Chapter 642: Chapter 642: Ding Jiayuan is Missing_1
Qin Sisi’s eyes coldly replied, "You don’t need to worry about that. I always honor my promises."
Qian Wu grumbled for a while and seeing Qin Sisi’s stern expression, realized he had no room to argue. Finally, he nodded in agreent and murmured in a mosquito-like voice, "So be it!"
At this, Qin Sisi silently turned to look at Ye You. Ye You had long grown impatient with Qian Wu and upon seeing this, imdiately raised his claw, summoning the Refining Spirit Bottle.
The snow-white Refining Spirit Bottle shimred with bright silver light, spinning slowly in the void, beckoning to any ghosts willing to offer their soul power.
Qian Wu felt as if the bottle could see into the dirtiest corners of his heart, which filled him with dread. Yet thinking of the glory that awaited him in his next life, he clenched his teeth, closed his eyes tightly, and finally transford into a gray fog, drifting into the Refining Spirit Bottle.
Once they had collected Qian Wu’s ghost, Ye You had Qin Sisi burn yellow paper and summoned Lan Di. He gave him mana and money, asking him to subtly adjust the fates of Mao Xiaolu’s husband and daughter, as well as Qian Wu’s wife for the latter part of their lives.
Lan Di’s power was not sufficient to fully control one’s entire fate, but he was capable of making little adjustnts.
Money could make even ghosts grind grain, let alone when it ca with pure spiritual power, so this endeavor was smoothly executed.
A year later, Mao Xiaolu’s husband was introduced by a friend to a woman whose husband had unexpectedly died.
Her husband had a violent temper and had frequently abused her. Hence, she had minimal requirents for a partner; just soone kind-hearted and gentle would do.
Considering Mao Xiaolu’s vanity and flirtatiousness, her husband also wanted to find a simple, stable woman to spend the rest of his life with.
Both of them were honest and straightforward people, they agreed in general principles, shared similar dispositions, and both had daughters, so they ford a new family together.
At first, the two girls of similar ages were inevitably resistant to these new additions to the family, but since the two adults were virtuous and gentle, they treated the children equally and, in ti, the atmosphere in the family began to harmonize.
In this warm and peaceful family, Mao Xiaolu’s daughter grew up and developed a good character. When she had her own family, she brought the feeling of peace and warmth into it, leading a smooth and peaceful life, although not wealthy.
Qin Sisi and Ye You had successfully fulfilled Mao Xiaolu’s wish.
As for the wife of Qian Wu, after Ye You amplified her disappointnt in her husband into despair using magic, she gave up entirely on n.
She never remarried, devoting her energies to things she enjoyed and discovered business opportunities along the way.
Ten years later, this woman in her fifties had embarked on a substantial enterprise and beca an inspiring legend among won.
A thousand years later, Qian Wu and Mao Xiaolu in their next lives were also enabled to realize their dreams with the help of Ye You. Qian Wu, through effort and networking, beca the director of the Capital First Hospital at the age of 45, while Mao Xiaolu was married to a rich man, just as she had wished.
Although they had developed a strong distaste for each other after their death, Qin Sisi decided to pair them up after contemplating it; better that they bother each other rather than creating trouble for others. Besides, Qian Wu was wealthy now, which t Mao Xiaolu’s expectations completely.
With the plot advancing to this point, Ye You ceased to intervene in their fates and left them to their own devices.
Qian Wu’s nature was unchangeable. After becoming the director, he beca even more arrogant and believed that all the female staff in the hospital were his for the taking.
Most people ignored his advances, though there were so who willingly stooped to his level for their own benefit.
The wife of Qian Wu, Mao Xiaolu, could no longer bear her husband’s constant philandering. She gathered evidence and reported him to the health departnt. As a result, he was suspended and fell from his high position.
Later, Qian Wu was forced to retire early, and his inco was reduced to a ager pension, which inevitably led to a decrease in the lifestyle of his wife, Mao Xiaolu, who was a homaker.
Nevertheless, the couple did not divorce, but struggled through the rest of their lives with their modest pension.
When her soul departed her body once again, Mao Xiaolu rembered her initial deal with Qin Sisi. Reflecting on the trajectory of her two lives, she grew increasingly confused.
Marrying a poor man did not bring happiness; marrying a rich man did not bring happiness, either.
So, who should a woman marry to achieve happiness?
There were many answers to this question, or perhaps there was no answer at all.
For Qin Sisi and Ye You, who were collecting soul power, they were unaware of what the future held. They knew only that after managing all the affairs of Mao Xiaolu and Qian Wu, they needed a good rest.
So, the two of them rested at ho for a day and planned to head out at night to look for ghosts. Even if they were hard to find, it was better than waiting around at ho!
As night fell and Qin Sisi was getting ready to go out with Ye You, her phone suddenly rang. She picked it up and was surprised to see that the caller was Ding Jiawang.
Qin Sisi was slightly puzzled. Ever since their encounter with the girl ghost with pigtails, Ding Jiawang seed to be wary of her. He wouldn’t call her without good cause, so was there so trouble?
Qin Sisi answered the call and barely managed to say "hello" before Ding Jiawang’s anxious voice ca through, "Master Qin, my Jia Yuan is missing!"
"What?" Qin Sisi was stunned. "How did she vanish out of nowhere?"
Ding Jiawang spoke rapidly, "She went out this afternoon and hasn’t co back. Her phone is unreachable, too. I don’t know what’s going on."
"Did you report it to the police?" asked Qin Sisi. She believed that reporting a missing person to the police would produce the best results. Without tangible clues, even she and Ye You wouldn’t know where to start, despite having magical abilities.
"I did, but the police said we have to wait for 24 hours to open a case. They asked us to keep looking and suggested she may have wandered off and will return," replied Ding Jiawang helplessly.
Qin Sisi knew that the police had to abide by their procedures and no one could help in this situation. "I’m sorry," she replied with a sense of frustration, "I can help you look for her, but I’m really not good at this."
"That’s alright. As long as you’re willing to help, that’s good enough. I’m coming to pick you up right now and we can look for her together." Ding Jiawang was already grateful that Qin Sisi had agreed to help.
Initially, when all Ding Jiawang needed was to eliminate the evil spirit from his house, his impression of Qin Sisi was not too deep. However, after several incidents involving Jin Zhu, Yao Shujun, Ma Yuxiang, and other female ghosts, he developed a peculiar trust in Qin Sisi. He always felt that as long as she was willing to help, everything would end well.
