Chapter 624: Chapter 624: Searching for Ghosts in the Mountain_1
Qin Sisi felt quite awkward when she heard her classmate He’s mother describe her as having a "Buddha’s heart". She questioned whether she had attained that level of compassion, but was pleased that they were willing to show her the way.
Ye You stated that the damage done to He stemd from a ghost, and that if they could find the location where the incident occurred, they might locate the ghost too.
A ghost and soul power were precisely what Qin Sisi and Ye You were currently searching for.
The He family stayed with Boss Zheng for two more days. True to predictions, their son’s condition improved. The dark aura in the affected area had completely dispersed, revealing its original color.
He’s ntal state also gradually improved; no longer dispirited as when he first arrived. However, his restlessness during this period, coupled with the invasion of Yin energy, had weakened his body. He needed a period of recuperation to fully recover.
Seeing that He was now capable of getting out of bed and moving around normally, his parents decided not to impose on Boss Zheng anymore, and planned to take him back to their hotown.
Boss Zheng inford Qin Sisi about their departure ti. Sisi packed her belongings and arrived at Ju Ya Zhai to join the He family. Together, they took a public bus to their hotown, Yu County.
He attended high school in Yu County town, but his family lived in the countryside.
After more than two hours of a bumpy ride, the group finally arrived at the village where the He family lived.
The bus stopped just outside the village, allowing Qin Sisi and the He family to get off and walk into the village.
They passed people working in the fields along the way. Those who knew about the situation stood up to ask the returning family about He’s condition.
He’s parents joyfully assured them that their son had fully recovered and there was no need for concern.
So people also enquired about Qin Sisi’s identity. Qin Sisi quickly whispered sothing to He’s mother, who then explained that Sisi was a student of her husband’s cousin, and was visiting the countryside for a couple of days.
Everyone is curious, and Qin Sisi didn’t want her identity to spark too much curiosity, thus hindering her actions.
Rural houses were generally spacious. He’s mother prepared a room for Qin Sisi and even bought new sheets and a towel from the local supermarket.
Qin Sisi felt warm and appreciative towards the He family’s hospitality.
In the end, He’s mother apologized, "I’m sorry we don’t have an air conditioner in the house, you’ll have to bear the heat."
Qin Sisi hurriedly waved her hand, "It’s okay, it’s not that hot yet, it’s not a big deal."
It was now June, and the hottest days were yet to co. Additionally, both Boss Zheng and Ye You had ntioned that Sisi had a cold constitution and lacked Yang energy. Therefore, she was more tolerant of heat than cold, making the absence of an air conditioner not that important to her.
When He, who had been washing his face under a water tap, saw Qin Sisi erge from her room with a black cat, he looked up in surprise and asked, "Master Qin, did you bring your cat with you? How did I miss it on the bus?"
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Qin Sisi replied, "I was afraid the driver wouldn’t allow it, so I hid it in my backpack."
"Oh." He chuckled and reached out to pet Ye You’s back.
Ye You glared discontentedly at He. Other than Sisi, he didn’t want anyone else touching him.
He’s father approached and said, "Master Qin, it’s already past noon, let’s have lunch first. Everyone is tired today, rest for a day, and I’ll take you up the mountain tomorrow, how does that sound?"
Qin Sisi shook her head and responded, "No, Uncle He, I have to rush back tomorrow. I can only go to the mountain tonight. Let’s go there after eating!"
Today is the fourteenth, and tomorrow is the fifteenth.
Last month, on the fifteenth, in order to capture the ddleso ssenger of Death, Qin Sisi missed her rendezvous with Ye You. This ti, she truly didn’t want to miss it again.
Before his father could respond, He quickly agreed, "Okay, Master Qin. I’ll take you to the mountain after eating."
He felt more grateful to Qin Sisis than his parents. After all, he was the one directly affected, and for a young boy his age, losing his private parts was far more unbearable than death.
He had nearly given up at that ti, even contemplating suicide.
In his eyes, Qin Sisi was an angel sent by heaven to save him.
So, when he saw Qin Sisi asking for help, he imdiately agreed.
He’s father glared at him and said, "You’re still not fully recovered, how can you go to the mountain?"
He retorted defiantly, "I’m completely fine. Moreover, do you know the exact location?"
"Can’t you just tell ?" He’s father was displeased with his son’s attitude.
"How do I explain it? Everywhere looks the sa, either a tree or a rock, how can I explain clearly?" He was equally frustrated with his father’s position.
"Alright, alright," He’s mother ca out to diate, "If it’s not too far, you both go together. It’s better to have each other’s support."
So the matter was settled. After lunch, He and his father accompanied Qin Sisi to the mountain.
Just as they were departing, He saw Qin Sisi holding the black cat and curiously asked, "Master Qin, are you going to take the cat with you?"
"Yes!" Sisi crisply replied.
He kindly suggested, "It’s going to be tiring carrying it the whole way. Leave it at ho. My mom will watch it and make sure it doesn’t get lost."
Qin Sisi smiled slightly and replied, "This cat is not ordinary; it can see things that ordinary people can’t."
He paused, recalling his previous encounter, and was too frightened to ask further.
The trio arrived at the foot of a mountain. He introduced it as Fu Mountain. A temple was built on its peak, with sacred idols inside. Many people ca to burn incense and pray for blessings on the first and fifteenth of every month. It was said to be very effective.
Of course, the place where He relieved himself was not near the mountain top. It was on another mountain next to the main peak, a relatively desolate one.
Compared to the main peak with its sacred idols, children of He’s age preferred barren, deserted, and less populated areas.
He led his father and Qin Sisi up the desolate mountain. They didn’t go to the top but made a detour at the halfway point. They walked on an uneven stone path, not quite a road, and arrived beneath a large tree.
Pointing to the tree, He said, "It’s here."
Qin Sisi walked with Ye You to the base of the large tree. It seed to be a maple tree, probably quite old. The tree crown was large and lush, providing ample shade.
She circled the tree once and looked at Ye You at an angle others couldn’t see.
Ye You nodded slightly, confirming the presence of a ghost. He then told Sisi to go back, and they would co again at night.
