Chapter 578: Chapter 578 Mysterious Suit Man_1

Ox-Head and Horse-Face showed a puzzled look on their faces after hearing the report from the ghost officers.

According to the tracking situation, Qing ng’s aura indeed ended here and didn’t proceed any further, so why couldn’t they find him?

Ox-Head, impulsive by nature, couldn’t help but rush over to Qin Sisi and yell: "Girl, where is Qing ng? Hand him over now!"

Qin Sisi stood up, looking directly at Ox-Head’s ferocious gaze, and said, "As I’ve already said, Qing ng isn’t here. You’ve got the wrong place."

Ox-Head was not willing to back down, throwing his Soul Summoning Banner upwards, and wielded the lower end, pointing the wavering top end of white paper towards Qin Sisi as he threatened, "Don’t play smart-mouth, hand him over now, or I’ll reel in your soul and cut your life short."

Ye You’s eyes seed to flash with a cold glint.

Qin Sisi’s expression also cooled, she could accept being tracked and searched, since Qing ng did end up here.

But this death threat was a bit intolerable. They found no evidence, so what gave them any right to demand soone from her? To reel in her soul and cut her life short?

Qin Sisi responded coldly, "So this is how the underworld officers treat lives with such disdain."

"Impertinent!" Ox-Head roared. His hand holding the Soul Summoning Banner was shaking with anger, but he knew deep down that his actions were inappropriate; his previous threats were rely to scare Qin Sisi. He didn’t dare to casually end a person’s life.

Luckily he didn’t act. Ye You already had his magic skill ready to strike. If Ox-Head dared to lay a finger on Qin Sisi, he would imdiately strike, showing no rcy.

Horse-Face was in a dilemma. If he stopped Ox-Head, the official task of tracking Qing ng would be disrupted.

If he didn’t intervene, he feared his long-standing partner might make a critical mistake, spoiling his clean record.

In the midst of the standoff, a man wearing a light grey suit jacket took a step towards Ox-Head and spoke in a soft tone, "Sir Ox, can I have a word with this young lady?"

Ox-Head sighed in relief and quickly stepped back, nodding at the man, "That works too. Try reasoning with her. She shouldn’t refuse the toast only to drink a forfeit."

Having said that, Ox-Head put away his Soul Summoning Banner and returned to Horse-Face’s side to watch what the man in the suit was going to say to Qin Sisi.

Qin Sisi watched the man in the suit before her with guarded eyes.

The man in the suit appeared nonchalant, giving Qin Sisi a slight smile and said politely, "My apologies for disturbing you at this late hour. Allow

to express my deepest apologies."

No one could hit a smiling face. The man was being so amiable Qin Sisi couldn’t maintain her cold deanor either, her tone softening as she replied, "There’s no need for an apology. I understand you are doing your job. However, resorting to random killing when you can’t find your target seems a bit harsh."

The man in the suit remained unaffected and responded elegantly, "Please forgive Ox-Head’s impatience, young lady. There’s sothing I don’t understand and I hope you could shed so light."

Qin Sisi was perplexed and couldn’t figure what the man’s real intentions were. All she could do was play along, "Go ahead."

The man in the suit continued calmly, "We are ghosts from the underworld, and you can see us, yet you exhibited no signs of panic or fear, which puzzles ."

Qin Sisi’s expression froze. In an instant, she realized this affable man was a bigger threat than Ox-Head and Horse-Face. He got straight to the heart of the matter.

Only then did Ox-Head and Horse-Face realize sothing was amiss. They were ghosts; how was it possible for an ordinary person to see them? And not fear them?

With sudden realization dawning on him, Horse-Face asked, "Right, have you seen us, young lady?"

If Qin Sisi was not an ordinary person and had seen Ox-Head and Horse-Face before, it was highly likely she knew Qing ng as well. Her involvent in Qing ng’s disappearance was highly possible.

The man in the suit did not press on relentlessly. He rely looked at Qin Sisi indifferently, his eyes devoid of any arrogance or irritability.

Qin Sisi took a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm and said, "I’m a mage. I can see ghosts and I’m not afraid of them. I know that ghost officers would not harm people randomly."

At this point, the best she could do was to adopt asures appropriate to the situation without admitting her involvent with Qing ng’s disappearance.

The man in the suit looked at Qin Sisi for a while before continuing, "What an interesting world we live in. Talent can be found amongst the common people. It seems like you are a reclusive expert with exceptional skills."

Qin Sisi laughed at herself and answered indifferently, "You’re overpraising. I’m just an ordinary mage, not so kind of expert."

The man in the suit, still in his calm deanor, continued, "I wonder if there’s a secret technique that can hide a ghost and shield its aura. And are you aware of such technique?"

Qin Sisi’s heart skipped a beat as she imdiately replied, "No, I don’t, and I’ve never heard of it."

Though she made every effort to keep her composure, Qin Sisi’s palms were already sweating nervously.

The man in the suit circled around Qin Sisi and suddenly felt a chilling cold.

An alarm rang in his mind and he quickly turned towards the source of the cold, just in ti to see a black cat gently closing its eyes.

Looking at the black cat for a mont, the man in the suit fell silent. He then walked towards Ox-Head and Horse-Face and said calmly, "Although this young lady possesses a bit of mana, it’s not strong enough for her to hide Qing ng."

Ox-Head and Horse-Face’s faces turned bitter, "What do we do now? If we can’t catch Qing ng, we are all going to be punished."

The man in the suit calmly replied, "The punishnt will be given to those who were responsible for guarding Qing ng first. We may lose so of our salary at most. Isn’t Qing ng’s elder brother quite wealthy?"

By uttering these words casually, the man in the suit cleared up the dead-end that Ox-Head and Horse-Face seed to have reached.

The responsibility for the lost soul wasn’t upon them. Even if they were to be punished, it wouldn’t be severe, just a loss of wealth.

Even without solid evidence, everyone knew this had sothing to do with Lan Di, Qing ng’s elder brother.

All they had to do was to have a little chat with Lan Di and drop a few hints. Lan Di, being the wealthy man he was, would definitely be willing to offer so money to buy so peace.

Lose so money, gain so money; they wouldn’t suffer any losses.

Ox-Head and Horse-Face looked at each other and nodded silently.

The man in the suit had offered the best solution. They really couldn’t find Qing ng, and if they hurt humans while trying to find him, they would have to take responsibility. It was better to just let things be.
