Chapter 650: Chapter 650: The Scavenger Villain_1

Feng Jingyuan broke down in tears as she finished speaking.

She had always followed rules and norms in her life, and it was only this once, in her heartbroken desperation, that she wanted to do sothing reckless. Little did she know that it would lead to such a dreadful consequence. Losing her chastity, her most treasured virtue as a woman, she felt she could no longer keep on living.

Qin Sisi’s mood also dampened as she listened. She sympathetically patted Feng Jingyuan’s shoulder. Although Feng Jingyuan almost hurt Ding Jiayuan and Wu nglei, she was admittedly a victim back then.

Qin Sisi had co across similar incidents reported in the news before. So people would specifically target drunk girls near bars, taking advantage of their impaired consciousness to sexually assault them in hotels, commonly known as "Carcass Pickers".

Most of the victimized girls would not report the incidents, and even when they did, the cases were often tough to crack because they wouldn’t be able to clearly recount what had happened given their drunken state.

Watching Feng Jingyuan crying her heart out, Qin Sisi wanted to say so words of comfort but didn’t know how to begin. No one could truly empathize with the pain the victims had suffered. Any words of comfort she could offer might just sound like empty platitudes.

Fearing that her attempts to comfort might inadvertently worsen Feng Jingyuan’s pain, Qin Sisi only let out a long sigh, sat silently by her side.

After a while, when Feng Jingyuan cald down slightly, Qin Sisi continued, "Is that why you committed suicide?"

Feng Jingyuan shook her head, her voice choked with emotion. "I was too scared to die and lacked the courage to take my own life. I consoled myself, thinking that as long as I never uttered a word about it, no one would ever know. After graduation, I could start afresh elsewhere.

I pushed myself to forget about the incident, tried to step out of the shadows and go on with my life. Even if I had lost my boyfriend, I still had my parents who loved

dearly.

But around three months later, I realized sothing was amiss with my body. Taking to the internet for advice, I bought a pregnancy test from a pharmacy. I didn’t dare test it at school, so I did it in the bathroom on the sixth floor of Manten Plaza.

I prayed desperately that my suspicions wouldn’t turn out to be true. Yet, even God seed to lack sympathy for , I was really pregnant.

I was just twenty, still in school and already pregnant, not even knowing who the father was.

This ti, I was utterly devastated. My parents are rather conservative, so if they found out, they might perceive

as their disgrace, perhaps even wishing they had never brought

into this world.

I couldn’t bring myself to step out of that tiny bathroom, as I could already foresee how others would stare at , whisper about , how my parents would scold , how my classmates would mock , and how my school might expel .

I had no idea how to face what was about to happen. I felt like I was at my wit’s end.

In despair, I used a nail cutter I had on

to slit my wrist and placed my hand into the toilet. As I watched my blood gushing out, a strange sense of liberation washed over .

I knew I was about to die, and I wouldn’t have to worry about anything anymore. The disapproval, mockery, humiliation, abuse... I wouldn’t have to see or hear any of it."

Through her tears, Feng Jingyuan managed a bitter, helpless smile.

Who at the age of twenty would willingly give up their life?

But for her, who was so young and innocent back then, she must have felt completely hopeless and at a dead end.

"If you wanted to escape, why didn’t you follow the ssenger of Death to the underworld to reincarnate?" Qin Sisi asked, puzzled. From Feng Jingyuan’s tone of voice, it seed like she had no lingering attachnt to the world she left behind.

Feng Jingyuan’s eyes instantly shot out a dark murderous look as she responded through clenched teeth, "Because I’m not willing to let it go. When the ssenger showed up to take

away, I suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of injustice. That bastard ruined my life without facing any consequences. So, I couldn’t leave. I had to find him and seek my revenge."

Qin Sisi understood Feng Jingyuan’s contradicting feelings - the inability to face the world yet the unwillingness to leave it. Hence making her stick around in the living world as a ghost.

"It’s a pity, even though you decided to stay, you still couldn’t get your revenge." Qin Sisi sighed, questioning how she could talk about revenge when she couldn’t even rember what the man looked like? Moreover, a ghost with a weak spiritual power couldn’t stray too far from the place of death.

Feng Jingyuan remained quiet for a mont, then slowly nodded. She looked at Qin Sisi intently and said: "Indeed, I couldn’t get my revenge on my own, so I’m willing to offer you my soul power, as long as you can help

avenge myself."

Qin Sisi turned to Ye You with an inquiring look, to which Ye You responded with a few ’ow’ sounds.

Qin Sisi fetched a chair and placed it next to the dining table. Then she instructed Feng Jingyuan: "Sit here, close your eyes, don’t talk. I am going to help you access the part of your mory from after you got drunk."

Feng Jingyuan did as she was told, sitting back against the dining table and quietly closing her eyes.

Ye You jumped silently onto the dining table and conjured up a blue light with its claw, which slowly seeped into Feng Jingyuan’s brain from the back of her head, attempting to awaken the mory from her drunken stupor.

In essence, excessive drinking is a form of alcohol poisoning. As a huge amount of alcohol enters the body, it numbs the brain, leading to abnormalities in the cerebral cortex, causing hallucinations or mory loss.

But what has happened remains in the past. So residual mories from that period may still linger in tiny amounts within so brain cells. It was these infinitesimal fragnts of mory that Ye You was trying to locate.

As ti gradually passed, Ye You continuously infused spiritual power into Feng Jingyuan’s brain. Qin Sisi could notice traces of fatigue in Ye You’s eyes.

Although Ye You never ntioned it, Qin Sisi could sense that his spiritual power had significantly decreased compared to before. She recalled that similar conditions started occurring after Ye You was hunted down by an assassin from the Demon Sacred Realm.

Qin Sisi wasn’t naive, she easily guessed that Ye You must have been severely injured during that tough battle. He had refrained from admitting the truth only because he didn’t want her to worry.

Since Ye You kept silent, so did Qin Sisi. Instead, she practiced diligently, hoping to beco stronger as fast as possible so she could protect Ye You when needed.

Seeing Ye You struggling now brought a pang of pain to Qin Sisi’s heart. She bent over and whispered softly, "Can you hang in there? If you can’t, we can continue tomorrow. Don’t push yourself."

Ye You knew better than anyone else that pushing his body in his current state would do more harm than good, so he stopped insisting.

Qin Sisi briefly explained the situation to Feng Jingyuan. The latter frowned but didn’t say much, just silently let Ye You take her into the portable space.

Imdiately after, Qin Sisi urged Ye You to go to bed to rest. The next day, she specially stewed fish to nourish his body, constantly adding food to his plate, which left Ye You both amused and touched.
