Chapter 527: Chapter 527 Fengdu City in the Underworld_1

Finally, Qin Sisi understood what Ye You and Lan Di ant by their "good show".

What the heck, they had plenty of ti. They would simply patiently wait. When the ti was right, Han Zhikun would have no choice but to speak.

What frustrated Qin Sisi and the others most was that the queue was moving excruciatingly slow. By the ti Han Zhikun drank the Lethargy Potion, five hours had already passed.

Now Han Zhikun was turning a blind eye to Qin Sisi and the others. He received the Lethargy Potion handed over by the Ghost Immortal, quickly drained it, and then turned around and walked out of the Enchanted Palace, progressing towards the next checkpoint.

The rest of them swiftly followed Han Zhikun.

After just half an hour, Lan Di grew impatient and grumbled in dismay, "Oh, my heavens! This is moving too slowly. When will we get to Fengdu City?"

Ye You’s expression beca serious. He estimated the ti and said, "This won’t do. If we follow him like this, we won’t make it to the Hall of Yama in ti.

"What should we do?" Qin Sisi sighed in helplessness as she watched Han Zhikun’s staggering figure. She mumbled, "If only we could get him to walk faster."

Ye You’s eyes twinkled, and he looked at Lan Di with a aningful glance, suggesting, "What if we..."

Lan Di looked left and right, then coughed lightly and spoke softly: "We can’t just fly him there. It’s too conspicuous. However, it should be okay if the three of us moved ahead in company."

With a smile, Ye You and Lan Di exchanged glances. Imdiately they shot up into the air, and, circling around, landed on either side of Han Zhikun. They then proceeded to support his arms.

"Hey! What are you doing? Let

go!" Angrily, Han Zhikun yelled at Ye You and Lan Di.

"Such a bother." Lan Di scratched his ears in disdain, then flicked his finger. A colorless beam of light flashed towards Han Zhikun’s mouth, silencing him instantly. No matter how wide he opened his mouth, he could not make a sound.

With one hand supporting Han Zhikun’s arm and the other holding Qin Sisi, the four spirits quickened their pace and began to move forward briskly.

Watching this scene, Qin Sisi couldn’t help smiling, her mood turning light-hearted.

As four figures sped along, other spirits on the road turned to watch. Every now and then, they encountered a Ghost Immortal maintaining order, who would watch them, slack-jawed and not knowing whether to intervene or not.

Whenever a bolder Ghost Immortal would signal them to stop, Lan Di would simply stuff a stack of Joss Paper into their hands as they walked by.

The Ghost Immortal would hesitate, and despite their reluctance to take the money, the four mysterious spirits would fade into small black specks after just a few seconds.

Three hours later, the group reached the real Underworld, Fengdu City.

Looking up, Qin Sisi saw that the city gate was extraordinarily majestic and imposing. The ghost city, which stood eternally in the river of ti, inspired an unspeakable fear, making it seem like all demons and monsters were powerless before it.

On top was a horizontal plaque, unlike others, it was black with golden inscriptions, and the three words "Fengdu City" were terrifyingly powerful.

There were scrolls hanging on both sides of the gate. The first one read, "Humans and ghosts, ghosts and humans, humans and ghosts take different roads". The second one read, "Yin and Yang, Yang and Yin, Yin and Yang are separated".

There were many ghost soldiers guarding the city entrance, and although there were many spirits there, they were orderly and disciplined.

Ye You and Lan Di had already let go of Han Zhikun. There were many spirits in line; they couldn’t jump the line, or the consequences would be severe.

Lan Di flicked his finger again and lifted the silence curse from Han Zhikun’s mouth.

"You...you..." Han Zhikun, utterly infuriated, pointed at Qin Sisi and the others. His eyes were nearly ablaze with anger, but he couldn’t utter a word.

Lan Di shrugged and said, "No need to thank us, better go get in line!"

Ghost soldiers from the side were urging the newly arrived spirits to line up and enter the city. With a resentful glance at Lan Di, Han Zhikun turned around and joined the queue at the end.

Turning to Qin Sisi and Ye You, Lan Di said, "Let’s go. I’ll lead you guys inside through another entrance. We’ll wait for him in the Hall of Yama."

"Lan Di, I really can’t thank you enough," Qin Sisi sincerely told Lan Di. Without Lan Di’s help, their journey would not have been so smooth.

Quickly, Lan Di waved his hand and said, "Don’t say things like that. It’s giving

goosebumps."

Half annoyed, half amused, Qin Sisi turned to Ye You helplessly.

Ye You smiled lightly, pinched Qin Sisi’s nose, and, taking her hand, followed Lan Di towards another entrance to Fengdu City.

This entrance seed to be specifically for Ghost Immortals. Since Lan Di was a Ghost Immortal and had his identification, the guarding ghost soldiers naturally wouldn’t give him trouble. However, Qin Sisi and Ye You were a different story.

Lan Di spent an arduous ti persuading the ghost soldiers and stuffing them with plenty of Joss Paper. Finally, they were permitted to enter the city with Qin Sisi and Ye You.

Past the first city gate, there was a second one. However, there were no ghost soldiers guarding the second gate. Only spirits who had been properly identified were able to slowly enter.

Between the first and second city gates, two white cylindrical paper lanterns floated on each side. One lantern was illuminated brightly, while the other was dim and unlit.

Qin Sisi looked up at the two strange lanterns in bewildernt, feeling there were profound implications behind them that she could not understand.

Ye You glanced at her, then asked Lan Di, "These two lanterns change their brightness once a month, right?"

"You know this?" Lan Di was once again astounded, a hint of admiration for Ye You stirring in his heart.

Ye You did not pay attention to Lan Di’s surprise, instead he held Qin Sisi’s hand and said to her, "Each month, the brightness of these two lanterns is swapped. The dim one becos bright, and the bright one becos dim, symbolizing the harmony of Yin and Yang. It also implies that in life, fortunes ebb and flow.Interestingly, when sothing cos to an extre, it is then bound to change in the opposite direction."

Qin Sisi’s expression turned serious as she looked at the two aningful lanterns and gripped Ye You’s hand tightly.

The worse it gets, the better it will co, she sincerely hoped it will be as said. She hoped that the fortunes of Ye You would change for the better.

The pair stood hand in hand under the two lanterns, one bright and one dim, for a long ti. For once, Lan Di did not interrupt and quietly waited nearby.

Two hours later, Han Zhikun’s spirit finally passed through the city gate’s vetting process and officially entered Fengdu City.

Qin Sisi and the others also renewed their journey, again following in his footsteps and entering through the second city gate.

After entering the city gate, the sight before their eyes was startlingly beautiful. The Ten Kings of Yama were lined up in a straight row. Each King Yama in the Halls of Yama sat on a high platform, holding in one hand the Book of Life and Death and in the other hand the brush of the underworld judge. They were cold and majestic, effortlessly exuding their authority.

Han Zhikun trembled as he knelt in the center of the first Hall of Yama, his head lowered and eyes averted, waiting to be questioned.
