Chapter 566: Chapter 566: The Explanation that is Both True and False_1

As everyone hoped, the sun finally rose in the eastern sky, casting resplendent rays of light on the window and casting luminous spots on the floor.

However, when Qin Sisi woke up, Ye You was still sound asleep.

She carefully placed her hand on Ye You, feeling the softness and warmth of his body, alleviating so of her worries.

Previously, for helping Qian Qian cut the line for reincarnation, Ye You had once fainted for three days and nights, so as long as his body temperature and breathing were normal, Qin Sisi believed he would be just fine.

Gently covering Ye You with the quilt, Qin Sisi went to clean the living room and prepared breakfast, inviting Ning Hao to eat together.

Ning Hao looked at Lv Yong lying on the bed, who hadn’t woken up yet, but his heartbeat and breathing were normal, so Ning Hao was no longer overly worried.

Having gone almost a day and night without food or sleep, even the robust Ning Hao felt a strong wave of fatigue.

After having lunch with Qin Sisi, Ning Hao returned to the guest room to keep a watch over Lv Yong, dozing off in the chair for a while.

In the late morning, Lv Yong finally woke up amidst the gradually rising Yang energy. Looking at the completely unfamiliar room and Ning Hao sitting by his side, his mind boggled.

He only rembered that Ning Hao had asked for his help in moving so items for a friend, and then he followed Ning Hao to a young woman’s ho. He could not rember anything that happened afterward.

When Ning Hao saw that Lv Yong had woken up, he naturally overjoyed, hastily inquiring about his health, and hoped that Lv Yong had not retained any aftereffects.

Lv Yong was still very weak, he leaned against the head of the bed, asking Ning Hao incredulously about what had happened.

Knowing that Lv Yong was an experienced police officer and wouldn’t be easily fooled, Ning Hao had already discussed what to say with Qin Sisi while having lunch.

Looking apologetic, Ning Hao said, "Brother Lu, I’m sorry. I should have consulted you about this beforehand. But I was afraid you wouldn’t believe it and would refuse to cooperate, so I made the decision on my own. I hope you can forgive

just this once."

Although Lv Yong did not know exactly what happened, he could guess from Ning Hao’s expression that it was not simple, and his face inevitably grew serious.

Feeling his own body, other than a bit of fatigue, he didn’t have any other discomfort.

Lv Yong patted Ning Hao on the shoulder and said, "Since I’m all right now, I won’t hold it against you. But you have to tell

the truth—what exactly happened?"

Ning Hao sighed in relief and according to the story he had concocted, explained to Lv Yong, "Brother Lu, this is the ho of a friend of mine... Do you rember a girl I introduced you to?"

Lv Yong nodded: "I rember."

Ning Hao continued, "Actually, my friend is not ordinary, how should I put it... she can see ghosts."

Lv Yong was taken aback, and couldn’t help but laugh, "Ning Hao, we’re police officers, and you’re going on about ghosts to ?"

Ning Hao sighed and replied, "Brother Lu, as I said, you wouldn’t believe it. Luckily I didn’t consult you before, otherwise it wouldn’t have been possible."

Lv Yong looked at Ning Hao with interest, "Okay, keep going, let’s see if I will believe you when you’re done."

Although Lv Yong said this, his expression clearly showed one thing - he didn’t believe it.

Ning Hao wasn’t in a hurry, he continued, "My friend captured an evil spirit a few days ago. This evil spirit was full of resentnt. It said it wanted to kill a person, and only by killing that person, could it rest in peace in the underworld, otherwise it would keep bothering that person in the human world."

Lv Yong was hooked, "Keep going."

Ning Hao’s eyes flickered as he leaned closer to Lv Yong, his voice taking on a mysterious undertone: "That evil spirit said his na was Brother Bao, who has been dead for ten years. He was a gang leader while he was alive and due to betrayal by an undercover cop in his gang, he wound up dead, so he wanted to take revenge on that undercover cop."

Lv Yong’s expression froze as he heard this.

The experience of being an undercover is generally classified, the organization doesn’t reveal it, and the undercover doesn’t talk about it either to avoid reprisals.

Lv Yong was certain he had never told Ning Hao about it, and those who knew about it could be trusted, absolutely not to ntion it casually.

Moreover, Ning Hao was only in his teens ten years ago, he could not have known Lv Yong and Brother Bao.

Seeing Lv Yong’s changing expression, Ning Hao knew that he had begun to waver, and seized the opportunity to explain further. "My friend was afraid that the evil spirit would really kill a cop, so she asked

about you. After confirming it was you, we ca up with a plan to let you et Brother Bao, the evil spirit.

We pretended to let him kill you, and when he thought he had taken revenge, he would leave the human world forever and not bother you anymore. It’s a once-and-for-all solution."

Lv Yong pondered for a while, looked at Ning Hao and asked, "Has Brother Bao’s ghost gone now?"

Ning Hao nodded, very affirmatively replied, "Yes, he is gone and will never appear again."

Lv Yong stared at Ning Hao’s eyes, as if trying to decipher the veracity of his explanation from his gaze.

Though the story wasn’t entirely true, it wasn’t completely false either.

Although Ning Hao felt guilty, considering that Qin Sisi had truly eliminated the invisible nace Brother Bao from Lv Yong’s life, his gaze remained resolute.

Finally, Lv Yong sighed, "Ning Hao, no matter what I can’t believe this story. But there is one thing I can believe—that you would never harm ."

"Brother Lu..." Ning Hao’s heart ached, and he didn’t know what to say.

Thinking back to Lv Yong’s brush with death, Ning Hao was filled with lingering fear. Hearing Lv Yong’s trust, Ning Hao inwardly vowed to take good care of this friend who was both his teacher and comrade.

"Alright, since everything is over, we should leave, or people at ho will start to worry." Lv Yong put an end to the conversation and got out of bed.

When the two walked out of the guest room, Qin Sisi was sitting on the sofa in the living room waiting.

Lv Yong glanced deeply at Qin Sisi without saying a word.

Feeling sowhat guilty, Ning Hao greeted Qin Sisi, informing her that they were about to leave.

Qin Sisi nodded, glanced at Ning Hao, then her gaze fell on Lv Yong, she said softly, "If there’s anything I can help with in the future, I won’t hesitate."

Lv Yong chuckled, replied, "We’re police officers duty-bound to protect the public, how can we have the public help us?"

Although his tone was polite, it hinted at his keeping a distance.

Qin Sisi gave a light smile, she didn’t mind Lv Yong’s distrust, after all, they did use Lv Yong and put him in danger.

However, while she felt gratitude and guilt, Qin Sisi no longer felt overly remorseful in her heart.
