Chapter 593: Chapter 593: The Beautiful Silhouette Across the Lake_1

Ding Jiawang started the car after seeing Qin Sisi get in it.

After a while, seeing Ding Jiawang remain silent, Qin Sisi couldn’t help but ask, "Where are we going?"

Ding Jiawang paused before replying, "My school."

"School?" Qin Sisi repeated, surprised.

Ding Jiawang should have known about her supernatural powers – that she interacted with ghosts. What was his reasoning bringing her to their school during broad daylight?

However, Ding Jiawang stayed silent, his lips tightly pursed.

Perceiving his reluctance to speak, Qin Sisi refrained from asking further, figuring that the situation would naturally clarify itself. It would not take more than an hour to reach Ding Jiawang’s school, and by then, she would have an idea about his intentions.

Upon reaching their destination, Ding Jiawang parked the car outside his school and, without uttering a word, gestured to Qin Sisi to follow him. With an air of urgency, he sped towards the school.

Qin Sisi had no choice but to clutch Ye You and jog after him.

After twenty minutes of trailing him, Ding Jiawang finally stopped.

Qin Sisi caught up with him only to discover a gleaming lake before her eyes.

The water was clear, reflecting the blue sky and puffy, white clouds. On the lake border, nurous willows hung low, their reflections dancing in the water.

A breeze generated ripples across the lake, resembling gentle waves cascading through a smooth, green silk tapestry.

The warm early sumr sun fell upon the lake, each ripple shimring with dazzling golden light, making for an exceptionally breathtaking view.

On a naturally shaped artificial rock not far away, in bold red letters, the na of the lake was revealed: Wenxin Lake.

Benches were scattered at intervals alongside the lake. Students from the Ivory Tower sat in groups, resting, chatting, and occasionally letting out tinkling laughter.

"You didn’t bring

here to appreciate the scenery, did you?" After admiring the picturesque scene by the lake, Qin Sisi turned to ask Ding Jiawang.

"Of course not." Ding Jiawang’s response was instant.

"Then what exactly do you want

to do?" Qin Sisi felt utterly perplexed by the filthy-rich Ding Jiawang’s behavior.

"Just wait. You’ll see soon," replied Ding Jiawang before walking away to sit on a bench.

Rolling her eyes, Qin Sisi found another empty bench and sat down before quietly asking Ye You for his thoughts.

With a nonchalant tone, Ye You replied, "Then wait. He’s not in a hurry, and nor should we be. With such beautiful scenery, you could consider it as going on a date."

Speechless, Qin Sisi glared at Ye You, then looked out towards the placid lake. As Ye You said, the scenery was indeed enchanting, and when in Ro, do as the Romans do. She might as well wait patiently, regardless of not knowing what was in store.

During her idle waiting, Qin Sisi noticed a peculiar sight.

Most areas around the lake were equipped with benches and frequented by students passing by. However, one section, enclosed within a fence, didn’t have a single bench and hardly saw anyone walk past, giving off a desolate impression.

Qin Sisi gave it a thought, turned to Ding Jiawang and asked loudly, "Hey, what’s that place over there? Why is it fenced?"

Perhaps her voice was too loud, as passing students glanced at her with curiosity.

Ding Jiawang’s expression subtly changed. After keeping silent for a while, he stood up from his bench, sat next to Qin Sisi, and told her in a low voice, "It’s said that place is haunted."

"Haunted?" Qin Sisi was surprised, but also sowhat thrilled. Ye You had been right about one thing – interacting with Ding Jiawang could lead to unexpected gains.

"What kind of ghost? Has anyone seen it?" Qin Sisi whispered her questions.

Ding Jiawang gave her a glance before replying, "You think everyone has supernatural powers like you do! Nobody has seen it, it’s just a rumor. Apparently so students fell into the lake there unexplainably.

Even though they were rescued each ti, and nobody had died, after a few incidents, the school grew afraid and put up a fence around that section of the lake."

Qin Sisi looked at the area again, then asked, "That fence has been around for several years, hasn’t it?"

Ding Jiawang nodded, "It’s been there for a while. It was already there when I arrived, and I’ve been here for almost three years."

After squinting across the shimring lake towards the frigid tal fence, she turned her gaze to Ding Jiawang, asking, "You brought

here to...catch a ghost?"

Ding Jiawang’s face twisted awkwardly as he stuttered, "Actually, I don’t even know if she’s a ghost. If she is, then why does she appear during the day? And if she’s a normal person, why can only I see her, but others can’t?"

"Only you can see her? Others can’t?" Confused, Qin Sisi repeated Ding Jiawang’s words.

Ding Jiawang indeed had a knack for making things difficult to understand.

Ding Jiawang sighed and said, "After seeing her figure here, I wanted to go and get a closer look, but nothing was there when I arrived.

I even asked my classmates to check for , but they all claid they couldn’t see anything. At first, I thought they were pulling my leg, but I later realized they were telling the truth.

That’s when I started suspecting sothing was off about the figure I saw, which is why I wanted you to co and take a look."

Finally, Qin Sisi had so idea about Ding Jiawang’s intentions, but she was left with many lingering questions.

Just as Ding Jiawang had wondered – if it was a ghost, why could it appear during the day?

But if it was a person, why couldn’t others see it?

Qin Sisi looked quizzically at Ye You, who only responded with a casual "ow," implying, "Wait."

As the sun gradually sunk lower in the sky, the evening hues painted the western sky, turning even the lake’s surface multi-colored.

Ding Jiawang had intently been watching the deserted fenced area across the lake. Suddenly, he stood up and pointed excitedly, saying, "Look, she’s here!"

Startled, Qin Sisi rose to her feet, shading her eyes with her hand as she stared intently towards the far side of the lake.

Behind the sky-blue fence stood a woman, dressed in a white top and black skirt, leaning against the fence engrossed in a book.

From their distance, they couldn’t see her face, only the long, intricate braid that added to her classical elegance.

The woman’s simple and dignified attire, her natural classical aura, and the tranquility of her reading were clearly visible from afar. This sight, under the magnificent hues of the sunset was serene, picturesque, and moved one’s heart.
