Chapter 749: Chapter 749: Don’t Bother About Him_1
Due to the uneven magic abilities of the two hundred or so people present, Chief Pu Chen decided that they would travel by carriage.
Chief Pu Chen and his grandson, Yun Cheng, along with a dozen guards, took charge of leading the way, followed closely by the Qing Ming family, led by Clan Leader Gelun.
Next ca the carriage accommodating Ye You and Qin Sisi, with Yun Wang driving from outside the canopy and Jing Jing sitting next to him.
Originally, Yun Wang had suggested that Jing Jing sit in the carriage behind with ng Yu; however, Jing Jing insisted on caring for Qin Sisi, arguing that it was better to remain by her side.
Jing Jing stood her ground, and Yun Wang had no choice but to agree.
Behind Ye You’s carriage was the one in which Jun Ying travelled. Jun Ying had not yet recovered from his injuries, and sooner, when Qing Xun had left, he had asked Yun Wang to take care of him.
Now, with the sudden requirent for the Pan Hu family to migrate on a large scale, Yun Wang had the responsibility of ensuring Ye You’s safety. He chose two reliable guards to take care of Jun Ying and arranged for Jun Ying’s carriage to follow Ye You’s.
Following those were the carriages of ng Yu and Lie Feng. Although they were guests of the Pan Hu family, they were also the most talented disciples of the Jin Gang and Phantom Spirit families. Their powerful magic ant that staying at the back gave them a sense of protecting the rear.
However, the real rear guard was not them but General Kui Yong.
Leading the remaining guards, General Kui Yong walked behind, maintaining a certain distance from the main group. If any pursuers caught up, they’d be responsible for holding them off to ensure the rest could safely reach Scholar City.
Upon hearing Ye You recount the events, Qin Sisi realized how many things had happened while she was asleep.
She lifted a corner of the curtain inside the carriage to peek outside. As expected, it was already dark. In the dim moonlight, the dense forest cast a patchwork of shadows. The intertwining branches ford various strange shapes, like demons and monsters hiding in the darkness.
"How can I have slept so long?" Qin Sisi turned to Ye You, puzzled.
It had not seed that long since breakfast when she fell asleep. She figured she would wake up after two or three hours. When she did finally awaken, it was dark.
Ye You softly said, "Seeing that you were sleeping soundly, I let you rest longer. Sleep aids your recovery."
Qin Sisi shot him a glance, realizing it was Ye You’s magic that put her to sleep. She earnestly warned him, "Don’t do that again."
Ye You blinked at her and remained silent.
Qin Sisi embraced Ye You’s fluffy paw and said seriously, "I want to face this together with you."
Previously, Ye You had been a small black cat, and to have a serious conversation with him, Qin Sisi had to lift him to her face.
Now, Ye You was a large black panther, sitting next to her in the carriage, even slightly taller than her. She had to lift her head to et his eyes.
The sincerity in Qin Sisi’s words caused Ye You’s eyes to darken. He lowered his gaze to Qin Sisi’s pale cheek, softly bumped her forehead with his, and sighed, "Fool."
The rushed evacuation, spoken nicely, was a strategic relocation; spoken harshly, it was a flight.
But, Ye You had no choice. At this point, a direct confrontation with Tian Xiaozi left him no confidence of victory. All they could do was retreat and lay low, waiting for the right opportunity to strike.
How could Qin Sisi fail to feel the weight on Ye You’s mind?
The stifling, inky sky outside also made her anxious, but she knew she shouldn’t show it in front of Ye You.
Qin Sisi tried to steady herself and reassured Ye You softly, "Don’t worry. You also said that Scholar City is a sanctuary. As long as we get there safely, we should able to avoid danger for the ti being."
"I hope so!" Ye You responded in a whisper, his gaze flickering.
According to calculations by Chief Pu Chen and Ye You, if Tian Xiaozi’s n arrived at the city of Shenquan after daybreak and then realized that the place was abandoned, it would be too late for them to reach Scholar City.
However, if the other party did not honor their promise and entered the city of Shenquan early or sent soone to scout in secret, then they would easily spot the issue.
Ye You’s acquaintance with Tian Xiaozi was fleeting, whereas Chief Pu Chen had dealt with him for a year and found him to be suspicious and calculating. Tian Xiaozi most likely would not stick to the agreed-upon tiline. Thus, they had to remain alert and prepared.
During Ye You’s year in the human world, though he couldn’t practice magic, he gathered soul power. His character matured, and he began to understand that major issues required thorough preparation and left no room for negligence or wishful thinking.
Therefore, Chief Pu Chen and Ye You urged everyone around them to be on full alert.
Right then, a gentle voice from outside the carriage said, "Your Highness, Mistress Qin, it’s ti to heal. Is it convenient now?"
Qin Sisi and Ye You looked at each other and smiled. It was Jing Jing’s voice.
Ye You replied loudly, "Jing Jing, co on in!"
The carriage door uncovered, Jing Jing entered, bending slightly, and took a seat next to them, glancing inquiringly at Ye You.
Ye You turned to Qin Sisi and said, "I’ll let Jing Jing heal you. I’ll go outside."
Qin Sisi nodded, while Jing Jing couldn’t help but giggle.
A puzzled Qin Sisi asked, "What are you laughing at?"
"Nothing, nothing at all," Jing Jing quickly denied, urging Qin Sisi to take off her clothes.
Ye You quietly slipped out of the carriage and sat next to Yun Wang who was driving the carriage.
Undressing inside the carriage made Qin Sisi uncomfortable, especially when Ye You and Yun Wang were just outside. However, for the sake of treatnt, she had no choice but to take off her clothes as Jing Jing requested.
Jing Jing had Qin Sisi lay down while a shallow green light radiated from her palm. She slowly moved it over Qin Sisi’s deep brown skin, gradually healing the injuries bit by bit.
Qin Sisi felt warmth spreading from the places Jin Jing’s light touched, as if she was being gently toasted by a small warming furnace. It was very comforting.
An hour later, Jing Jing completed the treatnt. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, helped Qin Sisi put her clothes back on, and prepared to leave.
Qin Sisi wanted to say thanks, but before she could, Jing Jing interrupted, "I am leaving now. His Highness will keep you company."
"Wait," Qin Sisi stopped Jing Jing, adding gently, "Why don’t you stay? We could chat for a bit."
"But His Highness..." Jing Jing hesitated.
"Never mind him. Let him stay outside. He won’t freeze or starve." Qin Sisi didn’t see anything wrong with leaving Ye You outside.
Jing Jing pursed her lips and finally sat beside Qin Sisi. She couldn’t suppress her chuckle, rembering how worried and anxious Ye You had been when Qin Sisi fell unconscious.
