Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Grass Shines Sunshine_1

Qin Sisi cradled Ye You, playing the role of a child custom for several hours. One by one, the other children were called back ho by their parents, leaving only Zhao Xiaopeng beside Qin Sisi. This was evidently due to Lin Xiaoyu’s prior arrangent with Zhao Xiaopeng’s parents, asking the young boy to accompany Qin Sisi and "experience life".

Zhao Xiaopeng was sowhat weary too, but he continued playing with sheer determination.

Feeling pity, Mrs. Wang Luo said to Qin Sisi, "Ms. Qin, the child seems to be tired. Let him go ho and rest."

Curiously, Qin Sisi asked, "Don’t you want to look at him for a while longer? Why are you urging him to leave?"

Although Mrs. Wang Luo’s eyes radiated profound affection, she responded calmly with a smile, "When you have a child, you’ll understand that their wellbeing matters the most, even if the mother must suffer a bit."

A pang of emotion gripped Qin Sisi’s heart, leaving her montarily at a loss for words. She suddenly recalled a story from her childhood.

Two won were fighting over a little boy, each claiming the child was theirs. The judge ordered the two won to pull an arm of the child each, and whoever had the greater strength to pull the child towards herself would claim the child.

The little boy scread in pain as both won pulled him. One woman let go, while the other held the boy close, flaunting her triumph. However, the judge handed the child to the woman who had let go.

Because she couldn’t bear to see the child in pain, she was willing to give up, even if it ant losing him forever. Hence, she was the true mother of the child.

Mrs. Wang Luo’s sentint at this mont must be akin to that woman’s.

With a deep sigh, Qin Sisi ruffled Zhao Xiaopeng’s hair and softly said, "Xiaopeng, let’s go ho."

Zhao Xiaopeng was fiddling with the toy Qin Sisi bought for him. Hearing her words, he looked up and asked, "Sister Sisi, are you leaving?"

Qin Sisi nodded and replied, "Yes, it’s getting late, and I have things to do tonight."

A slight reluctance appeared on Zhao Xiaopeng’s face. It was a rare occasion to have a big sister from the city to play with him for such a long ti. After a mont, he asked again, "Will you be coming back?"

Qin Sisi hesitated, then replied, "If I have the ti, I’ll co and see you again."

Even though she said so, Qin Sisi knew in her heart that the likelihood of her returning was slim.

Zhao Xiaopeng seed not entirely satisfied with her answer. Children are quite emotionally sensitive. They can sense sincerity or disingenuousness, yet most tis, they choose to believe.

Seeing Zhao Xiaopeng in a downcast mood, Qin Sisi bent over to him, saying, "It’s okay. You study well, and you can co visit

in the city in the future!"

This cheered Zhao Xiaopeng up considerably. Excited, he said, "Right, why didn’t I think of that? Uncle can co to the city, so I can co too. When that ti cos, I’ll co see you."

Qin Sisi smiled, saying, "Good, I’ll be waiting for you."

"Pinkie promise." Zhao Xiaopeng extended his little pinky.

A smile appeared on the corner of Qin Sisi’s mouth as she linked her pinky with his.

"Pinkie promise, once made must not be broken for a hundred years."

The crisp voice resonated, and the two shared a smile before happily heading towards ho.

After seeing Zhao Xiaopeng off, Qin Sisi returned to Lin Xiaoyu’s house.

Although Qin Sisi intended to stay in a hotel, Lin Xiaoyu insisted she stay with him and had prepared a bedroom for her with new bedsheets and a duvet cover.

Observing that Ye You didn’t react in any particular way, and considering that hotels in such small towns might be unclean, Qin Sisi agreed to stay over at Lin Xiaoyu’s house.

Ye You coldly inspected the clean and tidy bedroom. His violet eyes flashed an intense glare. He was curious to see whether Lin Xiaoyu was really a gentleman or pretending to be one. If he dared to make any unwanted advances towards Qin Sisi in the night, he swore to reduce him into scattered souls, never to reincarnate.

In the evening, Lin Xiaoyu escorted Qin Sisi to her bedroom, seemingly struggling with sothing he wanted to say.

Qin Sisi spoke up directly, "Whatever it is, just say it."

After so hesitation, Lin Xiaoyu finally blurted out, "The ghost that was attached to my mother, did you capture it, or did you drive it away?"

Unsure of Lin Xiaoyu’s intentions, Qin Sisi plainly confessed, "I captured it."

Lin Xiaoyu then said, "Could you let ... see it? I want to know why it chose to possess my mother."

Blinking, Qin Sisi gravely asked, "You want to ascertain for yourself whether or not ghosts really exist in this world, don’t you?"

Caught off guard, Lin Xiaoyu lightly blushed and muttered, "The uncertainty... it’s unsettling."

At this ti, Ye You let out a few "ows" from Qin Sisi’s arms.

Qin Sisi glanced at Ye You, her brow creasing slightly. After brief contemplation, she spoke, "If you insist, I agree to your request. However, it’s best to summon a ghost deep into the night. It’s still early, go and sleep first. I’ll call you when it’s ti."

Hearing Qin Sisi’s agreent excited Lin Xiaoyu. With a quick "okay
