Chapter 525: Chapter 525: Encounter at Wild Ghost Village_1
Lan Di strolled leisurely towards Qin Sisi and Ye You, tauntingly asked, "How was it? The taste of Evil Dog Ridge and Golden Rooster Terrain must be quite sothing!"
Ye You glanced at him indifferently and remained silent, whereas Qin Sisi mimicked his tone and retorted, "Not bad, the taste of buying your way must be even better!"
Lan Di laughed heartily and replied, "I have no choice, I have too much money. I have to spend so of it, otherwise, it won’t fit in my house."
Qin Sisi rolled her eyes, urging, "Enough already, we get it, you’re rich. We’ve lost quite so ti, let’s get going!"
Lan Di waved his hand and stated, "I will not be traveling with you two. You go that way, I will go this way."
Lan Di pointed Qin Sisi towards the right path, whereas he prepared to take the left one.
Qin Sisi asked with confusion, "Why? Aren’t they the sa?"
Lan Di gave a gleeful reply, "That path is fraught with dangers, only a fool would choose to accompany you two. And since I’m not looking for anyone, I’ll just wait for you at the outskirts of Wild Ghost Village. Good luck."
With that, Lan Di turned and strolled towards the left path.
"Hey..." Qin Sisi barely had ti to react as she instinctively called out to halt Lan Di.
Lan Di turned back, seemingly comforting her, "Don’t worry, I will wait for you for three hours at the village outskirts. If you haven’t co out by then, I’ll take my money and co in after you, ha ha."
As Lan Di swaggered out of sight, Qin Sisi could only stomp her foot in frustration, watching his retreating figure.
Ye You held her hand and murmured, "Just ignore him, let’s go."
Qin Sisi nodded. Hand in hand, they walked side by side down the right path.
The road seed extraordinarily long; they walked for about half an hour before they could vaguely see the shadows of the village ahead.
Many other souls accompanied the duo on this journey. While so were in their entirety, quite a few were missing limbs but not a single soul made a sound, making their surroundings eerily quiet.
A few minutes later, Qin Sisi and Ye You reached the village entrance. They noticed a gateway-like structure standing tall, its color sche composed of black and white, topped with three large black characters—Wild Ghost Village.
They exchanged a glance before stepping into the Wild Village alongside the other souls.
The village path was smooth and seed to widen as they ventured deeper.
The surroundings remained silent. Besides passing souls, they saw nothing else.
However, as they turned a corner, the scene before them changed drastically. The area was bustling with countless people dressed in a variety of clothes, all laughing and bustling about.
Qin Sisi and Ye You stepped forward in a daze, only to see the center of the crowd was a clearing where perforrs dressed in colorful clothes and holding props were entertaining the crowd. There were those performing folk dances, stilts walking, lion dancing; the scene was extraordinarily lively.
Qin Sisi stood baffled for a mont, unable to comprehend how this once silent Wild Ghost Village suddenly beca so lively.
As she was lost in thought, she was suddenly yanked aside. A one-legged spirit with half its face obscured by its hair charged right at her from the spot she had been standing just a mont ago. It looked vicious.
If not for Ye You’s tily intervention, the spirit would have collided with her.
The one-legged spirit, having missed its target, beca even more enraged and lunged at Qin Sisi once again.
Ye You quickly shielded Qin Sisi, leaping forward and kicking the approaching spirit, knocking it onto the ground where it lay stunned for a while.
Still shaken, Qin Sisi asked, "What was he trying to do?"
Ye You explained, "He was trying to rip off your leg to replace his own. Only a complete spirit can leave the Wild Ghost Village."
No sooner had Ye You finished speaking than a gust of cold wind breezed past their backs. Quick on his feet, Ye You hugged Qin Sisi and sidestepped the attack, before swiftly landing a kick on the spirit who had sneaked up from behind.
The spirit moaned, and fell to the ground, incapacitated.
In that instant, Qin Sisi noticed that the spirit who had attacked them was wearing light grey checkered pajamas.
"Wait a minute," She quickly called out to Ye You, who was about to leave, and pointed at the spirit on the ground, "Let
take a look at his face."
Understanding her intentions, Ye You imdiately led Qin Sisi to the fallen spirit. He grabbed the spirit by its hair and lifted its head.
The familiar facial features made them both exclaim in surprise and joy.
They had finally found him!
The spirit who had just attacked Ye You was none other than the person they had been searching for, Han Zhikun.
Qin Sisi and Ye You exchanged a glance, both deeply relieved.
Ye You dragged Han Zhikun’s spirit to a secluded corner. The once bustling street was now reminiscent of the violent and brutal Asura Field, with nurous spirits wrestling and competing for body parts.
Qin Sisi patted Han Zhikun’s head a few tis and asked in a serious tone, "Are you Han Zhikun?"
"Yes, I am," Han Zhikun opened his eyes, looking bewildered. He couldn’t understand how this unfamiliar spirit knew his na.
Qin Sisi, recognizing they couldn’t linger, cut to the chase, "Han Zhikun, your wife Liu Ying sent
to find you. She wants to ask you a question."
Shocked, Han Zhikun looked at Qin Sisi incredulously and stuttered, "You... you..."
Interrupting him, Qin Sisi continued, "Don’t worry about who am I, just tell , why did you hurt your wife?"
With a complex expression on his face, Han Zhikun clamped his mouth shut.
Ye You suddenly seized Han Zhikun’s spirit, his voice filled with nace, "Speak the truth, or your soul will be shattered imdiately."
"Ha ha..." On the brink of destruction, Han Zhikun let out a few cold laughs. In his hoarse voice, he retorted, "In my current state, do you think I’d fare better than a shattered soul? I’m at a dead end, your threats are ineffective."
Indeed, Han Zhikun was now missing an arm, and one of his legs was severely truncated.
If he couldn’t seize the appropriate limbs and append them to his body, he would be stuck in this blood-soaked battlefield-like Wild Ghost Village, engaged in endless fights and struggles.
Ye You furrowed his brows, but Qin Sisi gently shook her head, signaling him not to resort to force.
Ye You thought for a mont before letting go of Han Zhikun. He rushed back into the middle of the fighting spirits, snatched one who was at a disadvantage, and flew back to the corner, tossing the spirit onto the ground.
Upon closer inspection, Qin Sisi realized it was the sa spirit who had attacked her earlier.
Ye You didn’t say a word, simply gesturing at Han Zhikun.
Han Zhikun, who had been waiting for a while, seized this golden opportunity and sprang towards the spirit.
