Chapter 809: 809

Qin Sisi pondered briefly and asked, "So these foods look simple, but they’re actually very useful for practicing magic, right?"

Xiao ng nodded and crisply replied, "Yes, although one or two als won’t have much effect, eating them over a long period will definitely be helpful."

As soon as Xiao ng finished speaking, Qin Sisi imdiately took a big bite of the greens. As long as it was beneficial to magic study, she had to eat more regardless of the taste.

"Oh my gosh! Why is it this kind of al again? I thought the conditions would be better once I got to Heaven Academy, but it turns out we still have to eat this stuff, it’s infuriating!"

A very rude outcry resounded, and perhaps because there were few students at Heaven Academy, the dining hall wasn’t very large. Her shouting made everyone in the dining hall turn to look.

Qin Sisi and Xiao ng also turned their heads in curiosity. Who was so bold?

"Is it her?" The two exchanged a glance, then continued to bow their heads and eat silently, pretending to have seen and heard nothing.

The noisy person was Ya Ling, the second daughter of the Qing Ming Family, who had fought over a room with them the day before.

In addition to the students from Heaven Academy, there were about a dozen staff mbers responsible for various affairs of Heaven Academy also eating here.

However, everyone just gave Ya Ling a few strange looks and didn’t say a word.

Not having attracted everyone’s attention, Ya Ling seed a bit disappointed. She looked around the dining hall and upon seeing Qin Sisi and the others, a hint of disdain flashed in her eyes, and a cunning plan ford in her mind.

With a bowl of porridge in hand, Ya Ling walked elegantly in her white dress to a seat near Qin Sisi and the others and said loudly as she sat down, "Fortunately, I ca prepared."

With that, she took an oval-shaped object wrapped in a large green leaf out of her storage ring.

Ya Ling deliberately unwrapped it slowly, revealing the body of a small demonic beast that had already been skinned and roasted.

She placed her palm over the food she had brought and cast fire magic to heat it. Soon, a rich fragrance began to waft about, attracting almost everyone’s gaze, with so even starting to salivate.

"Hmph, showing off!" Xiao ng glared at Ya Ling jealously, envy, and hatred all mixed in her gaze, but her tongue couldn’t help licking her lips.

"What is that?" Qin Sisi pointed to the delicacy in Ya Ling’s hand and asked Xiao ng in a low voice.

Xiao ng replied, "A Blasting Rabbit, a First Order Demonic Beast. They’re easy to catch, but I don’t know where to find them in Heaven Academy. I should have asked my sister more about it."

Xiao ng looked quite regretful. If she had learned more about the ins and outs of Heaven Academy from Jing Jing in advance, perhaps her living conditions could have improved a great deal!

Being the center of attention made Ya Ling quite smug. Seeing that the Blasting Rabbit was heated just right, she stopped using the fire magic, blew on her food, and prepared to enjoy her al heartily.

Just as she tore off a rabbit leg and was about to take a satisfying bite, a sudden shadow flashed before her eyes and a gust of wind whooshed by.

By the ti Ya Ling ca to her senses, both the rabbit leg in her hand and the whole roasted Blasting Rabbit on the table had vanished without a trace.

"Who? Co out!" Ya Ling slamd the table heavily, stood up abruptly, and yelled furiously.

"Hmm... delicious!" A hoarse voice that did not betray its gender rang out from a corner.

Looking in the direction of the voice, an elderly grandmother whose age could not be discerned was sitting at a seat in the corner, smacking her lips with relish, in front of her lay a pile of Blasting Rabbit bones.

In the blink of an eye, she had devoured the entire Blasting Rabbit.

The grandmother was dressed in a gray cloth gown sared with grease, the nature of which was unknown. Her face was covered with wrinkles, resembling a withered leaf.

Ya Ling was furious and, like a gust of wind, rushed over to the grandmother. Without saying a word, she unleashed a Snowy Ice Arrow attack on the elderly woman.

The grandmother lazily lifted her hand, and a semi-transparent shield ford in front of her, and it was no ordinary shield.

Ya Ling’s attack forcefully struck the shield, then was entirely reflected back at her, the powerful wave of energy surging towards Ya Ling herself.

Ya Ling’s face turned to horror as she clumsily deployed a defensive skill in front of herself, but the hastily erected defense was no match for the fury of her earlier attack.

The Snowy Ice Arrow dispersed Ya Ling’s magic shield, depleting it of about half its energy, with the remainder blasting onto Ya Ling herself.

Ya Ling was thrown out of the cafeteria, her entire body covered in a layer of frost, her hair and eyelashes turned white, shivering so much she could hardly speak.

Fortunately for her, her intrinsic attributes were Ice Attribute; she was more resistant to ice magic, so the remaining energy of the Snowy Ice Arrow did not cause her severe harm.

The greasy old grandmother leaned on the table to stand, slowly shuffling to the entrance of the cafeteria, her sagging eyelids almost covering her cloudy eyes.

Looking at the disheveled Ya Ling, she said in a raspy voice, "Little girl, since you don’t understand the rules, let

teach you. In my cafeteria, you are only allowed to eat what I cook. Have you got that?"

When under soone’s roof, one must bow one’s head.

No matter how proud Ya Ling was, she could only hastily nod her head, but she felt both angry and humiliated inside.

She had always been pampered since childhood, beautiful with great magical talent. Her parents doted on her, her sister yielded to her, everyone around her flattered her. When had she ever been bullied like this?

Her ti at Heaven Academy had been nothing but setbacks. She had failed to secure the central room, and her handmaiden Xiao Tao had been injured. Though she felt no real pity for Xiao Tao, one must look at the master before beating a dog! Hurting Xiao Tao was like slapping her own face.

She hadn’t gained an advantage in yesterday’s fight because it was against Xiao ng and Qin Sisi, but she believed she would definitely win if it were a one-on-one fight.

But today, she was facing rely an elderly cook in the cafeteria!

The most humble character had easily beaten her in such a brief encounter, leaving Ya Ling struggling to accept this fact.

This feeling of indignation made it hard for her to be calm and composed, even affecting her studies in the future, where she often displayed a complex mix of arrogance and inferiority, frequently having her head in the clouds but failing to achieve the desired performance, thereby hindering her magical studies.

The staff mbers showed no expression on their faces, as if they had already anticipated the outco.

Only the new students, like Qin Sisi and her peers, showed surprised expressions, curiously looking towards the greasy old woman. Xiao ng was no exception.

Xiao ng’s eyes widened as she whispered in amazent, "Heaven Academy truly is a place where dragons hide among n; even a cafeteria’s grandmother is so powerful."
