Chapter 652: Chapter 652 Seeking Life but Cannot Seek Death_1
Qin Sisi and Ye You were right to be concerned; the process of finding the mole-man was difficult, yielding no results after several nightly reports from the yellow cat.
Due to their preoccupation with this issue, Qin Sisi and Ye You lost interest in seeking out ghosts. Instead, they stayed ho to focus on their respective tasks of practicing magic and concocting pills.
After many days of practice, Qin Sisi finally managed to extinguish a light using the magic skill of Leaf Blind, but the light only stayed off for a second.
Qin Sisi was filled with a mixture of excitent and disappointnt.
Without showing much emotion, Ye You comforted and encouraged her, reminding her that if she could extend the effect to last for five seconds, it could be of great use in battles.
During this ti, Qin Sisi received a call from Ding Jiawang, informing her that Ding Jiayuan had awakened and her ntal state had markedly improved. What’s more, she seed to have forgotten Wu nglei.
However, as a precaution, Ding Jiawang planned to have Jiayuan complete schooling abroad to lessen the chances of eting Wu nglei.
After hanging up, Qin Sisi sighed heavily in silence.
She and Ye You had tried their best, but they could not fully control soone’s fate. She could only pray that Jiayuan would et a good life partner and avoid any future harm.
Before she knew it, several days had passed and it was the first day of the sixth lunar month.
Qin Sisi and Ye You both had stated that waiting for half a month or a month for the cats to find the mole-man was a waste of ti.
They decided that while the yellow cat would lead the other cats in their search through the city, they would also go out searching for new ghosts, thus taking a two-pronged approach.
One evening, as Qin Sisi and Ye You were preparing to go out, the yellow cat suddenly appeared on their window sill, scraping the glass with its sharp claws as if in a hurry.
Qin Sisi quickly opened the window and let the yellow cat in.
Without a way to communicate with Qin Sisi, the yellow cat owed at Ye You once it was inside.
Ye You’s eyes narrowed and he quickly leaped onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder, exclaiming, "We’ve found the man with the mole. We need to hurry."
Feeling energized, Qin Sisi was about to conjure Wings of Rainbow but Ye You had already ford a translucent silver sphere above his head saying, "It’s an ergency. I’ll take care of it."
Qin Sisi nodded, knowing that Ye You’s night vision was highly superior and that he could catch up to the yellow cat faster than she could.
The yellow cat jumped out of the window, using the walls and air conditioning units to scale its way down to the ground.
Ye You controlled the silver sphere to plunge down quickly, closely following the yellow cat.
In the sporadic darkness of the city, the yellow cat led the way with the silver sphere following behind through the city’s most remote corners.
Eventually, the yellow cat stopped in the green strip running along a major road, owing twice at Ye You.
Ye You retracted the silver sphere, peering from behind the greenery with Qin Sisi.
Not too far away were two figures, a man and a woman.
The woman appeared to be drunk, stumbling and mumbling incoherently. The man was grabbing onto her, trying to guide her to the other side.
Due to the distance and dim lighting, Qin Sisi couldn’t be certain if that man was the mole-man they were searching for. She turned to Ye You and asked in a low voice, "Is it him?"
Ye You nodded, responding with certainty, "It’s him. The traits are an exact match."
After thinking for a mont, Qin Sisi turned to look at the other side of the road where a hotel indeed stood.
Re-entering the conversation, the yellow cat owed at Ye You a few tis.
Ye You explained to Qin Sisi, "He’s saying that the girl had vomited earlier, which delayed them. Otherwise, the man might have already taken her into the hotel."
Watching the mole-man they had been searching for for days, a cold light flashed in Qin Sisi’s eyes. As it seed, their persistence had finally paid off; they had found him. Now, they could finally help Feng Jingyuan fulfill her desire for revenge.
What Qin Sisi and Ye You didn’t know was that the mole-man wasn’t even a native of S City. He rely had to travel here for work every Friday, staying overnight before returning to his original place of work.
Today was Friday.
The woman’s consciousness seed to be growing fainter, and as the mole-man helped the unsteady woman prepare to cross the road, they noticed a red traffic light and stopped at the zebra crossing.
Qin Sisi told Ye You, "Let’s bring out Feng Jingyuan!"
With a flick of Ye You’s claws, a wisp of smoke floated out, soon solidifying into Feng Jingyuan’s spectral form.
As soon as she appeared, she anxiously asked, "Any news?"
Qin Sisi gestured in the direction of the man with her chin, saying, "Look over there, is that the guy?"
Feng Jingyuan imdiately turned to look. As a ghost who only manifested in the dark, she had fairly good night vision. Recognizing the scoundrel who had wronged her, she clenched her teeth and spat, "It’s him. I rember him clearly. It’s definitely him."
Before Qin Sisi could respond, Feng Jingyuan quickly added, "Mage, he is going to harm another girl. Stop him. He must not succeed!"
Qin Sisi nodded, reassuring her, "Don’t worry. He won’t succeed. Now I need you to tell
how you plan to take your revenge."
Without hesitation, Feng Jingyuan replied, "He ruined my life. I want him to live in such despair that he wishes for death."
"You don’t want him dead?" Qin Sisi found this a bit odd; given Feng Jingyuan’s depth of hate, she was expecting Feng Jingyuan to insist on his death.
Shaking her head, a fierce light appeared in Feng Jingyuan’s eyes as she replied in a low voice, "Death isn’t the greatest pain. Living in despair is."
A sigh of relief escaped Qin Sisi, knowing that since Feng Jingyuan had committed suicide, she wasn’t prepared to assist the ghost in murder. Sisi had even prepared to explain her position to Feng Jingyuan and was surprised when the ghost said she did not wish him dead, making everything far simpler.
Feng Jingyuan’s words held truth. n who defiled lifeless bodies were truly vile; they deserved every punishnt that ca their way.
Just as the traffic light turned green, the black mole-man was about to guide the drunken woman across the street when a blue light shot from behind him, hitting him squarely in the head.
The mole-man paused, his eyes rolling back as he collapsed onto the ground alongside the drunken woman.
Qin Sisi flashed a smile at Ye You who was perched on her shoulder. Undoubtedly, this was Ye You’s handiwork.
The mole-man had fainted and was now a sitting duck.
Qin Sisi coldly glanced at the fallen mole-man, then turned to Feng Jingyuan, "You can decide how to proceed. Whatever you decide, I will do my best to ensure it happens."
