turned to ask Yun Cheng, "Yun Cheng, do you feel that the sounds you hear while in the ground are louder and clearer than those you hear on the surface?"
After a mont of thought, Yun Cheng answered, "Yes, indeed. Sotis the sounds you can’t hear on the surface co through clearly when you’re in the ground. When I am underground, I often use sounds to judge my surroundings."
Qin Sisi felt a lightbulb go off in her head and continued, "Iron mane boars are large and heavy; they definitely make noise when they move on the ground. Try burrowing into the ground now and listen, see if you can find so clues."
Yun Cheng’s eyes lit up: "Right, why didn’t I think of that?"
Without hesitation, Yun Cheng knelt on one knee, gathered Magic force around his head, then lowered it so that half of his head slowly sank into the ground, his entire ear covered by the earth.
After listening for a few minutes, Yun Cheng raised his head and said, "There are indeed so heavy footsteps nearby, but they’re very slow, I’m not sure if it’s the iron mane boar."
Xiao ng, quick to speak and act, said, "Whether it is or not, let’s go have a look."
Qin Sisi also agreed; after all, they had been searching for quite so ti and were eager to break the deadlock.
"Alright, follow ," Yun Cheng stood up and walked in the direction from which the sound ca, with Qin Sisi and Xiao ng following behind.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, they could hear the heavy footsteps without needing to burrow into the ground. As Yun Cheng had said, the steps were slow; under normal circumstances, the pattern of a Demonic Beast’s walk wouldn’t be like this.
They tread lightly, inching closer and gradually making their way towards the sound, shielded by the dense trees of Luoying Forest, carefully peering in the direction of the noise.
Upon sight, all three were overjoyed.
Indeed, underneath a large tree ahead was a Demonic Beast, and it just happened to be an iron mane boar.
Just when all seed lost, hope erged once more, as the saying goes.
Qin Sisi pondered for a mont, then made several hand gestures to Xiao ng and Yun Cheng, both of whom nodded solemnly in response.
Once more, the trio looked toward the iron mane boar and saw that it was circling the tree, and as it did so, it used its snout, hard as iron, to dig around the soil at the base of the tree.
It seed that before their arrival, the boar had been digging for a while, as the soil surrounding the tree had beco sowhat loose.
At the top of the tree, two greenfinches fluttered their wings in panic, circling around the treetop. On a branch was a nest, from which ca the delicate chirping of birds.
It appeared that the iron mane boar planned to knock down the tree and feast on the fledglings in the nest, which were not yet adept at flying.
Qin Sisi gave Xiao ng a firm nod, and almost simultaneously, they rushed out, shouting in unison, "Inescapable Net!"
Two large nets, interwoven with green vines, were thrown over the iron mane boar which boasted tough skin and strong defenses but was only average in speed. Before it could react, it was firmly bound by the two nets.
The iron mane boar roared furiously, desperately struggling to break free from the vine net.
Qin Sisi and Xiao ng stood on either side of the boar, each controlling one of the vine nets, continuously infusing them with Magic to maintain their sturdiness, leaving the boar powerless for the mont.
Seizing the opportunity, Yun Cheng suddenly leaped up, his arm raised high, channeling the magical power within him to form a powerful Vigor Gold Knife and slashing at the iron mane boar.
Since their goal was to injure but not kill, Yun Cheng restrained his full strength.
Cornered by the two vine nets, the iron mane boar had no escape and could only watch helplessly as the blade of the black machete struck, emitting desperate howls.
Yun Cheng took a breath and hurriedly went to check the wound of the iron mane boar, to his surprise, the wound was perfect, revealing the bone, eting the requirents set by Teacher Ru Lin, sparing him from a second slash.
"Yun Cheng, hurry up and heal it," urged Qin Sisi.
The injured iron mane boar, thinking its life was in peril, struggled even more fiercely. This creature’s strength was truly imnse; the vine net shook violently, causing Qin Sisi and Xiao ng to feel sowhat overexerted.
"Okay," Yun Cheng responded and imdiately summoned the Wood Attribute magical power, concentrating a green glow on his palm and covering the wound on the iron mane boar.
Feeling a gentle force relieve its pain, the boar’s struggles lessened slightly.
Twenty minutes later, Yun Cheng successfully healed the wound of the iron mane boar and promptly retreated to a distance as Qin Sisi had instructed.
Qin Sisi and Xiao ng looked at each other and silently counted one, two, three with their mouths, then simultaneously retracted the green vine nets and swiftly retreated.
The now-freed iron mane boar first flexed its muscles before fury blazed in its eyes as it glared at the three humans who had hurt it.
