Chapter 622: Chapter 622: The Indescribable Strange Disease_1
When Qin Sisi arrived at Ju Ya Zhai by taxi, Boss Zheng was already waiting for her at the entrance.
Upon seeing Qin Sisi get out of the taxi, Boss Zheng heaved a sigh of relief and hurriedly greeted her, "Sisi is here!"
Qin Sisi nodded with a small smile and asked concernedly, "Uncle Zheng, how is your relative doing?"
Instead of responding imdiately, Boss Zheng gestured for her to co inside, saying, "Let’s go in and sit down, I’ll tell you the details."
"Alright." Qin Sisi agreed and walked into Ju Ya Zhai with Ye You and Boss Zheng.
Boss Zheng did not imdiately have Qin Sisi see the patient. Instead, he first brought her to a private room and briefed her about the situation.
Behind Ju Ya Zhai was a quadrangle courtyard where Boss Zheng resided, and it was there that the unfortunate child was resting with his parents.
The child’s father, Mr. He, was a distant cousin of Boss Zheng. They lived in a suburb a couple of hours away from S City.
Though referred to as a ’child,’ he was a fresh high school graduate.
Having nothing much to do during the holidays, he went hiking with a group of friends.
On their descent, Mr. He had an urgent need to relieve himself. Embarrassed to do it near his companions, especially the girls, he went off to find a secluded spot.
As he was pulling his trousers back on, he felt a sudden chill but it went away quickly without him giving it much thought.
Upon returning ho, he felt fine at first. But a week later, a certain unspeakable part of his body began to swell and then ache after a couple more days.
Mr. He initially kept it to himself out of embarrassnt and tried to treat it with so antibiotics.
But when the symptoms showed no signs of improvent and, in fact, worsened to the point where the pain was unbearable, he confessed to his family.
His family, realizing the severity of the situation, quickly took him to the local county hospital.
By then, the affected area had turned from red to purple-black.
After examining Mr. He, the county doctors said that they could not treat him and the only option was amputation to prevent the disease from spreading to other parts of his body.
Mr. He and his parents were understandably resistant to this choice. After all, he was only eighteen—his life was just beginning. If that crucial part of him was amputated, what hope would remain for his future?
When the family refused to consent, the county hospital recomnded that they seek help from a larger hospital in S City, upon which Mr. He’s father thought to contact his cousin, Boss Zheng, who had business connections in S City.
Upon receiving his cousin’s call, Boss Zheng gladly helped to arrange for a hospital visit and personally picked up the family from the train station.
However, as soon as he saw Mr. He, Boss Zheng sensed sothing was off about the boy’s complexion.
After asking about what had transpired, Boss Zheng beca more certain that Mr. He’s problem wasn’t rely physical. But as the family had co to visit a hospital, Boss Zheng didn’t make a fuss and escorted them to the pre-arranged hospital.
After spending a night in the hospital and receiving their dical assessnt, the doctors there also suggested amputation—an opinion identical to the county hospital’s. They believed that, if not amputated, the disease could affect other parts of the body and beco life-threatening.
The news caused Mr. He’s parents to give in to despair. They had no choice but to consent to the operation as the patient’s life was paramount.
Upon learning the news, Boss Zheng held back the couple who were prepared to give consent for the surgery. He shared his suspicion about Mr. He’s illness and suggested consulting a mage.
The couple, knowing that Boss Zheng worked in this field, sowhat trusted his judgnt and largely had no other options.
Thus, they agreed to Boss Zheng’s suggestion, consenting to his arrangent to have soone with mana inspect Mr. He first. If they weren’t satisfied, they would proceed with the hospital operation.
Boss Zheng first brought the family back to his residence. He briefly inspected Mr. He, and seeing that the affected area had turned completely black, he knew he couldn’t delay further and hastened to call Qin Sisi.
After listening to Boss Zheng’s account, Qin Sisi glanced at Ye You with an awkward expression. Given that the affected area was indeed a private one, how was she supposed to perform the check?
Boss Zheng looked helpless but tried to console her, "I know this might be awkward for you, but there’s no alternative. You must think of yourself as a doctor. To a doctor, there are only patients and no gender differences."
Ye You lifted its head and owed twice at Qin Sisi.
Qin Sisi pressed her lips together and told Boss Zheng, "Uncle Zheng, I understand. Please take
to the patient."
Boss Zheng was worried that Qin Sisi might refuse, considering she was unmarried and might feel uncomfortable with this kind of matter.
Overhearing that Qin Sisi agreed to see the patient, Boss Zheng was very pleased and gratefully said, "Those who achieve great things do not get hung up on the small details. Such magnanimity, Sisi, will assuredly lead to your success."
Qin Sisi couldn’t help but blush, realizing she had only agreed to go through the motions without any intention to really inspect the area--that was a job for Ye You.
Unable to deny Boss Zheng’s effusive praise, Qin Sisi awkwardly laughed it off. Then, carrying Ye You, she followed Boss Zheng towards the inner courtyard.
Upon entering the living room where Mr. He and his parents were seated, the middle-aged couple quickly stood up and looked respectfully toward the door.
Boss Zheng led Qin Sisi into the room and introduced her to Mr. He’s parents as a highly powerful mage.
Mr. He’s parents exchanged skeptical looks; Qin Sisi’s age and appearance hardly matched their expectations of a mage.
Boss Zheng understood their apprehension and calmly reassured, "Appearances can be deceiving. Whether it works or not, we’ll soon find out."
Having finished, Boss Zheng turned to Qin Sisi to see if she had any special requests.
She replied eloquently in a gentle but clear voice, "I will treat Mr. He, but I’ll need everyone else to go outside, please."
Mr. He’s parents looked at Boss Zheng, who promptly nodded and said, "Sure, we’ll wait outside."
Next, Boss Zheng addressed Mr. He’s parents, "Let’s go. We should let Master Qin work without disturbances."
Despite their anxiety, Mr. He’s parents had no choice but to leave the room with Boss Zheng, who closed the door behind him.
Although she was certain Boss Zheng would stay right outside, Qin Sisi still walked over to lock the door from the inside. In case Mr. He’s overly concerned parents burst in, it might disrupt her and Ye You’s treatnt of Mr. He.
