Chapter 716: Chapter 716: Crossing the Demon Sacred Realm_1
As soon as Qin Sisi and Ye You entered the ti tunnel within the mirror, they were swept forward by an enormous suction force. Ye You imdiately sensed sothing unusual, swiftly turned around, hooked his arm around Qin Sisi’s neck, and shouted, "Hold on to !"
Without hesitation, Qin Sisi extended her arms and tightly embraced Ye You’s petite fra, her cheek pressed against his soft fur.
In this bizarre environnt, with wild winds raging, they would likely be torn apart and thrown in different directions if they weren’t clinging onto each other.
Wind howled in her ears, and Qin Sisi felt like a sheet of paper, lightly fluttering every which way, tumbling and spinning through the air under the force of the powerful gusts.
Wrapping her arms tightly around Ye You, she had her eyes tightly shut and was powerless to do anything but surrender herself to the wind.
After an indeterminate amount of ti, a sudden violent ripping force attacked her, making Qin Sisi feel as though she was being ruthlessly squeezed in the palm of a gigantic titan, her body on the verge of being crushed.
She couldn’t help emitting painful moans. Ye You whispered in her ear, "Hang in there. We’re almost...."
The latter part of his sentence suddenly beca faint, as if it was coming from far away.
Confused for a mont, Qin Sisi quickly opened her eyes, realizing to her horror that her arms were empty – Ye You was nowhere to be found.
The torturous tearing force had been too much to bear. Her arms had involuntarily loosened for a mont, and Ye You had been swept away by the wind.
"Xiao Hei!" cried out Qin Sisi in alarm.
She called out loudly, but as soon as she opened her mouth, a gust of icy wind blew inside, forcing her to quickly close her lips.
All she saw was an empty void. Ye You was gone.
Despairing and helpless, Qin Sisi could only let the wind continue to carry her forward.
In Phoenix City, the bustling hub with heavy traffic, and the grandiose and ancient Royal Palace, life went on as usual. The residents continued living peacefully, and the guards carried on with their duties, as if the bloody massacre of a year ago had been erased by ti.
However, in a secluded corner of the palace, a non-descript shed was heavily guarded. Originally a temporary jail for criminals, it had recently been massively renovated by the Regent Ruler and placed under guard. No one was allowed to enter without the Regent Ruler’s permission, not even the much-pampered Regent Patroness.
A year ago, Sage Ruler Tian Yu suddenly passed away and Prince Ye You disappeared. Tian Yu’s brother, Tian Xiaozi, the only person left of the Jiuxi Royal family with legitimate bloodline, wanted to ascend the throne as the Sage Ruler.
However, the other eight great families disagreed. They believed it was Prince Ye You who was the legitimate heir to the throne and insisted that Tian Xiaozi find Ye You.
After much disagreent, they finally reached a compromise. Within three years, if Ye You could be found, he would inherit the throne.
During these three years, Tian Xiaozi would be in charge of all affairs in the Demon Sacred Realm as the "Regent Ruler".
If Ye You did not appear within the three-year period, it would be assud that misfortune had befallen him and Tian Xiaozi would beco the rightful Sage Ruler.
A year has now passed, with no sign of Prince Ye You.
Although there were two years remaining, the mood was starting to change. As long as their family’s interests were not affected, does it really matter who beca the Sage Ruler? After all, they were all descendants of the Jiu Xi dynasty.
With mounting pressures, not all hearts could remain as steadfast as stone.
The unassuming shed located in a corner of the palace was deathly silent, giving the impression that no one was inside.
Only upon entering would one find that it was not only occupied but heavily so.
A group of individuals dressed as ordinary guards ford a semi-circle. Their expressions stern, eyes piercing, they focused intently on a large mirror opposite them.
The Regent Ruler had ordained that a black cat would fly out of this mirror tonight. Whoever succeeds in capturing it alive would be rewarded with a thousand top-grade spirit stones; to kill, five hundred; should it escape, everyone in the room would die.
They had no idea what this cat was, only that its presence put the Regent Ruler on edge.
The Regent Ruler’s secret was not sothing they dared to question, nor did they have the right to. Their duty was simply to obey.
Although these n wore the clothes of ordinary guards, they were actually the Regent Ruler’s most trusted generals. Their clothing was rely a ans of maintaining a low profile.
At that mont, a dark circular passage had appeared within the large mirror. The group of assassins tensed, raising the unusual weapons in their possession to their chests in preparation for battle.
A few monts later, a small black figure indeed bolted out from the circular passage inside the mirror.
Seeing this, the assassins imdiately sprang into action, launching their powerful magic skills at the figure, albeit using only thirty percent of their true capacity.
Their strategy was simple – first incapacitate the foe, then capture it alive.
Erging from the circular passage in the mirror was indeed Ye You. As soon as he exited the ti tunnel, he sensed a heavy killing intent. Imdiately, a multitude of destructive magic skills ca hurtling his way.
"Stone Turtle Armor!" Ye You shouted harshly, and an impenetrable shield instantly materialized around him.
Multiple magic attacks hit Ye You’s protective shield, resulting in a loud, explosive sound.
The magic attacks dispersed in smoke, and Ye You’s Stone Turtle Armor shattered along with it. Even though the assassins had only used 30 percent of their power, the collective force of multiple magical attacks was still trendous.
Although Ye You managed to fend off the attacks, he had almost exhausted his strength doing so. He staggered back several steps before he could stabilize himself. His injuries from battling Princess Gao Yang hadn’t fully healed. Now, with the addition of fresh wounds, pain ripped through him. Blood gushed from his mouth.
Pain clouding his eyes, Ye You gazed at what once was his ho. As expected, Tian Xiaozi had set a trap for him. With a damaged Magic Source and severe internal injuries, how would he manage to escape?
What about Qin Sisi?
They had been torn apart in the ti tunnel due to the distortion caused by spatial transition. Where would she land?
Seeing that their initial attack had done significant damage to the black cat, the assassins initiated the second part of their plan.
The assassin in the middle whistled, and three silver nets, each asuring about fifty centiters in length and width, descended from the rooftop.
It turned out that they had planted three people on the roof beam responsible for controlling the nets and catching the black cat.
Ye You saw the three nets and his gaze darkened instantly. Without even guessing, he knew these were prepared specifically for him.
The nets, perfectly sized for catching a cat, were made of Ice Silkworm Silk, impervious to fire, blade, and lightning.
