Chapter 734: 734
Only two people remained in the study which had been bustling just monts before—Lie Feng and ng Yu.
ng Yu stared at Ye You’s retreating figure, her heart tingling with irritation as she thought of his indifference towards her.
Seeing that ng Yu was upset, Lie Feng hurriedly stepped forward to comfort her. "He’s just worried about his injured friend and did not intentionally ignore you. Don’t be angry," he said.
ng Yu glared at Lie Feng resentfully. Was this supposed to be comforting? It felt more like rubbing salt in the wound.
"Which eye of yours saw him ignoring ?" ng Yu pouted her charming, rosy lips, looking at Lie Feng with a feigning anger.
Lie Feng felt his heart pound uncontrollably. Even ng Yu’s resentful gaze was absolutely beautiful.
He scratched the back of his head bashfully and chuckled. "I was just worried that you were upset," he admitted.
ng Yu blinked, her expression softening. "Don’t worry, I am not that petty. It’s late, you should head back and rest," she quipped.
After saying this, ng Yu turned around and left the study, headed towards the room the Panhu family had arranged for her.
Lie Feng was stupefied as he gazed at ng Yu’s graceful figure disappearing. "Actually, ng Yu does care about ," he thought to himself.
Thinking this, he grinned and quickly followed her. "Let
escort you back to your room before I rest," he suggested.
ng Yu shot a glance at Lie Feng, her reaction a re, faint smile, neither refusing nor agreeing.
To Lie Feng, that ek smile signaled her consent. Elated, he walked alongside ng Yu, heading towards her quarters.
Elsewhere, General Kuiyong was guiding Ye You’s party to the innermost courtyard of the Chief Mansion. The main house faced the courtyard entrance and was quite spacious. There were slightly smaller side rooms on each side.
Two guards stationed at the courtyard entrance and two at the main house. On General Kuiyong’s arrival, the guards saluted in succession.
Knowing the urgency of the situation, General Kuiyong waved them off, opened the door of the main house, and gestured invitingly, saying, "This is the room prepared for you. I hope it’s satisfactory."
At this point, Ye You was anxious as he swiftly nodded and said, "Thank you, General Kuiyong. I need Jing Jing to heal my friend’s injury. Please have so people guard the place, avoiding any intrusion."
"Yes, understood," General Kuiyong bowed and exited the room, closing the door behind him. He then gathered the four guards and gave them detailed instructions.
Normally, he would have assigned more guards. However, given Ye You’s sudden arrival, General Kuiyong was sowhat anxious. Hence, he chose to stay, taking a seat on the stairs leading to the main house. He closed his eyes to rest while keeping watch for Ye You.
Ye You gently laid Qin Sisi on the bed with a pitiful look in his eyes. Turning to Jing Jing, he said, "We were passing through the Birdsong Forest when a Moon Spirit Golden Peacock attacked. She was burned trying to save ."
His voice was heavy with guilt.
Jing Jing’s eyes flickered as she nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. She walked to the bedside, her fingertips delicately grazing over Qin Sisi’s scorched skin as she carefully assessed the damage.
Jing Jing, the second daughter of the Muyin family, belonged to a clan known for their wood attribute as their intrinsic attribute. Their healing magics were quite potent. Although Jing Jing’s combative abilities were not particularly strong, her healing skills were exceptional.
After assessing Qin Sisi’s injuries, Jing Jing breathed a sigh of relief. She swiveled around and said to Ye You, "It’s all right. Although her skin is severely damaged, her internal organs aren’t heavily impacted. There is no imdiate threat to her life. The Moon Spirit Golden Peacock that attacked you wasn’t of a very high level, was it?"
Ye You replied with surprise, "Sixth Order."
"Sixth Order?" Jing Jing gasped. A Sixth Order Demonic Beast was equivalent to a human Magic God level, two levels higher than Jing Jing and Ye You. A Magic God was a peak that seed insurmountable for soone like her.
"No, it can’t be. How can the flas of a Sixth Order Demonic Beast only cause this much damage? If she had been directly hit by it, she would have...." Jing Jing stole a glance at Ye You and didn’t finish her sentence, realizing that the injured woman must be very important to him.
Ye You was also sowhat puzzled. Although Jing Jing’s words were harsh, they were true. A low-level magician like Qin Sisi could not possibly withstand an attack from a Sixth Order Demonic Beast, so why did Jing Jing say that she wasn’t so seriously injured?
Exhaling a sigh of relief, Jing Jing spoke gently, "We can discuss this later. I need to begin healing her now, so please step outside."
Ye You shook his head, stubbornly replying, "I’ll stay."
Jing Jing looked at him surprisingly, sowhat embarrassed as she pointed out, "But I need to remove all her clothes."
Ye You nodded, "I understand, it’s okay."
Having heard Ye You’s response, Jing Jing didn’t have the heart to ask him to leave. She blushed slightly as she silently speculated about the relationship between Ye You and the injured woman.
As the flas had raged so aggressively, Qin Sisi’s clothes hadn’t completely burned off, but rather had fused with her charred skin.
Despite Jing Jing’s utmost care, large patches of skin were torn off along with the formless, colorless clothes, revealing the tender flesh underneath.
Although Qin Sisi, unconscious, did not cry out in pain, Ye You could feel her suffering. His eyes welling up, he forced himself to continue watching.
Jing Jing removed all of Qin Sisi’s clothes and saw that from chest to kneecap, almost no skin was left untouched by the burns.
Ye You took a deep breath and asked Jing Jing softly, "This is hard to ask, but she’s a young woman. Can you minimize the scarring?"
If Qin Sisi were to wake up and see herself in this state, he knew she would be heartbroken.
Jing Jing hesitated before responding, "I will do my best, but given the extent of the damage to her skin, it will take a prolonged period of healing for her to fully recover."
Ye You nodded and said softly, "I see, do your best. There’s no rush. As long as she can fully recover, later will be fine, too."
Blossoms bloom slowly by the roadside. Nobody wants your recovery more than I do. But for you to recover better, I’d rather take it slow.
Upon hearing Ye You’s words, Jing Jing heaved a sigh of relief. She had been afraid that he would demand her to heal Qin Sisi in a day or two, which would be impossible for her.
Jing Jing was just about to start administering healing magic on Qin Sisi when her eyes landed on the Golden Tower Phantom Crystal around her neck. Taken aback, she asked sowhat delightedly, "Is this...?"
Ye You answered, "The Golden Tower Phantom Crystal, found by chance in the human world."
